Chapter 2 - The Kind

Still trying to navigate himself to the stream, Rayn finds himself bumping into a man of admirable size.

He was about 210 centimeters, harboring huge arms packed with lively muscles, a big scruffy blonde beard, and a sharp axe on his waist. He looked much like a descendant of the old vikings. He was also wearing light armor with metal that can only be described as war-torn.

The difference in Rayn and the man's stature was obvious as he stumbled to the ground, struggling to pick himself up with his weak constitution.

The man, who can be considered as a friendly giant, looked him in his colorless eyes and knew of Rayn. Grabbing him by his now dirty black tunic. Picking him up with one hand and wiping him off with the other.

The big man smiled and asked him a question, "where were you headin'? i can help you to your destination"

Rayn was pleasantly surprised by the man. Usually they ignore him, or even laugh at him, making him resent the place that gave birth to him.

After thinking for a second he gives a short reply to the bearded man "The stream"

After a short hour of walking Rayn and the bearded man make it to the stream. Picking up the pole that was left at the short dock near the water, Rayn waved to the man goodbye for taking him to where he needed to be.

Even though Rayn could not see, he can sense life. Aimlessly gazing into the water beneath him and feeling the presence of fish, he thinks to himself that some people are kind of heart.

Clipping onto a wire some bait used for fishing, Rayn throws out his line, looking to catch dinner and go to sleep with a filled stomach tonight.

"Hey Rayn!"

On the same side of the river, a boy around Rayn's age shouts for his name.

Not being able to see, he looks in the general direction of the sound and smiles as he remembers the familiar voice of his friend who he calls Derick.

Derick was not a bully like the other kids. He liked to talk to Rayn, to understand and imagine what it would be like to see the world through his eyes. He has a very "curious" character. Maybe that is why he always seems to be in trouble.

As he runs, he sets himself next to rayn. Grabbing his own pole and throwing his line into the stream as well.

Derick was a kid just a bit shorter than Rayn, with dirty blond hair and an aura of recklessness surrounding his freckled face and strong body. Wearing a piece of white cloth on his lower waist that was dripping wet, it seems he just got out from swimming in the stream.
