Anyone who knew the king could tell that the mad devil of Kawai was not ready.
He would never be ready to live in a world that didn't have his son or his Liana.
It was already hard enough without Liana, and now he had to learn to live with the possibility that he was about to lose everything because of Yilena. That was not acceptable.
Gods would be damned before Zaffuto gave up that which belonged to his son.
"He is right, Yilena," Sadako said, like that was the one truth that neither of them could keep running from.
He wanted to go after his brother, but he had been around the king enough times to know that in moments like these, the king didn't want to be disturbed. He was probably headed to Liana's grave again.
