Monday morning, Kyoyota Arianagi woke up early due to stressing about his first student council meeting being today. He got out of bed at 6:00am, changed into his uniform, cleaned his apartment a little, then went to get some breakfast. Kyo arrived at Hanabira high school at 7:30am, thirty minutes before school started. Kyo even beat president Yuuki to school.
Kyo sat at his seat in the homeroom class and questioned some things:
When and where does the student council usually meet?
What are the other student council members like?
Will Yuuki and I still be eating lunch together like we did last week?
There was of course no way for Kyo to get all of these answers immediately. His thoughts and questions were interrupted when he saw a bunch of guys standing in a line next to the back wall in the hallway. Confused, he tried to listen in on the guy's conversation faintly hearing murmuring like "Look it's really the ice princess!" and "I thought she was one of the seven wonders of the school."
None of their words made any sense to Kyo since this is the first time he has heard of the seven wonders and someone having the nickname "Ice Princess." Then Kyo saw a glimpse of black hair, but Kimori blocked the entrance to the classroom where the black haired lady was about to go.
"Excuse me milady, you are breathtakingly beautiful and if possible I would like your nu-" Kimori's words and possibly his life was cut short because in that instant a group of guys jumped him and pulled him out of view.
Kyo simply watched the interaction before turning his attention back to the beautiful black haired, umber eyed girl who was standing at the entrance of the classroom. As she slowly walked into the first year classroom, the room suddenly got colder, only her and Kyo were in the classroom as the group of guys just watched waiting to see what would happen. I see why they call her the Ice Princess. Kyo thought.
The lady walked up to him, like a towering deity who was only three feet away from him at best. She paused in front of him and analyzed him for a moment. At first Kyo thought that he should say something like Hey there, what's up? Or can I help you? But his instincts kicked in and felt that this was more of an intimidation check of sorts. Kyo stood his ground and narrowed his eyes. After another moment the mysterious lady spoke.
"So you're who she picked, I can see why. There is a student council meeting after school in room 403 make sure you're there on time." The mysterious and cold lady before said this with authority and understanding, yet was surprisingly soft spoken to the point that the others couldn't really tell what she was saying.
Oh, she is a member of the student council. Kyo thought "Right, I will be there on time, thank you for letting me know the room number."
She turned and walked away, immediately as she did the guys looking into the room got back into their … positions on the back wall letting her pass without issue. Kyo was a little confused by the reaction but before he knew it his desk had been surrounded by about thirteen guys, one of whom was Kimori. All of them had daggers in their eyes and Kyo thought that his life might be in danger.
"Kyo, let me ask you something, how do you know her?" Kimori asked as though leading the charge.
Oh, so you're a member of the cult now, Kimori? Was Kyo's initial thought, but gave an honest answer instead of avoiding the topic at hand as he felt the gaze of others around him."She is a member of the student council, she had an important message to tell me is all."
"AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE?!?" The guys yelled in unison with many of their minds thinking that she had just confessed to him or something. Kyo, catching their minds wandering off exclaimed, "Not like that you idiots! For the student council meeting."
Each and every single guy in the class sighed in relief. Kimori then said in a half joking half serious tone, "these guys are seriously devoted to her, if you try anything towards the princess I cannot guarantee your safety." After this ominous message from Kimori Mr. Shindo walked through the door and began the lecture. However, another question crossed Kyoyota Arianagi's mind, will being the treasurer of the student council get me killed?

After school Kyo went up to the fourth floor, it was his first time here. Right after getting to the top of the staircase at the end of the hall he saw the student council room. It was by far the largest room on the fourth floor and no one could miss seeing it.
Kyo walked over and paused before entering the room, then suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder, "Um are you going in?" Kyo turned around to a small, skinny girl, with light brown hair, and hazel eyes "Oh yes, sorry." Kyo then turned back towards the door and entered the student council room, the little girl following behind him.
The student council room was massive, at the center was President Yuuki sitting at a large desk, the wall behind her had a large bookshelf that covered from one corner to the other filled with various kinds of files and books. In front of the main desk were two couches, both at an angle with a coffee table in the middle. The right couch had two people on it, one was the girl from this morning and the other was a bright red haired kid who looked like a middle schooler. In the corner of the room was another desk, a man with grey hair, glasses, and wearing a gray dress shirt was sitting there.
The young girl who was behind Kyo sat down on the left couch."Please come in Kyo, have a seat." Yuuki said. Kyo awkwardly sat down on the left couch, next to the girl with hazel eyes and across from the Ice Princess.
"Right all of us are accounted for then, I hate to do introductions again, but we have a new member so please state your role and year, we will go clockwise. I shall go first, my name is Yuuki Hanami, the current president of the student council, and I am a 2nd year."
The "Ice Princess," then began her introduction, "I am Shino Akino, the current vice president of the student council, 2rd year."
Seating next to her was the red head kid, who had a bit more flare to his introduction. "Yo yo yo. I am Ryuji Nora, this year's student council secretary, 3rd year." This kid is a third year in high school?? This has to be a mistake, he even sounds young Kyo had thought to himself.
"Guess it's my turn," Kyo heard the girl next to him start speaking. "My name is Miura Nora, the student council's scribe, 2nd year." Wait, they have the same last name, but they look nothing alike, just coincidence? Kyo thought before it dawned on him that his turn had now arrived. "Right, I am Kyoyota Arianagi, this year's student council treasurer, 1st year." Yuuki looked at Kyo with a smile, then snapped her head to the man in the corner of the room, "Mr. Nyuga please introduce yourself."
"Tch," he sounded mildly annoyed at Yuuki for needing his attention."I am the adviser of this club, please don't need me."
"Some teacher you are!" Yuuki yelled. She sighed and stood up from her desk, "listen up, to be blunt there isn't much to do this early in the year. Shino, I would like you to ask the teachers to get a list of what each class wants to do for the welcoming festival. Ryuji please organize last year's albums and files and add them to the back shelf. Kyo, I would like for you to learn more about your position and to meet with some of the clubs and get a list of items that they need. Miura once Kyo gets that list from each club, please put the items of each list in ascending order of most to least important so we can see what all we can help them with. Mr. Nyuga, please do something useful. Any questions?"
Everyone more or less understood what they had to do and how to do it, so they all shook their heads. Yuuki looked at Kyo and said, "Kyo do you have any questions so far?"
He thought for a moment, "which club should I start with? There are a lot at this school."
Yuuki didn't seem at all surprised by this question and it seemed like she had prepared an answer for him, "Start with the napping club located in the basement of this building and go from there." That concludes this week's meeting, see you all here next Monday then."
Everyone stood up and walked out of the room, as Kyo was about to leave the room he heard a deep voice, it was Mr. Nyuga, "Mr. Arianagi, please hang on a second. It was now Yuuki, Nyuga, and Kyo were left in the room.
"Yes, Mr. Nyuga?" Kyo answered, turning around.
Mr. Nyuga began to explain the key points of being the treasurer. Firstly, Kyoyota Ariganagi was handed a key ring with six keys dangling from the bottom. There was one key that was used for classroom locks, another for the janitorial office, one for the pool room, one for the gymnasium, one to the faculty office, and another to the student council room. As Mr. Nyuga handed the keys over to Kyo, he said in all seriousness, "These keys are yours, but you cannot take them home with you, you have to drop them off in the faculty office everyday by 5pm and you can pick them up again in the morning at 7:30am or later."
The second point was the most important part, it was explained that Kyoyota Arianagi would be given access to all club finances and would personally allocate a monthly budget to each club. Nyuga saw Kyo start to panic a little, he is probably thinking that if he messed it up badly enough he would be breaking some kind of law.
Nyuga then explained that he has to give the final approval before the school actually handed over the money. Kyo's eyes were relieved that he was not the sole person in charge of such an important task. Mr. Nyuga then gave some advice "Do not be a yes man to everything a club asks for. Do not pick favorites. Lastly, listen to your gut. After you get used to your position, you will come to realize that you are the most impactful person in terms of what our clubs can and cannot do. Be wise Mr. Arianagi."
Kyo then came to a realization, the reason there are so few members within the student council and why it is so impossible to get into, isn't just because you need a referral from a previous member, what you really need is trust.
Kyo took a deep breath and devised a plan, if at any point he felt he was doing something wrong, he would discuss it with both Mr. Nyuga and his aunt, since Kokoro was very good at handling money. Kyo then looked at both president Yuuki and Mr. Nyuga and said, "I still don't understand my full role yet, or the abilities that come with that, but I won't let either of you down."
Mr. Nyuga saw the determination on Kyo's face and looked at President Yuuki, "You picked a good kid Hanami." Then the advisor looked back at Kyo, "As long as you don't let me down I will get to sleep more so please understand that my naps are on the line with the decisions you make."
Kyo froze, is all this man thinks about is himself? Suddenly his thoughts were interrupted by president Yuuki, "Mr. Nyugaaaa!!! Don't scare my members away! Kyo please leave and go talk to some of the clubs as I deal with this man child here."
"Uhh, right see you later then." Kyo walked out of the room and into the hall before hearing the screams of Mr. Nyuga behind him"Wait Kyo! Don't leave me with this deranged president please!!" Kyo walked away hearing the sound of a slow creaking door and a click behind him.
Kyo then walked down to the basement floor and smelled a weird aroma that began to sooth his mind and body. He walked over to where the aroma was coming from and asked to himself is this the napping club? Kyo then knocked on the door.
