Chapter 290 - Story 20 Diggy Diggy Hole Chapter 17

The following couple of weeks from the demonstration of my various golems were a system of myself working myself to the bone. I was either personally working on the various automatons, I was forging enchanted weapons to enhance my forging skills.

Or I was ruminating on my future honestly. I even started my own personal Book of Grudges, with my Grudge agaisnt Clan Skyre of the Thaggoraki.

And adding several more entires such as the Beastmen that made my travels through the Mountains of Morne such a pain in the ass.

"Hmm, with my Gamer ability. I will be plenty physically strong enough to match even the demonic champions and other monsters. But my biggest flaw is my ability to slaughter enemies in mass." I mused before I felt my fiery heart thud as I pulled at the inner fire inside of myself.

I held a hand over my chest as I wondered what the Ansector God thought of my current actions... I was supporting the Umgi and Dragons, of all people instead of my own race.

'No, I came here to Cathay for a reason... To kill more of the Skaven and have a path through the Ivory Road to branch off to kill Skaven across the Old World.' I thought stubbornly before I got back to work on the eight-barreled Grudge-raker I was working on.

"Although that old bastard was old-fashioned... Thankfully, he didn't have any real hate for guns." I muttered as I worked to precisely forge the mechanisms that would allow me to shoot the eight-barreled shotgun from two different trigger systems, with each trigger activating four barrel's load at once.

Then just to make the Grudge-raker complete, I enchanted the gun with the infinity along with mending, and power enchantments. "This will be quite good... Though I can't overuse it, as I couldn't give it an actual durability enchantment." I muttered.

Before I could begin doing inlay work, as I wanted to add the symbol of Clan Barruk and my own designs. A soft ringing rang out and I looked over at the bell that was gently chiming in my private work station that was meant to get my attention.

I hopped off my work chair [booster seat] and quickly made my way over towards the door with armor coming out of my inventory and equiping itself on my frame along with my forging hammer remaining in my hand.

Hey you can never known when the fucking Changling was going to shank you with a stale loaf of Bretonian bread.

I threw open the door and paused as I looked up to see a Umgi woman who was clad in fine silks and had a well-developed frame. Though being a dwarf, I still remembered from my past life that this woman would be a solid eight if not nine out of ten.

But my appreciation and musing was cut short as the woman bowed regally and then rising she spoke formally. "My ladyship, the Lord Shugengan, Nau Xioalin has requested your appearance for her to host a meeting and possible business deal."

I scowled at being interrupted to be called upon by one of the many dragon-blooded generals and inheritors. And seeing my obvious annoyance the woman took a breath and then she pulled open her tight-fitting dress, exposing pale smooth flesh before she pulled out a pale jade-like stone.

"Also, her ladyship has sent this gift of a piece of high-grade Jet to be delivered unto you, Lord Kharn."

I gingerly took the Jet from her with my scowl fading as this... This wasn't something I could get on my own, as it was A- a Grand Cathay exclusive product and was also a controlled substance to an extent due to it being an isolater for all magic except for High and Dark magic.

As in should a lesser demon come within a dozen meters of such a high-grade piece of jet, it would begin falling apart. And just keeping it on my person, embedded in a necklace, would prevent any demons from infiltrating my dreams.

I slowly nodded as this was indeed a gift and clearly a sign of sincerity. So I looked up to the servant woman and asked in the normal dawi blunt way. "What does your Lady want of me?"

The servant woman gave a slight smile at seeing me pocket the Jet as an agreement to at least hear her out. And she replied respectfully. "I am afraid that I am just the messenger to set this meeting. Lord Kharn, may I ask you to please join me in my Lady's carriage to go to her Clan's compound?"

And with a grunt, I moved forward in agreement as I left the walls of my home that was next to the real workshop that even now what pumping out smoke and steam from the mostly automated process of the Centurion's and other Dwemer automatons being built.

I followed her and I carefully climbed into the carriage with an older male Umgi driving the carriage as the servant woman carefully spoke to me. "My lady is a fair woman, wise beyond her years, beauty second only to the Jade Empress herself, and-"

"What is your name?" I asked bluntly, and she paused before saying quietly.

"My name is Xia Xioalin."

And before she could continue, I said firmly. "Good, now Xia Xioalin. I ask that you not build up your mistress as I will make up my own opinion of her in due time."

She pursed her lips before nodding, and I remained silent for the rest of the ride through the city of Nan Gau the city of smoke.

We soon reached the back end of the city in the wealthier districts, and I found that the estate we were at was very well decorated to say the least.

"Please follow me, Lord Kharn to the meeting hall. I will then go tell my lady that you have arrived." Xia Xioalin spoke respectfully as she led me past several silent guards who stood at the front gate.

The mansion itself was in the Grand Cathay style, which was ancient Chinese in style in relation to my old life. And soon enough she dropped me off in the meeting hall before rushing off to go get her master.

'Hmm, I do hope she isn't expecting me to make an entire assembly line of automatons for her or something.' I mused to myself as I knew the Dragon-blooded inherited both the Umgi's shortsightedness, but also the dragon's pride.

But only a couple of minutes later the door to the meeting hall was thrown open grandly with two guards opening the door while the host, the Lord Shugengan, Nau Xioalin strode in proudly and I took in her form.

Which wasn't much to look at as almost her entire body, besides her lower face was covered in either an enchanted battle mask. And a thick battle dress outfit that took a family of weavers probably years to make.

Then Nau Xioalin spoke with her voice thick with power and authority. "My name is Nau Xioalin, born of the line of Dragon Emperor. I have come you, Kharn of Clan Barruk to commission a set of armor for my dragon-blooded Longma."

I blinked as I didn't expect to be asked to make a suit of armor to put on a giant horse dragon with horns, honestly. Literally the LAST thing I imagined she would ask for.

And then I frowned as I said quietly. "I have never made armor for a mount, but with how big Longma's are. That's a princely amount of material I will need to work with, to enchant, and link all those enchantments together."

I then raised an eyebrow and asked rather bluntly. "What do you want its armor to do, beyond just protecting it?"

She nodded and she held out a palm before she said bluntly. "For enchantments, I hope that you could either bless my mount with more speed, make the armor even more protective, make the armor weightless, or make myself and the mount itself stronger. That's the best things I could think of."

I nodded slowly before I said. "Alright, that sounds good. Let's go measure your mount, and then we can discuss payment."

Actually, I could treat this as an experiment to make enchanted mount armor to begin with. I still needed to make a suit of armor for my own War-Goat Azulbak.
