Chapter 290 - Besieged

"The Grand Line, the Seven Water Capital, welcomed a particular group of pirates today. A massive ship slowly docked at the port, and Aris and his companions descended the gangway.

"Hahaha, we've arrived at the Seven Water Capital once again. It's been ten years, and it's only getting busier here," Aris said, looking around at the bustling port.

"Aris, the one grilling over there, smells delicious. Let's go try it!" Yamato exclaimed when he spotted a barbecue stand, saliva dripping from his mouth.

"Hmm, didn't you just have lunch? You're quite the foodie," Aris teased, glancing at Yamato. "Hmph, that just smells so amazing!" Yamato replied with a pout.

"Hahaha, Yamato, your expression is just too cute. Come on, I'll buy you some grilled vegetables," Aris said, unable to resist the adorable sight. He bought a few vegetable skewers and handed them to Yamato.

"Mmm, these are so delicious. What are they grilled with?" Yamato asked, his face filled with delight after finishing the skewers.

"Well, I'm not sure, but if you like them, I'll get you more next time," Aris replied casually, glancing at his crew members, who were occasionally peeking at him.

Feeling a shift in the atmosphere, the citizens of the street quickly left the area, seeking refuge elsewhere. Such incidents were common, and they wanted no part of it.

"Hey, there are no more civilians here, just a few of us. So, what do you say? Do you want to fight now? It's the perfect time," Aris said, grinning at the people surrounding him.

"Jiji, didn't expect to be discovered so soon, huh? You truly live up to your reputation as a pirate from the New World with a bounty exceeding 500 million," a short, portly man with a rat-like hat said as he walked forward.

"Oh? You know me?" Aris asked, genuinely curious. He wondered if anyone would be foolish enough to reveal their intentions this openly.

"Jiji, of course! You're the most talked-about pirate lately. How could I not know? Your reputation precedes you," the rat-faced man replied with a wicked smile, not showing any signs of nervousness.

A tall, burly man with a shaved head and an imposing eight-pack belly soon emerged from the crowd. He introduced himself to Aris.

"I'm known as Deke, also known as 'Dead Fist' Deke, and I've taken down dozens of men with bounties exceeding a billion. Today, I'm going to claim your 500-million head."

"Hmm, Deke, are you trying to steal my captain's head?" another figure, tall and slender, appeared. With a sword at his waist, he watched Deke closely.

"Haha, weakling, Aris, your head is mine today. In gratitude, I'll make sure you die without pain," the swordsman said, unsheathing his sword.

"No manners, huh? Who permitted you to attack Aris directly? Someone as weak as you have no right to lay hands on Captain Aris." The swordsman's tone was disdainful as he rebuked him.

Frustrated, Deke attempted to attack Aris, but his attack was effortlessly parried by the swordsman, leading to an enormous shockwave and a demolished building nearby.

"Ugh, you little brat! I'll make you pay!" Deke, slightly battered, rose from the rubble with rage.

"Hmm, such a weakling, talking big and trying to take Captain Aris's head. It's quite comical," the swordsman replied, showing no concern.

"Grr, I'll get you!" Deke charged towards the swordsman again, brandishing his sword, while an intense and colorful beam of light flashed from his blade.

"Haha, Aris, your head is mine now, and I'll make sure you die without pain," Deke taunted as he attacked with his radiant technique, the "Rainbow Brilliance."

"Hmph, disrespectful little brat. Who permitted you to attack Aris?" The swordsman said as he blocked the attack with a brilliant swing.

"Boom!"
