Y/n POV
We were outside the building when I saw James looking at us. I got out of the car, and Kayden did the same. He walked over to me and gave me a hug.
Kayden: "Ooh, I wish I could spend more time with you."
I gently pulled away from the hug and smiled.
"Tomorrow. Office."
He smiled back.
Kayden: "Yeah, I'll pick you up tomorrow."
I turned around, and James was walking toward me.
James: "So, you're with him, huh?"
I nodded.
"Let's go," I said.
We walked into the house. As soon as we were inside, James pulled me aside.
James: "Did he hurt you, Y/N?"
"Wh– No, James! Why would you say that?"
James: "Emma told me he's hurting you."
I sighed.
"No, Jamie. He's not. Actually... he's been nice to me."
James: "He has feelings for you, doesn't he?"
I sighed again.
"Yeah."
James: "And you? Do you feel the same?"
"No, James." I said honestly. Because yes, I thought I liked Kayden at some point. But after that incident… I think he just wants my body, not me. Or maybe… maybe I was wrong.
James: "Good. Because Y/N, Cassie told me he's not a good person."
He pulled me toward the kitchen.
James: "Let's eat."
I sat down.
"Well… Cassie told me that you're also dangerous."
James: "What?!"
I nodded.
"Yes."
James: "Fine. Actually... I was dangerous—for her. Maybe that's why she told you that."
I nodded, and we quietly ate dinner.
After a while, I stood up. "I'm going to sleep."
James: "Actually, wait."
He grabbed some ice cream.
James: "I ordered the food, so…"
He handed me a chocolate ice cream. I smiled. We ate together, then I went to my room and he went to his.
I was about to sleep when my phone buzzed. I sighed, already guessing who it was. Mr. Annoying.
I picked up.
"H–"
Mr. Annoying: "Do you live with that guy?"
"Y-Yeah… I mean, Emma's not here and I was alone, so—"
Mr. Annoying: "Did you ask me?"
"No, but I'm looking for a room. I'll move out soon," I said quickly.
Mr. Annoying: "Fine. I'll let it slide this time. But I'm sending someone tomorrow to stay with you."
I froze. "No—"
He hung up before I could finish.
I sighed, tossing my phone aside and trying to fall asleep. But suddenly, the lights went out.
I sat up, heart skipping a beat. I picked up my phone, turned on the flashlight, and stepped out of my room.
"James?" I called out softly.
But before I could take another step, someone grabbed me from behind. My phone slipped from my hand and hit the ground with a soft thud.
"Ah—!" I tried to cry out, but a hand quickly covered my mouth.
???: "It's me, my love," the voice whispered against my ear. Stupid thief.
He kissed the side of my neck, sending a chill down my spine.
???: "I'm going to take my hand off now. You better not scream."
I nodded hesitantly. Slowly, he pulled his hand away.
I turned around cautiously—only for him to scoop me up suddenly, wrapping my legs around his torso with ease.
???: "Let's take you to your room," he said, his voice low and close. Our faces were just inches apart.
He kissed me, unbothered by the silence I gave him.
???: "You're not struggling, love."
He was right. I wasn't.
I gave a small wiggle, and he laughed quietly, almost amused by my weak attempt to resist.
???: "You're so cute."
He started kissing my face—everywhere.
"S-Stop," I said, squirming a little.
???: "Why? Are you going to lose control because of this?"
I shook my head quickly.
"I–It's tickling," I admitted.
He laughed again, clearly amused.
We got on the bed, and he gently settled down beside me.
???: "So… my baby is okay?"
I nodded.
"I have questions to ask you." I needed to ask—I had to.
???: "Let me kiss you first."
He climbed on top of me and kissed me deeply.
"N–No."
He stopped.
???: "Fine then. Just sleep."
He turned me around so my back was pressed against his chest, holding me close.
"Who are you?" I asked softly.
He didn't answer.
I wiggled a little, trying to get a reaction—but there was only silence behind me.
???: "Sleep, Y/N... or I'll do something."
I froze, stunned by his words. Quickly, I shut my eyes.
Strangely, his presence made me feel relaxed. I didn't know why—but it felt… good. Safe, even.
I'll get up before him, I thought. I'll see his face.
But I didn't even realize when I drifted off.
_________
Morning
I opened my eyes quickly—but the bed beside me was empty. He was gone.
"Aah! I missed my chance!" I groaned, flopping back on the pillow.
"Can't you get up early for once, Y/N?" I muttered to myself in frustration.
I get up and did my morning routine and go to the kitchen but I heard door bell rang
"Hey," I said as I opened the door. A girl so tall and masculer she is pretty her makeup was little too much she blink her eyes I smile
???: "Actually, I heard you were looking for a roommate."
I sighed softly and nodded. "Y-Yeah... please, come inside."
She stepped in with a big bag slung over her shoulder, her smile still calm and graceful. As she entered, James appeared behind me, his eyes narrowing slightly when he saw her.
James: "Who is she?"
"I—James, actually, I've been looking for a roommate… and she's here for that."
He stared at me for a second. I could see the disappointment flicker in his eyes before he looked away.
James: "Okay. We'll talk about this later."
I nodded, swallowing hard.
???: "If he lives here, then—"
"Aah, no! No, he was just here for a while. I mean… you can stay. Really."
She smiled, seemingly satisfied with the answer.
James came up with a bag, not even sparing me a glance as he moved past.
He walked straight to the girl.
James: "That's your room, miss. And here—" he handed her a small card, "—take my number. If anything happens to her, call me."
I felt my chest tighten. Guilt hit me hard.
"J-James—" I called softly.
James paused but didn't meet my eyes.
James: "We'll talk later. I'll pick you up from the office, okay?"
And just like that, he turned and left.
I sighed, my heart sinking as the door clicked shut behind him.
