POV Jo An
Opening the door to my mom's ward I saw a couple of men in black suits then an old man with a walking stick sitting besides my mom who was fast asleep.
If it weren't for the jade green ring on his thumb with the Xia family symbol I wouldn't have recognized Old Xia.
"You are here!" Elder Xia said his voice cold just enough to send chills to anyone's body..... unfortunately am excluded.
I walked to him with an indifferent expression before placing the shopping bags on the floor and removing my headsock.
I noticed to small wrinkles on my mother's duvet so I offered to remove them as I tucked her body to be covered almost wholely.
Don't get me wrong am not a neat freak...I just wanted to seem intimidating before this old man.
"You are coming back to the Xia family." he said and it didn't sound like a request but an order.
"Won't"I said calmly as I watched the old man's expression stiffen abit before going back to an aloof one. I took the a seat in the sofa across my mother's bed.
When I saw him s lips opening to speak I continued.
"Grandpa Just because I left the Xia doesn't mean I don't consider you family." I said giving him a bright fake smile." I will go to the Ye family willingly."
Ofcourse I knew why he was here I was expecting him... in my previous life his company was almost bankcrupt when he suggested this marriage with the Ye.
I tried to fight this cruel fate but to no avail so it's useless....
Hahaha don't think he considers me a good grand daughter because he chose me ...it's that Qing's mother begged not to trade her daughter after her daughter told her what ever it is not to agree to this marriage.
"Good! good! I didn't even..." he started.
I met his similar phoenix eyes with mine yah the same as my father's! And smirked.
" on one condition"I continued....the latter eyes went cold and the smile on his face faded. Did he think I would agree simply ....guess what No ! Never !
"This marriage is for the good of your company ,and ther is nothing like love between us who are going to marry each other ....I know it might change and I win the other parties heart but do you think if I married in a powerful family than yours grandpa after you forcing me to marry there....." I paused watching his face that now had a mad frown... good that's it frown deeper you might be able to die sooner! " Am so vicious and vengeful ,I would like to bite the hand that fed me ."
"You!" he shouted.
"Shhhh!"I motioned for him to keep quite as my eyes darted to my mother who just stirred in bed. " Ofcourse I don't hate you it's my stepmother and her daughter who led to my mother's worsening condition."
I didn't tell you but when my mother was pregnant she happened to have got an accident that damaged her brain .Hence her illness now....a brain tumor.
I just happened to know that when I over heard Qing's mother conversation when I was 15 that she tempted to kill my mother in that car accident.
"But to get back to them I might need to get through you...your company grandpa"
"I want 10%of the shares of the company. This way it will be considered a betrothed gift , compasetion and a security fee."
"How dare you!" he said glaring at me .
"It's okay if you need time to think about it. " I said standing up stuffing my hands in my pockets.
"Send your men to come pick me up at 10 am tommorow I will marry Ye Jun grandpa " I said walking to the door. "Don't even think of involving my mum in this . I will spare no effort to destroy the Xia. About the shared think about it." I concluded signaling them to go out.

"phfmm! " the old man snorted as he made his way out of the room not after giving Jo An a glare.
In the car...
"Are you going to..." assistant Ho a middle aged man in his late fifties spoke attentively.
"You will arrange the documents "elder Xia spoke "Let her sign them before you take her to the Ye family mansion. That girl sure knows how to speak. If it weren't for the fact that the Ye were gonna back her up ...she is rather good as dead."
Elder Xia concluded .He knew if he didn't agree to this small condition he will sure have her as a stone in a shoe. Of all people he knew better that women can be evil if they chose to.... choosing to give Jo An 10% of his company's share was no big deal if she could help him recover the losses after marrying Jun Ye. He would just take them back after everything stabilises.
The following day.
Jo An was taken to the Ye family willingly after signing the contract and other documents. She had told her mother that she would see her in the next following days after suiting somethings out.
She left after securing a few cameras in the room that were linked to her phone so she could keep an eye on her wherever she was.
Just for today she wore a knee height pencil dress that hugged her body perfectly showing off her womanly features. Her hair was tied in a perfect french plaint .And the heels she wore made her seem taller.
Taking in a deep breath she took her step forward.
