Chapter 158 - The Nights of Masquerade 1

My mind was still in a muddled riot after all I had heard from Maximillian's mouth last night, and we had been scrambling ever since to confirm and deal with all the sudden information we'd received.

But we unfortunately had to pause by the time the sun set, because the awaited first Nights of Masquerade, the introductory event of the two hundredth and nineteenth Banquet of Concordia was about to begin; an event I despised even more now, since not only will it hinder my search for Eve, but would now also halt our preparations for what I classified as vital work for the continued survival of all I held dear.

Sighing in exasperation as several maids from the Shade Corps helped me slip into the costume prepared for me by the Astrapi kingdom, I looked at Isaac through the reflection of the full body mirror before me, and asked in hope "How goes the search? Have you found a trace of her yet?"
