The somewhat pleasant surprise that Jin Hao Yun had mentioned was that inadvertently, it had been discovered that Wang Ku Mang actually had quite a talent in regards to the cultivation method of Thousand Li Stroke, which wasn't exactly a cultivation method, but more a special type of mental arithmetic that allowed the clerks to better understand the inventory…
With that talent, and a little bit of modification, Wang Ku Mang would be able to establish a decent cultivation base, thus extending his lifespan and increasing his possibilities. The reason this was surprising was because naturally, when Wang Ku Mang and Wang Jing Hua had first arrived in the Academy, their cultivation talents had already been tested once. It wasn't even some sort of investigation or an innate belief that cultivation was superior to being mortal, it was simply because this was the Academy, the land of dreams!
