Chapter 238 - Story 12 Fate/Fool Chapter 12

Soft clicks of shoes on concrete rang out as I walked through the flood prevention system under Las Vegas and it didn't take me long to find clues as to where all the homeless people had gone.

Because abruptly a large number of foot prints forming across the dusty concrete was all too easy of proof of fuckery going on. And following those footsteps to their destination brought me to a hidden metal door that had a large boiler of sorts that was warded in front of it.

"Hmm... Do I go loud or remain quiet?" I muttered before I spoke up again. "Tamamo, please get rid of the wards around the boiler but don't let the mage learn about the wards breaking." I asked.

I heard a little giggle within my mind from Tamamo before she said amidst the giggles. "Ufufu, a human mage's weak ward like this? I can deal with this in my sleep Mikon!"

And then she entered her physical form with her giggling expression darkening at the musty scent hitting her enhanced senses. But either way I was in some thought as well.

'Thankfully I don't have to worry about Fate/Strange Fake or whatever. That's supposed to be a decade-plus past the fifth Fuyuki Grail War, which hasn't even happened yet... To say nothing of the fact that the Holy Grail's process and plans haven't been leaked yet.' I mused.

But whether I go and deal with the Fuyuki Grail War? Well, that honestly just depended on if I magically got the Command Seals, though... With my nine-tailed Tamamo, there was only a handful of Servants who could properly fight her.

Though the thing I was most hesitant about was the fact there really wasn't anything for me to gain from fucking about with the Fuyuki Grail War due to Angra Mainyu making it worthless.

A soft glow emanated from the large metal boiler and I watched as Tamamo threw a couple of talismans onto the boiler and then those paper talismans flew backward with a glowing ward schematic captured between the two talismans like they were hooks that had dragged it off the boiler.

The two talismans then flew across the room with the ward being attached and then I watched as the ward was just slapped onto a barrel.

"There we go! The ward is moved and the creator is none the wiser! So are we ready to-" Tamamo froze and I shuddered as thick cloying air smashed into me as the huge boiler was moved under the effort of another one of her talismans.

The air wasn't normal... My Six Eye's widened as I realized what it was. "The leylines... No this is something else?" I muttered before I realized what this was.

"This isn't Mana from the Human Texture," I spoke coldly as this was to be frank beyond me and Tamamo at this point.

Either the mage had somehow tunneled through the Reverse Side of the World, there was a Spiritual Tomb of Albion entranced that had popped up here... Or whoever was here, was doing some majorly fucked up grand rituals to crack open a portal to some other dimension.

"Master... I don't think you should go down there." Tamamo said bluntly and I grimaced but shook my head.

"I need to get an idea of what is going on. I can resist the non-human texture mana as well... We need to be careful though." I spoke before I strode into the large opening into the tunnel that was pouring out mana from what had to be from the Age of the Gods.

The concrete tunnel quickly changed to being made out of smooth stone that had been bored and smoothed over a great many years ago. And worse was the purple glowing burning crystals that were condensed corrupted mana of a sort that was providing the tunnels with light.

As we reached an intersection I felt something wrap around my waist and then I was pulled back behind Tamamo as something high speed shot past at high speed past us going down another direction before it came to an abrupt stop with a howl as its claws made a flurry of sparks on the ground as it stopped itself.

"Monster, kill it." I ordered Tamamo as I realized whatever it was, wasn't human in the slightest and hearing my order Tamamo manifested a dozen talisman that flew at a blurring speed toward the monster.

With my body now under the Reinforcement Spell which was boosted greatly by my Six Eyes allowing me to use the spell oh so much better. I saw the monster was... Something that looked like a Wendigo of sorts, but it looked like it had several layers of skin that were blasted off and quickly regenerating beyond Tamamo's talismans.

"Master be careful, I am going to fight in melee as I can't use powerful talismans with how deep underground we are!" Tamamo called out as she summoned an extremely long katana that hit the sides of the tunnel with each swing she made at the monster.

And as Tamamo's sword hit the raised claws of the monster I frowned as I saw her sword make large a sparking show as her sword skated off the claws...

I held up a couple of fingers that I then poured my mana into, and then as a small red orb formed on the tip of my finger I yelled out. "Tamamo get to the side!"

She didn't even look behind herself, she just shot to the side and then as the monster looked past Tamamo I saw it had four eyes filled with slitted eyes that widened as it slashed its clawed hands at the Limitless Red I sent at the monster.

The red orb of compressed outwards expressing gravity smashed into his hands I let go of the iron control I had over the spell and then the Wendigo-like monster was smashed into the walls of the tunnel.

But the Limitless Red for all its spatial power wasn't powered up much as Tamamo was right that powerful abilities couldn't be used underground... Normally.

But I noticed that the thick non-human magical energy had reinforced the walls as even with my Red smashing into the monster and cracking its ribs into paste as it smashed it into a wall.

The wall was surprisingly in perfect shape. And thinking back, Tamamo's sword didn't even hurt the walls either and I had no doubt that the sword had some kind of history with her connection with Amaterasu.

But as my spell petered out and the monster stood back up with its chest visibly unfucking itself I formed a purple orb and much bigger on the tips of my finger with Tamamo sprinting past me as she could feel the danger in conflicting spatial energies at my finger.

'Hollow Purple!' I thought with my vision being swallowed completely as I drained my energy a great deal to shoot a Hollow Purple that engulfed the tunnel and shot down the length with the monster being swallowed up.

"Jake..." Tamamo whispered as I dropped my hand with a grimace. I could feel my magic circuits warming inside of me, warning me of the amount of mana I was channeling.

I looked down the other tunnels and I froze as dozens of more sets of the red eyes of the monsters were glowing as they stared at me.

"Tamamo... Get us out of here." I said firmly and abruptly I felt a pulling sensation as hundreds of swirling talismans engulfed our forms and I clenched my fists at feeling Tamamo hungrily draining my mana to refuel her stores as my eyes were blinded by the bright Nevada sun as we were teleported back to the surface.
