Not until dawn did Ye Li finally fall asleep in a daze from sheer exhaustion.
He was ultimately awakened by his daughter's cute little voice: "Daddy, I'm hungry. Daddy, wake up."
Ye Li opened his eyes to see Xiangxiang, wearing a pink off-shoulder nightgown, sitting on his belly.
Sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, casting a golden glow in the room.
"Xiangxiang." Ye Li smiled, a genuine smile.
"Daddy, I'm hungry," Xiangxiang said cautiously, her expression timid.
Mummy doesn't accept her charming ways, but what about Daddy?
"Okay, Daddy will take you for breakfast." Ye Li sat up, lifting Xiangxiang and kissed her little cheek.
Xiangxiang's eyes lit up with excitement: "Yay, I can eat! Daddy is so nice, I like Daddy!"
Children are simple like that, their emotions, whether happy or not, are all written on their faces.
Ye Li's heart was a mix of emotions: he had always wanted his daughter to live every day in happiness. But now...it was time to break the norm.
