"Who picked up these shoes?" King Qi also heard the key point in Ye Muyu's words and asked loudly.

In the crowd, a young miss quickly stepped forward, her cheeks somewhat flushed: "Your Highness, it was... it was me."

"Was the ground around the shoes dry? Were there any signs of someone falling?" King Qi paused for a moment and asked.

The young miss seemed a bit bewildered by the question and looked at him in confusion.

King Qi remained as warm as a spring breeze, not angered by her reaction, just a bit disappointed, and softly asked, "Did you not remember?"

"I'm sorry, Your Highness, I... I didn't notice at the time, I was scared when I saw the shoes." The woman said with some embarrassment.

King Qi was helpless but knew there was nothing he could do, so he had to arrange for the servant boy beside him to go check personally.

"Miss, may I look at your shoes?" Ye Muyu suddenly spoke up.
