Chapter 241 - Story 12 Fate/Fool Chapter 15

After a good bit of shopping and spending some time eating with Tamamo, even though the beautiful fox woman wanted to spend more time running around Las Vegas. We went back to the hotel where Tamamo secured our room with charms and such to prevent intrusion.

"Hmm, we have familiars following us now." Tamamo noted and I did notice with my enhanced senses now that she mentioned it, some birds flying directly above us watching, along with birds and other animals on the nearby buildings watching us through the open window of the hotel room.

I got up closed the blinds and said. "The Calypso family, the Second Owner of this city finally seemed to have picked up our presence."

"What remains to be seen is how connected they are with this situation... A situation that is thankfully out of our hands once I turn over the location of one of the entrances to whatever Texture is over there." I spoke as I took out my book on Nordic Druidic magic and continued my project.

As I knew Nazica and Radia were likely going to be busy with their own... And I didn't want the two twins to try to string me up if I didn't match their own efforts as we worked to bind shadow daemons to animal totems to act as familiars of our own.

'Actually, do I even need an animal totem familiar making me stronger when I have Tamamo as my familiar?' I mused before I looked over at Tamamo who was sitting on a large love seat and looking at with me with a knowing smile that boded ill for my future.

"Tamamo, do you have any ways to make me stronger?" I asked curiously as I put down my notes for the sea monster totem I had in mind for myself despite how dangerous it would to integrate.

The shard of Amaterasu gave a start at my question before she hummed and thought about my question. "Hmm... I could bless you with some Shinto rituals, I could also make you a powerful sword with my authority over the sun but they wouldn't be nearly as good as some Noble Phantasms." Tamamo admitted.

I brushed my hand through my face as I considered the fact that there were actually a few dozen Noble Phantasm's in the coastal waters of Fuyuki that were abandoned by Gilgamesh after they were 'tainted' after doing damage to Gillies's eldritch summoned monster.

"Otherwise, the best I could do is just feed you really good food, and I could tattoo you with some charms and glyphs that will go under your skin that will make you stronger." Tamamo finished off making me hum in thought.

Then I just shrugged. "Alright, I was just curious if you had any interesting methods as I am still just a squishy human," I said with some humor with Tamamo giving me a lidded look at my humor.

"A squishy human who was able to grind down a phantasmal creature with a self-created spell while lacking a Magical Crest or heritage," Tamamo stated sarcastically.

I gave Tamamo a wry smile and replied easily. "I got to hit it with my spell because of how tight the area was. Either way, there are humans in this world that can give even Servant's trouble."

Everyone liked to say how Servants could thrash even the best of the Magi, but I would bet on Barthomeloi Lorelei killing a good number of Servant's frankly.

Tamamo and I continued talking for a good couple of hours until a loud ringing rang out and thus I knew it was time. "We have company Tamamo. Go into your spirit form." I said firmly.

Tamamo understanding I wanted her as a trump card was engulfed in blue spiritual light as she entered her spiritual form which would hide her from most conventional senses.

I then went to the front door and pulled off the charm on the door while Tamamo whispered to me mentally. [The Charm will explode if you throw it at someone if they are hostile.]

Opening the door, I damn near threw the explosive charm instantly as five people stood before me in the most un-inconspicuous manner possible.

"Yo, you are Jake Bariss right?" A man who had long hair, biker glasses and a motorcycle outfit in general said and I could all but smell the death from him.

And I even recognized him actually, Kairi Sisigou which in one timeline was actually the Master of Mordred, and either way was a famous and skill necromancer along with being one of the best Enforcers within the Mages Association.

Taking in the other four members in a glance I saw they were all also rather... Eccentric individuals even if I didn't recognize most of them but I very much did recognize one of them.

"Yeah, that's my name. Well come on in, I need to report to you guys all the information I have gathered."

I took a seat with the five enforcers taking various seats in the room and my lips twitched at the realization that they were covering all the exits including the windows with where they were sitting.

"So just to clarify, this wasn't a prank right?" Kairi asked with a gruff grin that promised nothing but suffering if I said yes.

But I just took a breath and I pointed at the pile of obsidian and other semi-precious stones I collected from various stores. "The underground is heavily tainted with magical energy to the point that all the stones are naturally filling with magical energy without anyone needing to fill them."

"But that's just one point, the biggest point of all is how just like in the Tomb of Albion, the deeper you go in the tunnels that have been created leading to the unknown Texture, is monsters and Phantasmal Creatures being found in the tunnels... And they are obscenely strong."

The five enforcers shared a look while I looked at the sole woman I recognized as Bazzett Fraga Mcremitz who was probably the most dangerous person in the room besides Tamamo... And even then, with her having a literal fucking pocket Noble Phantasm.

She could possibly still be more dangerous to Tamamo with how bullshit she was.

One of the Enforcers got up with a grunt and came over to the obsidian and other stuff I collected and began investigating it. But meanwhile Kairi spoke up.

"So any news about the Calypso family and of course. Did you find any living dead or ghouls?" He asked calmly.

I shook my head and said firmly. "No, to both cases. The homeless population however was butchered and taken alive in some cases by the Phantasmal Creatures that are running through the flood tunnels and sewers under the city which connects to the tunnel I found leading to that Texture."

After I was done speaking the enforcer spoke in a dull voice as his entire form was covered in a dark robe with a deep shadow obscuring his face as he leaned away from the stones. "The stones are indeed naturally imbued with Gaia's magic, but its tinted with spiritual ether."

The cloak covered man continued. "It bears a stark resemblance to the Tunnel of Souls in the Evocation and Summoning Department back in London."

And I was reminded myself of that scary as fuck tunnel made entirely of obsidian that had hundreds of thousands of souls sealed into it to make the department a perfect holy land for spiritual affairs.
