In the car, Yeh Hannian had just withdrawn his hand when Nan Jiaojiao nearly snapped it off.
He yelped in pain like a pig being slaughtered, so loud he could've flipped the hood with his voice alone.
"Easy, grandma, I still need that left hand, at least to hold the steering wheel now!"
Nan Jiaojiao then let go of his hand and sat back, "Don't bully him."
"Such protection!"
Yeh Hannian shook out his hand, nudging his hat up a notch without much force, since every finger was aching.
"Then why are you even leaving? Stay and share in his hardships."
Nan Jiaojiao ignored his snide remark.
Yeh Hannian, however, couldn't stand being neglected, he sneered, "Thinking of going back to check how many are still eying you, and then wipe them all out before returning to his side?"
Nan Jiaojiao turned her head to look out the window.
He glanced over, catching only an expressionless profile.
He refused to believe she could remain so composed.
