Director Zero ran through the corridors of his own facility for the first time in his life. His jaw was clenched tight and a gun was held in his hand as he charged through the corridors, surprisingly fast for a man of his age.
Behind him, a cacophony of boots clacked against the floor, including a set of thumping and heavy metal ones, as the rest of his security force rushed from their original ambush point and towards the containment for the subject.
His heart thundered in his chest, a mixture of anxiety and excitement. He dreaded the thought of the subject, a being they had kept prisoner for so long, finally awakening. It was a complete unknown, with no idea what it was capable of.
But for that same reason he had his excitement. It was an unknown. An unknown he had been staring at for over 50 years. Ever since he was a young boy, he had always stared at the stars and wondered what was beyond them.
How could he not be excited to finally get the answers to those questions?
