Everyone looked up at the sky, but there was no sign of the fire—as if it had vanished all of a sudden, or as if the existence of that fireball had merely been an illusion.
The sky was clear and bright as always, emitting the divine energy of the Heaven Realm, but at the same time, it was eerily silent. Even the clouds didn't seem to stir, as though they had been frozen in place by something unseen.
Their eyes searched for her—the Deity of Fire—but there was no sign of her, or of the hellfire.
Yet they knew well: this was only the calm before the storm.The kind of storm that could sweep away all three realms and erase every trace of their existence.
