That experience where things were so close that they could have gone either way in those last moments had been a big eye-opener for Ash.
They had shown her that even when she was careful and steady, things could still be very difficult to overcome, and even the smallest of things could decide victory or defeat.
Success or failure would be determined by those small variables, and the variable that could push her closer toward success or failure could end up being a very small decision of hers that was less tactical and more based on her own wants or needs.
