"Daddy said that children come from a loving union between two people, but we don't have that."
So, Yue Xin couldn't be his child.
When Yue Lian heard this, she was taken aback. "Did the empress teach you this?" she asked.
Zi Wei nodded, "Mhm."
"What else did she tell you?" Yue Lian clutched the handkerchief tightly, somewhat nervous, as if eagerly anticipating Zi Wei's answer.
"Nothing," Zi Wei shook his head. Without the feeling of affection, he knew he wouldn't have children.
But his feelings for Yue Xin were different in his heart.
"I want to see Yue Xin."
Before Yue Lian could collect herself, he made this unexpected request.
Yue Lian immediately nodded in agreement, "Okay, I'll call Xin'er."
She turned and went to Yue Xin's room, only to find the child already sprawled out on the bed, asleep in a spread-eagle position, a trail of drool bubbled by her mouth.
Yue Lian thought to herself, unsure of what Zi Wei would make of this scene.
