His mentality was too shaken to think about those things.

All that existed was the questions that never ended and the pain that would come if he failed to answer truthfully.

The stress for him was too intense to the point that he could not handle it anymore.

The pain was just too much for him that he had passed out a couple of times or was close to it, but he was drawn back with the use of smelling salts.

He could not even gain a brief escape by losing consciousness.

He soon realised how death would likely be his only escape.

That was all that would grant him some form of release.

His captor was relentless in the way they only did so much to him that he was able to suffer, but he would not truly die from it.

The blood loss he had suffered was not too much as a result of them taking the time to wrap their wounds a little if they were too bad.

They were fully prepared for him bleeding out or anything else that could happen during the interrogation.
