That would usually be the case, but depending on various factors, those maximum payments could be increased slightly, even if they were modified by a small percentage, but nowhere near being double the base price.
At most, the prices would be one and a half times higher than the base payment rates.
Not every place would pay the same, but there would at least be a bare minimum that would be agreed upon in advance before any Balancer families or organisations took on such jobs.
If they were just being hired to deal with E-grade Spirits or Evil Spirits, then they would have to exorcise quite a lot of them for it to be worth them coming out to deal with them, especially since they had to worry about their costs of living and other daily expenses.
There could also be additional incentives involved depending on who was hiring the Balancers, as there would be cases where conditions would be attached for additional payments.
