When Arthur returned to Celestial Brew via a [gate], what welcomed him was a surprise in the form of a fallen angel, who was wearing a barista dress behind the coffee counter; the said fallen angel was wiping a glass.
Arthur's eyebrow rose, seeing the scene. "I completely forgot about Raynare after I cast charm on her." Arthur murmurs to himself. "I remember her last order was to stand in her room or something. Did she really just stand there?" That's probably the case; in normal cases charm magic will lose its effect, but Arthur's incubus was the ruler of lust, which, although mean, has the highest level of charm magic of anyone. If determined, he can make all the people in the world, who are not upper eons of God, his loyal puppets.
Looking around, there were only two customers in the place. Arthur didn't pry into the reason why, even though Celestial Brew is one of the best coffee places on earth, there was still no rush, most probably because Renner or Evileye cast some magic to keep a low number.
Which was good for Arthur, as he also didn't like overly crowded places.
"I heard that something happened in Nazarick." Evileye, who sneaked up on me, said as she landed on my shoulder, putting her head between her legs. Arthur didn't say anything to Evileye, who suddenly sat on his shoulder.
"You didn't need to worry; I already took care of it," Arthur lied. He didn't come up with a plausible plan to take back the semi-world-class item, but he wasn't much worried about it either. Since he is the one who made that, he knows its power inside out. And since it was his Demon Golem avatar that made the item, if he turned it to that form, he could exactly pinpoint where the item is.
And since Friday is currently looking for a way not to kill his children, he didn't want to engage with them. "Should I just kill Ouroboros then?" Which would stop the cloud that was hiding his children's futures.
"What do you mean?" Evileye said I off the top of my head as she heard Arthur's murmur. "If you kill Ouroboros, doesn't it mean that you would need to wait much longer for Yggdrasil's Leaf, and there is also an increase in world corruption, isn't there?"
Hearing that, Arthur nodded, since initially Arthur was supposed to sacrifice New World, which he transmigrated to, to plant Yggdrasil, but at the last minute he became goody-two-shoes. He changed the current world to DXD, not that he regrets it or anything, but that decision has some complications.
One of those complications is Excluded Ones. A being of great power within the worlds of Yggdrasil, who died but is reincarnated in other worlds within Yggdrasil. Sometimes the reincarnation would corrupt the world they resided in, to the point it would become a cancer to Yggdrasil. Within Yggdrasil, it was Antares' duty to destroy those worlds, but there were times when Excluded Ones came to this world. And it's the duty of Great Red and Ouroboros to prevent that.
The first fight Arthur gave Great Red and Ouroboros was to put them in this duty. Since the Excluded Ones often times came through the dimensional gap, Arthur thought it was good to put the residency of the dimensional gap to guard instead of someone from Nazarick.
Because of that Great Red and Ouroboros play a crucial role in keeping the world from the chaos of the Otherworlder.
And Great Red and Ouroboros also help with fast ripening of Yggdrasil leaves for Arthur to make world-class items. Because of that, killing them in a fit would only bring overall loss.
"So many complications. Oh, by the way, when did Raynare start working here?" Arthur asked, looking at the fallen angel. From the looks of it, she was still in the charm state.
"Poor girls become unconscious after standing for a week straight without eating or drinking." Evileye gives Arthur a karate chop. "She was really in death's door; if I hadn't heard her falling sound, I wouldn't have known that she was still here. Do you really have to be this cruel to her? And it was too much work to clean her after. When you charm someone as punishment, at least tell her to go to the toilet and do her business there. Renner needs to bring Golem to clean that room."
Seems like it got shitty.
"Sorry, I actually forgot about her. I was planning to hand her over to Azazel, but she has settled here, so that wouldn't be necessary. And you still haven't removed Charm, right?"
Evileye shook her head. "No. Since it was your magic, I can't even if I want to."
"Alright then, we can dispel that charm tonight after the shop is closed, and by the way, where is Renner? I didn't see her."
"She's gone to Nazarick to get the essential." Evileye said as she ran her hand through Arthur's hair, and then she suddenly blushed. "Hey, since we have time, can we go upstairs?"
"To do what exactly." Arthur smiled lightly as his tone suggested teasing.
"You know...Like stuff."
"What stuff? I don't understand." Arthur's hands showily run through Evileye's thighs, who is still sitting on his shoulders. Due to her vampire nature, it was cold in sensations, but Arthur felt like he was teasing. The temperature started rising due to excessive blushing.
"Ahhhh~~~ Forget it. If you didn't want to, then don't." Evileye said with a pout as her cheeks started blushing. She didn't like how Arthur treated her when she gave him an invite.
"There is no take-back. Let's go upstairs."
