Chapter 126 - THE WEDDING

INT. ABHI'S ROOM – SAME TIME

ABHI sits as the male makeup artist dusts powder across his jawline. His sherwani — deep maroon with gold detailing — hangs in the background, regal and ready.

His cousins burst in.

ERIC

"Ready to become a slave for life?"

MARK

"Smile, bro. It's not jail. It just looks like it."

ABHI

(chuckling softly, but lost in thought)

"I'm just glad she didn't run."

His smile is small, but meaningful. This day mattered. And it was finally here. No drama. No last-minute freak-outs.

– THE WEDDING CEREMONY

Abhi arrives like a movie star — stepping out of a shiny black car, music blasting, swag level 100.

He adjusts his shades, smiles at the crowd, and joins the wild baraat that's already gone out of control.

Frida and Erric are dancing like they've had 3 cans of Red Bull each.

Kevin starts a breakdance on the grass (and instantly regrets it).

nick and Sophia are hyping up the crowd like MCs at a rave.

🌸 The Bride's Entry — Soft Music & Loud Jokes

Then, the music changes. Everything slows.

Ishana appears — stunning in her lehenga, glowing like a queen.

She walks slowly under the flower canopy, held by Mark, Yash, jolly, middle bro and youngest bro.

Everyone watches in silence… until the friends ruin the moment beautifully.

Friends Drop First-Night Jokes (Loud & Proud)

Luca (shouting):

"Abhi, enjoy the silence now. Tonight, no mute button!"

Tom:

"Don't forget to hydrate, bro. Big night ahead!"

Pooja:

"Ishana, blink twice if you need backup later!"

Rocky:

"We packed baby oil in your gift. Don't ask questions."

Sophia (to the crowd):

"Should we start a timer for how long before someone screams?"

Even the aunties are laughing, covering their mouths with their dupattas.

Ishana blushes, but she's grinning. Abhi looks like he's considering running away….

Varmala Time — And Minor Chaos

Nick and Olivia lift Abhi way too high.

Maya and Rashmi try to lift Ishana but give up and just shove her forward.

Flower petals fly. Cheers go wild.

Some kid yells, "KISS HER!" — and instantly gets dragged away by an uncle.

Rituals Begin — The Priest Has Had Enough

The priest clears his throat, looks at the wild group, and sighs loudly.

The Priest start to Explain the Traditions

Priest (calmly):

"Okay, listen. You all clearly need a crash course in marriage."

Mangalsutra

"This is not just a necklace. It's a promise. A symbol that says — 'I choose you, and I'll stand by you. Even at your worse.'"

Sindoor

"This is not just red powder. It's a mark that says — 'She's taken. And proud of it.' It shows love, respect, and commitment. Not property — but partnership."

Pheras

"There are seven rounds. Each one is a promise:

We'll share everything from room to life.

We'll care for each other, even when one of us is annoying.

We'll respect each other's families — even the weird ones.

We'll laugh together, especially when life isn't funny.

We'll build a home, not just a house.

We'll be friends, not just spouses.

And we'll keep choosing each other — every day."

Everyone claps.

Some people tear up.

Justin whispers to Alice: "Now I kinda want to get married too. Maybe."

The Pheras Begin — With Whispers and Wholesome Vibes

Abhi and Ishana walk around the fire, hand in hand.

The room is quiet. Only the fire crackles and the priest's chants fill the air.

During the last round, Abhi brushes his hand against Ishana's. She smiles, calm and glowing.

Middle brother (whispers to Youngest):

"Bro. That's it. Abhi is officially locked in."

Youngest bro:

"Yep. Game over. Married mode activated."

As the final prayer is said, and the couple stands up…

Abhi's mom wipes her tears with a corner of her saree.

His dad pats her back, pretending not to cry.

Ishana's dad whispers to her mom: "Can we start planning grandkids now?"

Jolly and Jenni ,looking at them as they seems to be happy even though its arrange, they didn't want to marry at all but still they looked happy.... But aren't we!?

The pheras are done. The final prayer ends. The couple stands — officially, undeniably married.

Abhi and Ishana start walking through the line of elders to seek blessings.

Ishana's nani holds both their hands, pressing them warmly.

Nani (smiling):

"Stay strong together. Forgive quickly. And always keep snacks in the house."

Abhi's chachu (grinning):

"And never fight at night. Fight in the morning — when you're both too tired to care."

They touch feet, fold hands, smile a thousand times. Ishana hugs her mom tight; Abhi does a mock-salute to his dad, who tries (and fails) to look stern but just pulls him into a hug.

Then… the friends begin to circle.

It's subtle at first. Just a vibe. Too much smirking. Too much whispering.

Abhi spots them all huddled — Nick, Sophia, Rocky, Pooja, Kevin, Luca, Frida, Erric. Even Mark and Khushi are there now, trying to pretend they're above the madness. They are not.

The moment Abhi and Ishana approach, the group explodes into a chaotic hug — arms flailing, laughter echoing, and someone nearly knocking over a flower stand.

Nick (mock-serious):

"Group photo with the newly bedded— sorry, wedded couple!"

Pooja (grinning):

"So how are we doing this — vanilla, whipped cream, or full tantric?"

Sophia (to Ishana, holding her shoulders):

"Remember, girl. Pace yourself. It's a marathon. Not a sprint."

Suddenly, Luca pulls out a tiny gift bag and hands it to Abhi.

Abhi (suspicious):

"Why is it vibrating?"

Luca (smirking):

"Open it and don't ask questions."

Abhi peeks inside — his face goes blank. Ishana leans in, sees the contents, then SNORTS with laughter.

Inside?

A pack of glow-in-the-dark condoms.

A mini bottle of lube labeled "Fuel for Love".

And a note: "For emergency turbulence."

Kevin (leaning in):

"We got your back. And front. And… whatever positions you're into."

Erric:

"Just avoid the chandelier. That's all I'm saying."

Rocky (deadpan):

"Pro tip: If no one gets injured, you're not doing it right."

Ishana (laughing but blushing):

"You all are actual criminals."

Then Mark, ever the calm one, takes a step forward. He clears his throat.

Mark (dead serious):

"In the spirit of friendship and survival, I just want to share what my therapist once told me: Communication is key. Especially when someone yells, 'Wrong hole!'"

The group dies.

Khushi smacks his arm, horrified:

"MARK!"

Mark (shrugging):

"What? It's good advice!"

Jolly (still laughing, to Jenni):

"This is why we don't bring friends to weddings."

Jenni:

"And we love them for it."

Sophia (to the group):

"Okay, okay — but real talk. How long till Abhi faints from nervousness tonight?"

Tom (holds up a phone):

"I've got a stopwatch ready."

Pooja (to Ishana):

"Blink twice if you want us to sneak in a rescue cat as a distraction."

Even the nearby aunties can't help themselves — they're whispering behind their dupattas, watching the group like it's a Netflix show.

Abhi, now red-faced but laughing, turns to Ishana.

Abhi:

"Should we fake a medical emergency?"

Ishana (grinning):

"Nope. You're stuck with this circus. Forever."

Nick (raising a toast with his empty champagne glass):

"To love, laughter, and awkward wedding night memories!"

They all raise their glasses — real and imaginary — and cheer.

Nick (grinning ear to ear):

"Here come the lovebirds turned legal! Welcome to the contract of cuddles... and chaos."

Abhi (half-laughing):

"I came here to take blessings, not psychological damage."

Then Pooja holds up her phone.

Pooja (mock serious):

"Okay, so I made a fertility tracking spreadsheet for you guys — shared it with both your emails."

Ishana (coughs on her own laughter):

"You WHAT?!"

Luca (cutting in):

"Look, we're just trying to optimize your honeymoon ROI. Babies are trending, okay?"

Tom (to Abhi):

"Don't stress, bro. First one's always practice. By the second kid, you'll know what goes where."

Khushi (mortified):

"GUYS. Oh my god. Chill. Can they at least get through the first night before you start building the nursery?"

Mark (deadpan, arms crossed):

"Seriously. Let them enjoy the honeymoon phase. You all sound like Amazon is delivering the baby next Tuesday."

Abhi (to Ishana, whispering):

"Can we move? Like countries?"

Ishana (laughing):

"Nope. You married me. And them. This is forever."

Then someone — no one knows who — pulls a fast one and slips a box of condoms into Abhi's sherwani pocket. Subtle. Smooth.

Erric (with a wink):

"This is a symbolic gift. For… preventing symbolic babies."

Tom (leaning in):

"Honestly though, enjoy it. The first few nights are like bonus rounds before real life shows up with laundry and joint taxes."

Frida (to Ishana, mock whisper):

"If you get bored, just play dead. Works in the animal kingdom."

Ishana can barely stand from laughing. Abhi looks like he's both glowing and panicking.

Mark (raising a fake toast):

"To love, laughter, lube, and letting them breathe before you start planning Baby Abhi 2.0."

Khushi (softly to Ishana):

"Ignore them. Take your time. Make memories. Not pressure."

Sophia (not missing a beat):

"Make both! Memories and a baby!"

Everyone cheers.

As the teasing dies down, the couple finally gets to exhale.

Abhi squeezes Ishana's hand.

Abhi:

"So this is what married life looks like?"

Ishana (smiling):

"Apparently, it comes with free condoms, fertility charts, and zero personal space."

Abhi:

"At least there's you."

Ishana:

"And a bag full of glow-in-the-dark regrets."

They both laugh,

WEDDING VENUE – NIGHT – VIDAAI

The farewell begins.

Ishana, tearful now, hugs her mom tightly. Khushi wipes her own eyes behind her sunglasses, pretending she's fine.

ISHANA'S MOM

(softly)

"Don't fight too much, okay? And if he ever makes you cry—call me. I'll handle him."

ISHANA

(sniffling, nodding)

"You packed everything?"

KHUHI

"Even the pink socks you hate. Thank me later."

Abhi waits by the decorated car, still dressed, now solemn. Everyone gathers, eyes glossy, as the couple moves toward the car.

Just then, his uncle claps his hands.

UNCLE

"Okay! So hotel room's ready! First night planned. Champagne and all. Beta, don't thank me—"
