He had to say it, had to make her understand no one else had received so much love from him.He kissed her gently and tenderly but with passion.She kissed back ,she loved him too ,but did she really deserve it ? His love ?She didn't think so .She hugged him tightly burying her head in his chest ,it brought her comfort
"Ramsees, I love you too,"she whispered.
He smiled ,kissed her forehead and held her closer .She smiled too but bitterly.She wanted to cry but held it in ,she didn't want him to worry even though they were reason to.
He fell asleep but sleep couldn't come to her,she just watched him instead engraving him in her memory.When she was sure he was fully asleep, she slipped out of bed, kissed him once more and left .She went to her room and changed took the sword ,stained with innocent blood , hidden for years. She didn't want it ,god she looked at it with disgust and cast her head down with shame and guilt.
The blast of a horn made Ramsees shot up ,it was an alarm ,an alarm of war .He turned,she was not there her bed side cold.He panicked and the screams he heard made it worse .
He grabbed his robe ,his sword and ran barefoot, the cold floor unsettling him.Outside was chaotic,the city burned arrows of fire rained down as if hell broke loose .Heads rolled like toys , innocent people were not spared ,they did as they pleased ,showed no mercy.
His soldiers were unprepared maybe if they were..."Protect the ... "The chief of war had barely finished his words and an arrow went through his heart.
Ramsees reached the main hall.His younger siblings slain ,just eleven years old ,he made a promise to protect them ,he had failed them and yet he had no time to grief as on the throne sat a man ,with an amused smile the cause of all this .
Ramsees pale with fury ,his eyes red ,locked on his target."Oof,I seem to have offended my future son in law , I am dearly sorry ,"he dared to mock him his smile growing wider as Ramsees charged but before he could reach him.He doubled over holding his chest ,it hurt his chest was on fire and a deep groan escaped his throat .He saw how the white robe soaked red quickly .His vision started to blur, and coughed a mouthful of blood that splattered onto the floor.
Despite the excruciating pain he turned to see the coward that stabbed him in the back and there she was holding the sword that went through his chest .Her face expressionless but her eyes filled with guilt and they couldn't even look at him.He sneered.
"Hypocrite ..."he breathed before he collapsed on her arms . Footsteps echoed through the blood stained hall.He was watching he was impressed but also disappointed ."You did well my daughter ,"he said holding her shoulder ,she brushed them off , silently sobbing holding the man ,she had betrayed closely .
"You know between you and that dead weight of a twin you have ,"I love you the most.She didn't respond, she couldn't guilt silenced her and her quiet sobs .
He crouched beside her ,smile intact and wiped a tear from her cheek ."Huh? You're crying. That's a first ."He paused as if thinking before he stabbed her ,once ,twice a third time to be sure .
"Daddy forgives you ."
His own daughter, dead and he stood tall and mighty blood on his hand , satisfied then shook his head ."What a shame,now come along Lotus ,"he called out to the other twin who had her head down ,frozen in place .She didn't want to die like her twin and maybe just maybe she was lucky not to be the favorite after all.
