"Wow we just let you out and with a slap on the wrist at that. Look at you already causing problems." Professor Spark came walking out the auditorium approaching Victoria and Alex.
"Another duel huh. We just fixed the damn field too and it wasn't cheap! So this time seeing as everything is happening under new enforced school rules. The Headmaster as well as myself and a few other professors will be overseeing this."
Professor Spark typed in a few things on her wrist watch and sent out a school wide message.
[Duel between our new destroyer of school property and future S tier Victoria Vs the mysterious high tier Alex in a revenge match for his brother friend guy who he barely knows! This match will take place immediately.]
Floating holographic screens popped up all over the school showcasing the empty fighting field that was just renovated nicely with different professors stepping out onto the field through magical portals.
"I was really hoping we could have a relaxing recovery day after I cancelled classes professor." Headmaster zephyr approached the trio opening a portal of his own.
"Well all of you come along now. This is a world of magic and a world of power. You all won't grow if we baby you and prevent you from making your own decisions. Be careful though because when you play stupid games. You win stupid prizes."
Zephyr used his wind magic lifting the two students up and tossing them through a separate portal that landed them directly onto the battlefield. As he walked through his own portal calmly with Professor Spark appearing amongst the rest of the professors on the field.
"After this is over you two will not be allowed to issue duels for a while so we can yet again fix the mess you both are about to create so the rest of the student body will be able to participate. We won't be broadcasting all the battles in this school but the high ranking ones we will."
The arena was empty this time around but all eyes were glued to the screens for this fight across the school.
"Final exhibition match for the school duels commence today. After today we will be evaluating everyone over the course of the next week and then get a ranking system into place. The higher your rank the more the school will offer you. High ranks mean high tier, which means high rewards. Score to low and you might end up in my office having a less fortunate discussion. Top 50 students will be eligible to participate in our end of the semester duel tournament. That's enough advertising from me though you'll learn more as you attend your classes."
The Headmaster turned his back and motioned for the fight to begin!
The clash was inevitable as Victoria called upon Ku, the fox spirit lent her his magic powers through the summon appearing on her shoulder momentarily before disappearing again as she wreathed in swirling blue flames.
Alex looked stunned before appearing indifferent to everything that was happening.
"Those blue flames look like they will hurt me really bad. This is going to suck big time."
Everyone watched around the school as Victoria took steps toward Alex leaving scorch marks on the ground with each footprint made. Her hair was flying in the air uncontrollably as the blue flames swirled around her body and her finger tips more intensely.
Alex flexed his body but when you looked closely you could see his muscles visibly hardening with each passing second. Victoria launched the first strike, a blazing whip of blue fire that Alex met head-on, his enhanced strength and body allowing him to disperse the flames with a single punch. Embers scattered, but Victoria just used that as a diversion as she was already conjuring a vortex of blue fire around her, the heat distorting the air.
Alex charged, his enhanced speed blurring his movements. He was flashing from one spot to another leaving behind after images of himself. This amount of speed and power put a huge toll on Alex's body as his mana was being drained fast.
"That boy has been studying body refining hmm I see. That's what he took from my office as his reward. How interesting." Professor zephyr looked on at the fight.
Alex aimed for a knockout blow, but Victoria was ready. She unleashed a torrent of flames, forcing Alex to skid to a halt, shielding his face. The flames danced around him, seeking an opening, but Alex's skin shimmered with a faint, metallic sheen from his magic, deflecting the worst of the heat. He retaliated with a ground-shaking stomp, the force of it aimed at disrupting Victoria's concentration as cracks spread out through the field.
"You closed up that hole underneath the school leading to the forbidden sealed area right headmaster?" Professor Spark asked looking concerned.
"Yes while redoing this field the best earth magic users sealed everything no need to worry about it. Zephyr looked watching Victoria thinking back to the damages she caused.
Victoria staggered, her fiery aura flickering, but she quickly regained her composure. Channeling her focus, she compressed the flames into a concentrated blast, a miniature sun that she hurled at Alex. He braced himself, his body hardening to its limit. The blast hit, a blinding explosion of light and heat. When the smoke cleared, Alex stood, scorched but unbroken, a testament to the power of his body enhancement magic.
