Chapter 315 - Gan Ning Will Soon Be Happy

"System, please use the Warriors Hall Cube." Dom asked as he stood beside his large collection of Warriors Halls. He had also requested that the Grade C - Eastern Wu Expert Jian Naval Marines Warriors Hall from Jia was moved to Riverside as well, so that the Marines could go through additional training before moving to either Renatus or Jia. He needed to speak with his Naval Heroes, but he still planned for training to take place at Serenity where Artemisia was based, as she was the most experienced Trireme Hero in the Kingdom.

[Placing Warriors Hall....]

The ground shook, with the regular Riverside Residents and Warriors continuing with their daily lives, as the others all seemed to stop and look at what was happening. Dom heard some shouts from those that were training with Pullo and Huang Zhong and could imagine some had just fallen on the floor when they were mid press up. A Building like his other Warrior Halls appeared and Dom was pleasantly surprised when it was a Grade S building like the rest of them, even though it didn't mean he would get a higher grade Unit, he should at least get a higher number of daily spawns.

[Please Choose from the following; White, Red or Blue]

Dom knew that this unit would be related to Gan Ning's mission, but wasn't sure what the different colours could refer to. He hoped that White could refer to Zhao Yun's cavalry, but they weren't part of the mission and the Sun Family. After thinking for a few seconds he decided to go for white regardless, just to test his thinking more than anything as the colours didn't give him anything else to go off.

"White please." Dom replied, he realised that he should just be grateful for what ever appeared as more Warriors was great regardless.

[Choice Made, Roll Commencing..... Wudang Flying Army Archer]

[Wudang Elite Archer - Grade C+ (Can Be Upgraded)

After the death of the first emperor or Shu, Liu Bei, the southern tribes rebelled. Zhuge Liang of Shu led an army and once again conquered and pacified the southern tribes, leaving thousands of southern warriors without work. Zhuge Liang decided that rather than leave thousands of unemployed but skilled warriors behind, he would recruit them instead and created the elite unit the Wudang Flying army.

The Warriors within this army were elite tribesmen warriors who were adept at fighting in the mountains, travelling through swamps and other difficult terrain. They were exceptional archers, who could use bows, crossbows and poison arrows. They were also equipped with a variety of close range weapons such as swords, axe's and maces. They had both exceptional strength and energy, being able to wear light iron armour but travel through long and difficult terrain. They are skilled in both defence and ambush tactics.

Dom felt that he had received a niche unit that could definitely benefit his forces. He was short on Archers, with having to rely on the Horse Archers being on foot at times, the Balearic slingers who had other uses and the small amount of Archers he had from the Forbidden Guard. He had recently gained a large number through the Battle Map, however even though they were Huang Zhong and Cheng Pu's elite's, they were still below his original units in strength. The Warriors Hall Door now had a bow with a snake wrapped around it as the image.

"Show Stats!" Dom asked with some slight excitement, many of his other halls had been upgraded due to similar reasons and they had improved not only in grade but had often brought elite units with them.

Dom was happy to see that he would receive another seven warriors a day, six archers that could be sent to defend in mountain areas or work with Generals on ambush tactics. With one specified heavy infantry member, he wondered what this type of unit would be like and was excited to spawn them.

One Warrior per day would take a while to make a full unit, however that was most likely what most Lord Class players who had lower grade cities were going through. However, after seeing Li Shang's forces, Dom suspected that more players had A and B grade cities than he had originally suspected. As Dom was about to ask the system to spawn his first units, he saw two people approaching him that he had intended to avoid.

"Good Morning Lord Lazarus, do we have more Warriors?" Centurion Pullo asked politely, Pullo was one of Dom's favourite Legionaries as well as one of the most experienced.

"We do, they are Elite Archers from some tribes to the south of our last battle map." Dom replied, whilst Huang Zhong seemed to raise his eyebrow. The old Archer had accompanied Pullo whilst the Warriors they were training earlier took a short break.

"South of Jiangxia?" Huang Zhong asked with a look of thought.

"South of Shu I believe." Dom replied, not knowing the geography particularly well. He had done some research before returning to the game, but hadn't thought of looking at the geography of ancient China.

"The Nanman then possibly, or the many tribes that made up that area." He exhaled, "A wild bunch of warriors, tattooed and deadly."

"A bit like our Celtic Mercenaries that now form a few of our Centuries." Pullo replied with a shrug of his shoulders, more open to different types of Warriors than the older General.

"System, please do the daily spawn." Dom asked as the two stood beside him.

The doors opened and seven tall, tanned men walked through the door. They had a variety of tattoos on their exposed skin, which was protected by thin iron armour and fur. Six of them had small weapons on their sides such as axes or swords, whilst in their hands were compact bows. The seventh member was taller and wielding a large hammer, with an animal skin cloak. Dom planned to use the Blue Elite Warrior Cube next, knowing that these were specialised cubes and would most likely have to be used on this building.

Before he used it however, the seven warriors in front of him all bowed in greeting, whilst one of the Archers with a scratch mark on his face from a wild animal introduced himself. He also wore different fur to the other Archers and Dom could tell he would be an elite among the elites.

"Lord, I am Meng Ai, me and my men great you and swear loyalty to you and your Kingdom." He stated seriously.

"Welcome, we are glad to have you join us." Dom replied kindly, as he looked over the muscular Warrior with the large double handed hammer. He wondered who would win in a fight between him and Actumerus the Batavi Emperor Guard.

"May I hold your bow?" Huang Zhong asked from beside Dom, stepping forwards and taking it from the new Archer, which Dom expected would become the Centurion for the first unit of Archers. Meng Ai passed his bow to Huang Zhong, who pulled the string back with ease, whilst the muscles in his arms tensed. He then gently released the string and handed it back to Meng Ai. "An impressive Bow, I look forward to seeing you in action later."

Meng Ai looked confused by the comment, but Pullo then stepped in and explained that they were currently training a large number of Archers and that Meng Ai and his men were welcome to join them, not knowing the type of training they were going through. As they talked, Dom pulled out the Blue Elite Warrior Cube and asked the system to use it. He wasn't given a choice of which Warriors Hall and the doors automatically opened behind Meng Ai.

Another hundred and forty Archers appeared in similar clothes to Meng Ai, showing their elite quality. Behind them arrived around forty Heavy Infantry that wielded Hammers similar to the one that had already spawned or double handed Axes or Heavy Halberds. Pullo directed them all to the training ground that had been built, whilst Dom wondered how to incorporate these new units in to his force.

"Formation breakers." Huang Zhong commented as he watched them go.

"Formation breakers?" Dom asked him, not sure what he meant.

"Those Heavy Infantry can be in the second row of a formation, when the main infantry creates a small opening, these can charge through and destroy enemy formations." Huang Zhong commented, "An elite unit that can win a battle. They need to be kept in one army whilst they are built in force."

"Are they that good?" Dom asked in surprise, understanding what he meant. The Archers were a huge opportunity, able to ambush and either protect the Kingdom or work in certain terrains of battle, however the Heavy Infantry could be key.

"From what I have heard, they are yes." Huang Zhong agreed, "I look forward to testing them out later against some of mine and Cheng Pu's men. Pullo is already trying to convert them in to Legionaries!"

"How is that going?" Dom asked him with a smile, seeing the older man was in deep thought.

"Slowly, but I understand his tactics. I have met your Official Crassus, he said he will help us with the training." Huang Zhong replied seriously, "There are a lot of new tactics to learn, but it is exciting!"

Dom agreed and went to use the second Blue Cube, hoping it would give him some more Archers and Heavy Infantry. Huang Zhong said he would stay with him for a few more minutes before joining with Pullo.

"System, please use the second Blue Cube?" Dom asked politely.

[Can Not Be Used On Warriors Hall]

"Where can I use it?" Dom asked in surprise, both of these Blue Cubes had said they were in specialised, so he had expected this one to be the same.

[Please Use Near a Docks or Shipyard]

Dom said goodbye to Huang Zhong and headed excitedly towards the Shipyard, realising that this cube may bring him another Louchuan which would cement their domination of Tongpai Lake. Once Tongpai Lake's fleet was up and running, they could then expand through the Calm River and move their Trireme fleet to the sea to defend and explore there instead.

He soon approached the Shipyard, where Himilco was having a conversation with Dom's new General Ling Tong and Gan Ning, the two seemingly getting on now they were both in Riverside. Gan Ning was much older than the Gan Ning that Ling Tong knew, and was treating Ling Tong as a younger brother.

"It is definitely an impressive way of construction." Ling Tong stated to Himilco.

"Yes it is, I appreciate you helping out, any pair of hands if helpful at the moment!" Himilco complained in response.

"Good Afternoon!" Dom interrupted as he arrived with Gregorios and Trojan behind him.

"Good Afternoon Lord Lazarus!" Himilco welcomed, "Our Young General here has been helping me finish the construction of our most recent Trireme."

"Gan Ning said it would be good for me to see how they are built so I can better use them in battle." Ling Tong explained.

"I don't disagree!" Dom laughed, "How have you found it?"

"Really exciting, the passion put in to each ship is much different than I expected, it is just a shame we have so many Mengchong's that need fixing!" Ling Tong complained.

"I have sent some to the Jia shipyard for now." Gan Ning added, taking over from Ling Tong. "I think within the next week or so all of the Mengchong's will be battle ready."

"How is our fleet of Trireme looking?" Dom asked, looking towards both Himilco and Gan Ning.

"Twelve Trireme and four Bireme." Himilco replied with a smile, "We have three in construction whilst our other two slots are fixing Mengchong's that you have acquired."

"How about crews?" Dom asked, happy that the new Sea Fleet was now up to sixteen ships.

"With our new arrivals, they can be fully crewed and partially trained in two weeks." Gan Ning replied, "The key part is the training, a lot of our new recruits have rowed, but not in this style. We also should have some excess crew for the newer ship as well."

"How many are battle ready?" Dom asked, as this was the key requirement for him.

"Six are fully crewed and trained enough for an excursion. The Galatea, Sibylla, Enyo, Calypso, Echo and Cyrene." Gan Ning replied without needing to think, "The Bireme's are also battle ready but would be better for exploration and defence. The other six Trireme need their new crews trained at Serenity."

"Six is enough for now, we need them ready for the Cove and then to protect our transport ships for Fort building in the south." Dom explained to Gan Ning who nodded in response.
