Chapter 12 - FORCE

Abhi:

"It's not about liking her, Dad! She should feel comfortable around me — that's what matters!"

His father:(smirking)

"Ohh... so now you've started caring about her? That was quick!"

"And once you both get married, everything will settle. You'll have all the time to understand each other then!"

Abhi:(shaking his head)

"You're not understanding me at all, Dad!"

"Just listen to me — just once. If things don't go well between us later, don't blame us."

"Because you are the one forcing this."

"And let me be clear — if she's not comfortable with me, I'm not even going to touch her!"

His father:(with a smug laugh)

"Time will tell, son. Let's see how long you keep that promise."

"When a boy and girl live under the same roof... anything can happen. It's only natural, right?"

Abhi:(firmly, with anger)

"Don't talk like that! I'm not that type of person, okay?!"

His mother:(stepping in)

"Stop it! Both of you! What kind of nonsense are you even discussing right now?"

His father:(teasing)

"It's not nonsense, darling. It's called romance. I'm just trying to teach my stupid son how to be a good husband!"

His mother:(slaps his arm lightly)

"Please! Don't talk like this in front of him!"

Abhi:(muttering)

"Husband? There's a long way to go for that. Who knows what will happen between now and then?"

His father:(grinning)

"Exactly! That's why I've decided the marriage date too."

"It's just two days after the engagement. No more waiting. No more distance!"

"Am I right, son?"

Abhi:(shocked)

"What?! Dad, why the hell would you fix the marriage date too without even asking me?!"

His father:

"I just told you — we know what's best. Now, stop wasting time and go spend time with your fiancée."

"And ask for her phone number, too! I'm sure you haven't even thought of that yet."

Abhi:(frustrated, eyes burning)

"I don't think you're even trying to understand me, Dad. It's no use talking to you."

(He walks away a few steps, kicks a small rock on the ground. Silence falls for a moment.)

Her father:(entering the scene)

"You'll do what we tell you to do. There's no need to ask more questions."

Ishana:(stepping forward, voice shaking slightly)

"But at least give me the right to speak about my own life."

"And what if we aren't compatible? What if we ruin each other's lives?"

Her father:

"You'll be fine after marriage. That's how it works."

"Now, enough arguments. Go find your fiancé and get to know him better."
