Chapter 4 - Introductions

Just before reaching the top of the staircase, Ami was surprised and a little amused when her baby brother and his new friend managed to sprint past and were the first to arrive at the opening of the building. She chuckled and shook her head when neither boy was even breathing heavily, she expected as much from Killua, but Ami was a little surprised to see the black-haired boy also perfectly fine. Whoever this boy was, she thought that he was a perfect match for her brother. He seemed to have a very bright personality and she was thankful for that.

Reaching the top of the steps she bumped her shoulder with Hisoka and gestured for them to stand off to the side a little so they would draw as much attention while they were together. It was still a bit awkward for her since she could feel Hisoka's lust towards her as plain as day, but she was choosing to ignore it. Coming to stand just off to the side Ami thought it'd be more comfortable to be beside the building so she could lean on it, and Hisoka stood just beside her; no one was behind them, and that put Ami's mind at ease a little more. Multiple minutes passed while more and more contestants marched up the stairs and came out to either lay on the ground or stand up straight to catch their breaths. Ami was becoming a little bored while waiting and watching the surrounding forests, they were beautiful, yes, but she was tired of standing in one spot doing nothing.

Suddenly though, she felt a warm and soft hand slip up the back of her shirt, it was firm yet gentle and she knew exactly who it belonged to. Sliding her gaze over to her partner, Hisoka was smiling while looking ahead at the ground before them seeming completely oblivious to what his hand was doing. Ami stood straighter while also acting as though his touch wasn't affecting her; she couldn't let him know just how much she had dreamed of his simple touch like this.

"And what do you think you're doing?" she asked evenly while continuing to scan the rest of the contenders, Ami wasn't about to give Hisoka the satisfaction of knowing he had an effect on her. She scanned through the crowd mentally noting where Killua stood before she scanned over to the doorway they had come out of. She watched as one last contestant seemed as if he was seriously struggling to get up the last remaining stairs. Ami watched the man with uncaring eyes, if he couldn't keep up with the simple endurance test, then it was better for him to fail; only the strong survive in their world and it was just easier that way. A wall came down to block them off entirely and in return Ami shook her head dismissively almost forgetting that the man beside her had his hand up her shirt and was coming dangerously close to the clasp of her bra. Her skin prickled at his touch as he teasingly and tenderly slid his fingers over her back.

She felt a little embarrassed that just such a basic touch from him could have her almost out of breath, he wasn't even close to touching her intimately, and that fact alone made her blush. She thought deeply about the fact that if just a simple touch on her bare back bothered her this much, then she couldn't even think about what it would feel like for him to touch her seriously.

"Well at the moment I'm simply standing here, enjoying the fresh air," Hisoka said dismissively while coming to stand just a little closer to her side. His hand was in the upper area of her shoulders, and his arm was starting to push up the hem of her shirt, he needed to block the view a little more so no one could see. Hisoka could feel the goosebumps forming where he touched and inwardly he smirked, even though this wasn't sexual, he still was over the moon with the intimate touch they were sharing right now. It wasn't as erotic as her little stunt in the hangar, but he was proud to have the affect on her that he was receiving.

Suddenly a beaten man came from the other side of the building catching everyone's attention, Hisoka paused at the very bottom of her back while watching the exchange. Ami watched with a raised eyebrow for multiple moments before she took a step forward away from Hisoka's touch. Whoever this guy was, she wasn't really in the mood to deal with the dramatic situation he was causing by claiming he was the 'real instructor'. Her mind went back to the insane stamina the current instructor had presented and she sighed. This new guy was an obvious fake in her opinion, he didn't look like he could make it for one mile on their walk.

Whoever he was Ami was definitely going to kill him.
