The next week was full of classes and rescue missions for Atsushi and Saya, alongside Basuki, Myeong, and their spirit guardians. They are particularly successful in both of those fields But one day, they are at Yeager's office because Yeager will be assigning on an unofficial, official collaboration in a mission with…
"Wait, what?" Atsushi said to Yeager. "Us?"
"Yes," responded Yeager back briefly and nicely, "you, Basuki-kun, and Myeong-chan will be going on your first mission as backups."
"Okay…"
"What mission to be exact, sir?" Myeong asked back.
"You will be with the Shinoa squad in Shibuya," Yeager answered back, "and go with them to their headquarters."
Atsushi and his friends are very stunned to hear that.
"Shinoa squad?"
"Them?"
"Yes, they are from the Imperial Demon Army," replied Yeager back. "Remember the time I called you kids here to inform you what was their recent happenings?
The three kids then remembered that time and nodded.
"Good, now the three of you will be assigned to that squad in Nagoya."
Basuki and Myeong are stunned once more, and Atsushi confirms to them that he knows that squad very well.
"Exactly, Atsushi-kun," Yeager said to Atsushi.
Basuki and Myeong gets it and connected the dots of the fact that Atsushi has friends in the Imperial Demon Army.
"So, can you do that for me?" Yeager asked them.
Then, Atsushi nodded with determination. "Yes, we'll do it."
Myeong then nodded in agreement.
"Good," Yeager responded back.
He then looked at Basuki. "You know what to do, Basuki-kun."
Basuki then eventually nodded in determined seriousness. "Yes, sir, we won't let you down."
Yeager then looked at Kai. "Son, you're assigned with them."
"Yes, dad!" Kai said with determination as his spirit guardian Tō bowed his head as if bowing to a corporate manager.
With that Yeager gave them a piece of paper containing the details of their mission. "Here are the details for your first mission with them."
Basuki accepted it in his friends' behalf. "Okay then."
He then turned to his friends. "Alright, guys, let's do this."
Atsushi and Myeong then agreed, and the three of them left the office as Yeager bids farewell to them and good luck.
Later, Atsushi, Myeong, Kai, and Basuki, who are known as the Tanjung squad, are now walking down the streets towards Shibuya. They are alert with vigilance due to the threats of vampires and beastmen of the apocalypse. Along the way, Myeong and Basuki think that the Shinoa squad would not like them, and they expressed their worries and concerns to their friend. "Don't worry, guys," assured Atsushi back, "I'm sure they will get along with you guys."
"Are you sure?" Myeong replied, "I have a bad language skill in Japanese though."
"Oh, right, you're Korean."
"Yes."
"Don't worry, I can be your interpreter if you have trouble interacting with them in Japanese."
"Oh, thanks a lot."
And then, the squad had arrived at Shibuya, where Yuichiro and the Shinoa squad are resting while staying vigilant on their surroundings. It was now sundown. At this point, Yuichiro was confident with a smirk because he will face his demon and make her his friend. Yoichi, meanwhile, was sitting on a lamp post for any threats while holding his weapon. The rest are nearby on the scene with Yuichiro. Standing from a distance, the Tanjung squad are now wondering what they are doing there.
"Is that them?" Basuki asked.
Atsushi then nodded. "Yup, that's them."
He then looked at his friends. "Let's go to them, shall we?"
His squad agreed, and the three of them went towards the Shinoa squad.
But then, Yoichi spotted some beastmen from a distance, so he fired his bow weapon towards them. But, more beastmen appeared, and Yoichi was overwhelmed by their increased number. "Oh, no…there's more, guys." His squad then looked at them, and they readied their weapons.
But before the Shinoa squad would attack, the Tanjung squad responded first. They used their various weapons, which were powered by their spirit guardians. The beastmen were overwhelmed by their attacks, and shortly after, they were defeated.
This stuns the Shinoa squad, and Yuichiro was more astonished to see Atsushi again because he had thought he would never see him again.
"Atsushi-kun…?"
"Woah, it is him!"
Kai definitely stole the show when Tō hurled his eternal briefcase to one of the beastmen, and it sliced its legs before returning to his hand like a bommerang.
Myeong and Atsushi then finished that monster off with an Aura Ball and Wind Slash.
Yuichiro's jaw dropped, and he squinted his eyes, thinking he was hallucinating.
As a result, the beastmen in that area were dissipated, and the Tanjung squad looked at the Shinoa squad.
Amazed, Yoichi got off the lamp post and landed back on the ground next to his friends.
"Are you okay, guys?" Atsushi asked the squad.
"Y-Yes, we are," Shinoa replied back.
"Thank you," Kimizuki added, "for helping us."
"Yup, you're welcome," Atsushi responded happily.
And then, the Shinoa squad noticed Atsushi's small squad with him.
"Huh? Who are you guys?"
"Are you Atsushi's comrades?"
"Yes, we are," Basuki responded positively. "I'm Basuki Tanjung, the leader of this squad."
"I'm Baek Myeong," Myeong added happily. "Nice to meet you."
"Greetings to you, guys," Kai added.
