Chapter 61 - Paradox

Olaf Meiden hung up the phone and, mastering his anger, looked at the man standing in front of his desk. Dressed in a dark, well-tailored suit, the thirty-year-old looked excellent. His physique clearly indicated that he had a career in sports. It's a shame it ended so early, Olaf acknowledged, looking into the man's dark eyes. A few years ago, he promised to be a great biathlete.

But the loss for the sports world was a gain for Olaf Meiden.

"So he has made a move again," he said.

"Yes, Mr. CEO," Andersen replied without emotion. "He seemed quite... sincere."

Sincere? Certainly. He sincerely regretted accepting the money from Olaf, because if he hadn't, he would still have been able to prey on Gustav's kindness and gullibility. Or maybe he regretted confessing everything to Gustav, thus losing the chance to blackmail his father? Whatever the reason his regret was undoubtedly sincere, only that it did not stem from a sincere desire to right the wrongs done to Gustav.
