Chapter 53 - YOU THINK EVERY ONE IS LIKE YOU

Sophia: So protective already!

You're not even married to her yet, and you're acting like this?

Abhi: You guys just… don't know the whole story.

I'm the only one who actually wants this marriage.

She doesn't.

If her family hadn't pressured her… this wouldn't even be happening. Not even in my dreams.

And to be honest, I don't know what she's going to do next.

I'm scared… scared that she might run from our wedding.

You know what's crazy?

The first time I saw her—time literally stopped.

It was just like a movie. Everything else faded out.

I couldn't take my eyes off her. She was… radiant.

But the worst part?

She didn't even notice me.

She was staring at another man—right in front of me.

I was just standing there… speechless.

Kevin: Whoa. That's complicated.

Didn't you say she liked you too? That she always came out and stared at you?

Abhi: Yeah, I thought she did. It felt like that.

But when I asked her about it… it turned out to be something else entirely.

She told me she goes out there just to walk, to listen to music, to find peace.

That's it.

And when I asked why she was always looking at me…

She said,

"If someone stares at me every day, of course I'd get curious. I wanted to know what you were always looking at."

Kevin: (bursting into laughter) What the hell, bro!

You really thought she was in love with you?!

Meanwhile, she was just weirded out by the guy staring up at her !

(I took a long sip of beer, letting the cold bitterness distract me from their teasing.)

Alex: (laughing) You're really something bro.

You just assumed she liked you?

Abhi: (shrugging) What could I do?

The situation looked like that.

Anyone would've thought the same.

Sophia: I still don't believe it.

There's no way she doesn't like you, at least a little.

You should confirm it again.

Abhi: Didn't I just say I asked her?

Sophia: Yeah… but I'm telling you, that's not the full truth.

I can feel it. She definitely likes you—she's just not showing it.

Justin: (grinning) Baby, not everyone is like you.

Sophia: (narrowing her eyes) What's that supposed to mean?

Kevin: (quickly) Nothing! He didn't mean anything. Don't mind him. Just ignore the guy.

Abhi: Anyway… whatever it is, that's the full story.

No fairytales. No perfect love story. Just... reality.

Nick: (grinning mischievously) Alright, alright. But tell me this—how much progress have you made?

Abhi: Progress?

Nick: Yeah… with your fiancée.

Like, any moments? Intimacy? Kisses?

Abhi: (rolling my eyes) Nothing like that.

We're just getting engaged tomorrow, not married yet.

Kevin: (elbowing him playfully) Oh come on! Don't play innocent with us.

Abhi: I'm serious, guys. I haven't even touched her.

Nick:Seriously? Bro, you're getting engaged to her and you haven't even held her hand?

How is that even possible?

Abhi: It's possible… because I'm me. Not you.

Krish: (laughs) Yup!

Nick thinks every guy is like him—full of wild stories and zero boundaries.

(Everyone bursts out laughing. The mood lightens. The music in the background shifts to something upbeat as the club's energy builds. But between the jokes, there's an unspoken respect growing for Abhi—for his patience, his honesty, and his silent hope.)
