"(All this trouble just to prove I'm not lying. Can't wait to see what other hoops I'll have to jump through…)"
I looked up slightly, offering a simple, solemn nod to both of them.
"As I said—I am her Paladin. I speak only in truth."

(Velenya's Point of View – Transcribed from Elven Language by A.U.T.H.O.R.(The Block AI))
Back in our village, a sacred history has been passed down through generations—each generation of elves spanning centuries. This tale, nearly two thousand years old, has already been passed through over twenty generations of our kind.
It speaks of the ancient war, long ago, when the world was not as it is now. There was once a time when the gods themselves walked among mortals—when they roamed freely and blessed all races with their presence and guidance.
In those days, it was said that the Goddess of Life, Viviane, nourished all peoples through her divine grace. When one offered a sincere wish for sustenance, Viviane would create that food from the essence of life itself. That is why our world came to be filled with such rich abundance and countless varieties of food, each with its own unique flavor and spirit. This, and many more miracles, are now told only as myth among humans.
We elves remember it as truth.
That age, when gods dwelled in the world and all creation of gods are fulfilled and never lacking, was known among our kind as the Era of the Gods, or we elves' poetic speaking as, the Gods' Ear— A play of word from God Era, for it was said the gods heard the prayers of mortals directly. Humans called it the Age of Myths, or Myth Age.
But as with all history, even golden ages must pass.
That era ended when the Great War began. Monsters emerged from the unknown, bringing with them a vile and choking miasma that tainted everything it touched—even the gods themselves.
In response, the gods withdrew from the world—not out of abandonment, but to wage war in realms beyond mortal sight. They fought to shield the world from corruption, to drive back the monsters, and to seal away the miasma before it could consume all Gods Creation.
But with God leaving the World, all things lost their fulfillment and began to go lacking and lose as Gods Grace is lost, starting the End of the Era of Gods
At that time, the Age of Heroes began. The world—as we elves and other creations knew it—was thrown into turmoil by monsters that invade the world and traitors that betrayed the Gods and the world, who are now known as heathens, led by the Demon Lord. They brought corruption and destruction, spreading miasma across the land, as if signaling the end of the world.
Seeing our struggle, the Gods summoned the Heroes to the Worldto save us. Each of these summoned heroes served a God and then had the blessing of those Gods they serve. In their journey, they taught the races many things—agriculture, craftsmanship, construction, medicine and more. These teachings laid the foundation for many of the civilizations we now have, including the nations said to be founded by the very hands of those heroes' descendants.
And most of all, there was the power the Heroes wielded said Granted by the Gods theyselves—a power they called the "Game System", which we now know as the "World System", or by its much older name, the "Akashic Archive."
It is said to be the very source of the Heroes' strength and wisdom. Through the Heroes, who served as intermediaries, the Gods bestowed their blessings, granting powerful skills and abilities, all displayed through what we now call the Status Board.
With this power, and alongside the summoned Heroes and the first chosen paladins under the guidance and lead of heroes, all races united. Together, we drove back the miasma and the monsters, and ultimately slayed the heretics and their master—the Demon King.
As the Great War ended with the death of the Demon King, it is said that the Heroes returned to the grace of the Gods, along with those who followed them. And by that, I don't mean they died—they ascended, body and soul, to the realm of the Gods, which most now call the Pantheon of Gods, or as the Heroes once called it, Heaven.
It is said that even now, they aid the Gods in fending off invaders that threaten the world from beyond.
Thus came the end of the Heroic Era, what many refer to as the Age of Heroes, and in its place, the Era of Man began.
The early years of the Era of Man were said to be filled with hardship. The races of the world struggled once more to fend off the remaining monsters and purify the land tainted by miasma—just as it had been before the Heroes were first summoned.
Seeing our suffering once again, the Gods bestowed their grace and created the Labyrinths—sacred places said to be where the Gods rested after battle, and from where they watched over the world.
It is within these Labyrinths that the Paladins—also now called Apostles, chosen of each God and leaders of their people—heard the divine call:
"Come to the Labyrinths where we dwell. The land surrounding them has been cleansed of from miasma. Here, we may once again watch over you."
At that divine message, the Paladins led their people toward the Labyrinths.
But as the Labyrinths of the Gods were each located in different regions, the races of the world were forced to choose which God to follow—and thus, each race went and settled near the Labyrinth of their chosen Gods.
With that, the world was divided, and the races became isolated, separated from those who followed different Gods.
And within the Gods' Labyrinths, where the deities rest and watch over the world, the races flourished. Under the protection and guidance of their respective Gods, and with the aid of Deities who served their God, each race began to develop civilizations of their own—shaped by their unique nature, culture, and divine influence.
Now, in the Year 1938 of the Age of Man, the early centuries of this era are remembered as a time of exploration and renewed contact among the races.
Though there were conflicts and misunderstandings in those early days—feuds rooted in the different beliefs, cultures, and traditions each race had formed—we have since learned to understand one another.
From that struggle, came unity, and from unity, the foundation of the world we know today.
As such, it was no surprise that those who followed the Goddess of Souls in the past would eventually reappear and reconnect—just as we, the elves who follow Goddess Viviane, and other races who serve different gods, once did when first establishing contact with one another.
Though this kind of reunion is not unusual—being a repetition of events often told in our history—the fact that it happened again in our lifetime is nonetheless a monumental event. It may signal the beginning of new changes in this land. Without a doubt, the nations will take notice, whether their intentions be for the greater good or driven by selfish ambition.
But one thing is certain: Change is coming.
And with my intellect and foresight, upon witnessing the appearance of a Paladin—or Apostle—of the Goddess of Souls, there was only one thing that must be done: to approach and understand them, and to ensure they carry a good impression of us elves.
Thus, I confirmed the genuineness of the Soul Paladin's claim and pledged my support, along with my companions—especially our priest, who is blessed by the Goddess Terra.
At that, the @[City Guard Name in Elvish] approved the Soul Paladin's entry into the city. As I pondered how best to approach and interact with this divine envoy, the Paladin themselves asked for our assistance in navigating the city—a request we all gladly accepted.
We guided the Soul Paladin through the city, teaching them what was needed to live among us and answering their many questions to the best of our abilities.
When the Paladin asked about the badges we wore, we explained our current occupation as adventurers, and what that role entailed. Hearing this, the Soul Paladin expressed interest in registering as an adventurer themselves—jesting that their insignia wasn't exactly well-recognized here.
So, we led them to the Adventurers' Guild, where we vouched for their identity and supported their registration. Fortunately, the receptionist didn't question further, as the Adventurers' Guild operates independently and holds no ties to religious factions.
The registration process was simple—requiring only a name and basic details. The Paladin also agreed to undergo the test using the @[Judgement Orb]—a sacred artifact blessed by the priests of Light Goddess Helen. As the orb showed no signs of corruption, the process was completed, and the Soul Paladin received their adventurer's identification, beginning at the lowest rank, called @[Equivalent to Rank F].
Gathering my courage, I then asked if the Soul Paladin would be willing to join our party, as they still seemed unfamiliar with the city. They took a moment to ponder the request… but to my relief and joy, the Soul Paladin agreed.
And with that, the esteemed Soul Paladin—whose presence could be said to be equivalent to our Elven Life Paladins or Now Called as Life Apostles who led our race—joined our party.
