Chapter 131 - RDD 130

RDD 130

When I returned to the subdivision, I found that the five workers were walking to the entrance. It seemed that they didn't have a car to go to the house.

My father has a construction company and the company has many cars to use... But it seems like only trusted people could use it.

I stopped the car right next to them and opened the window.

"Sir Castillo!"

"Get in the back. It will take an hour to get to the house if you walk."

"Thank you, Sir!"

The five happily hopped in. They have backpacks behind them because they need a change of clothes, perhaps the documents were in their backpacks too.

"You guys didn't have a car?"

"We didn't know how to drive."

They embarrassingly smiled. I guess that was the reason why they were walking.

"What about the highway? Did you guys commute?"

"No, Sir. The company has a project in FCIE and we decided to take a ride with them. They drop us at the entrance of the subdivision."

"I see."

At least they didn't spend their own money. I knew that my father's company pay minimum wage and these people probably have no money to waste.

It only took a few minutes to reach the house. Since I didn't have work today, I decided to oversee the jobs again.

I have to apologize, but I to make sure that no one would be slacking on their jobs.

The five workers probably sensed my intention so they started working honestly.

I was just there to watch them work. Damn, so this is the feeling of being a supervisor. Just standing there, menacingly, while the people under you are sweating their asses.

My sleepy daughter then showed up. To be precise, she crawled into the room and greeted me.

"Dajjy, good mowning." She said while rubbing her eyes.

"Sweetheart, the floor is dirty here. You shouldn't crawl, here, let me help you stand."

She was yawning when I carried her up. She probably just woke up.

Her room was getting renovated and it was dirty. The smell of paint and other materials was lingering.

"Dajjy, you don't work today?"

"Yes. Daddy will stay in the house."

"Yay! Then we can play today!"

"Sweetheart..."

I didn't know how to explain it. I have to look for the five workers so I didn't know if I could play with Sophia.

"Dajjy?"

She looked at me with her adorable ocean eyes and I felt guilty.

"... Okay, I will play with you. But you have to wash your face first. Your eyes have boogers!"

"Eww!"

I made fun of her and she grimaced. She ran towards her mother and asked to clean her face.

Penelope glanced at me before taking our daughter to the bathroom to wash.

When Sophia came out of the bathroom, her face was clean and fresh.

"Dajjy! I'm beautiful now!" She yelled and hugged my leg.

"That's right!"

I rubbed her face and she giggled "Hehe".

"Sophia is too much. Look what she did to me."

The next person who came out of the bathroom was my wife. Penelope sighed because her dress was all wet. It seemed that Sophia caused some trouble while getting washed.

"Sophia, promise me that you will not cause your mother any trouble."

I said to my daughter and she nodded.

"Okay! But I want a pink teddy bear!"

"Good, just don't forget your promise."

"Yay!"

She then started running to the television to watch her favorite show in the morning-- Dora the Explorer and Blue's Clues.

"Do you think she will remember her promise?" I turned to my wife.

"What do you think?" She smirked.

We both know the answer. Sophia would forget it. She is a baby after all. She will never take things seriously. Perhaps tomorrow she will make her mother's dress wet again.

I shook my head knowing that Sophia need to grow up before understanding our intention. Indeed, it's hard to discipline a child. Perhaps we are already grateful that Roman is a sensible kid.

Speaking of Roman, the young boy came out of his room frowning.

He looked at us and greeted us in a weak voice. I didn't even know what he said.

Then, he went to the kitchen and took a look at the fridge. He pulled out milk and prepared cereal.

"Bwother are you going to make a ceweal? Me too! Pwease I want one."

Sophia realized that Roman was going to make a bowl of cereal and she ran towards him.

"Go ask Mom instead. You broke a glass last time."

"... Hick, hick waaaa!! Wuuwuuwuwu!"

Sophia started crying...

I swear, kids are easy to cry. Penelope looked at me and we both sighed.

"Bwother bad! Bwother bad! Wuuwuuwuwu." She was sniveling.

"Sophia, we just cleaned your face and you are crying already. Here, Mommy will prepare cereal for you."

"Thanks, Mommy... I wuv you."

Sophia smiled with tears in her eyes. She hugged Penelope's leg and rubbed her face against her mother... Now, Penelope's dress had more stains.

I realized that this might be the usual scene in the house every morning... I think going to the shop is not that bad. Talking to the customers is much easier than keeping the kids in peace.

"Wife, do you need help?"

Just to ease my wife's job, I decided to help her.

"Husband... Just boil the milk, it's bad for Sophia to drink cold drinks in the morning."

Penelope smiled at me even though Sophia was rubbing her snot across her legs.

"Okay."
