Bian's eyelids fluttered, lashes twitching against the sterile air. Slowly, hesitantly, his eyes opened to the familiar softness of a Farian medical bay ceiling—brilliant white, yet diffused so it never hurt the eyes. The light above him hummed faintly, casting a gentle halo over everything.

For a moment, he couldn't move.

Then the warmth registered.

His right hand was being held—firm, steady, fingers interlocked with another's. Dican's hand. He recognized it without needing to look. The rough pads of the thumb, the faint tremble of worry in the grip—it grounded him in a way nothing else could.

But when he turned his gaze down to his left…

His breath caught.

Where his arm should've been was now a sleek, metallic limb—silver and black, intricate with glowing lines that pulsed like veins under the plating. It was attached at the bicep, perfectly fitted, with barely a seam where flesh met machine. The artificial hand rested on the white sheets, fingers relaxed and still.
