They all waited in the warehouse for the nightly news broadcast. Dante was ready to sabotage it and show what the world actually was for the others. "Surely they don't figure out how we do this until we expose the government. And not the human indecenty they suffer with." Lark stood in the back sipping from a mug.
"I made it impossible to find unless you did regular maintenance on the antenna, we won't be found until after. But hush, we get to have our five minutes soon." Dante pointed to the television as everyone huddled around.
The news anchor tapped her papers. "Goodnight, the first story we will be covering is the violent freeing of the local work camps in the south side of the capital." False images of dead bodies appeared all over as did piles of dead hybrids in heaps. "The two terrorists freed several key work camps that support the central infrastructure to the city."
"And now." James pressed the button as the footage cut out and changed to Angel standing on the roof, her black outfit clashing with her pure white wings.
"We have always been labeled as villains and terrorists, neither of which is any bit true. We are fighting a good fight. All we ask for is to be treated with normalcy and as a human, if only that didn't feel like holding the world on our shoulders." It slowly faded as Angels voice filled the speakers. "We all have our own wants in life, some want to soar through the clouds." It cycled to a picture of the black sheep and Angel hovering in air.
"Others just want to be united with their family without fear and torment." James' voice echoed in the same manner of his sisters as the Mouse family appeared on screen. "Who wants to live a life where you can't be with those you love." More images flooded the screen of all the hugs and happiness on the main hybrid isle. "We also will refute any ideas of murder. We did not encounter any humans but these two. And they were dealt with peacefully, no physical long term harm came to them." It showed the picture of the two men roped together as the room began to laugh.
"We hope to unify and unite the country all off one basis, to treat each other as equals, not as subservient to one another." Their voices collided together as both twins looked at each other, then a picture of the test room appeared. "The corruption of the deep state is higher than even we know. What was called a power plant was actually a test plant for experiments."
Finnick squirmed in his spot from seeing the room. "This place is meant to take the powers away from the hybrids and give them to one man. Bane." Hearing his own voice come from the television helped him feel comfortable. "Seventeen pods were found by one of us. They have drained sixteen successfully and would have taken my powers if I was not saved by my friends. Allies. Family. We can't do this alone and liberate ourselves without help."
James and Angel posed together, squeezed together as the camera panned out and showed all the freed hybrids from last night. "We cannot do this alone. It takes masses to make changes to a nation." Dante's voice chimed in. "We are a movement. Please take peacefully to the streets and keep the signs held high for our rights!"
As the news program cut back in, the reporter was awestruck, her hands were shaking as she saw the broadcast. She tapped her papers on the desk and paused for a moment. Her voice quivered in a hollow wind. "Do not mind those savages, they only want to." Her moment of pause was more than too much as her mind filled in the gaps. "They just want to be at peace with us, not at odds. If any of you do protest, please do so with peace." The channel abruptly turned off as the twins were in shock.
"Wait, she did that on her own?" James was surprised as the online world began to stir. They all watched as the world churned and prepared for the chaos to ensue. Looking over to his sister his warm glance filled the room. "This would be the time to overtake and sneak into the government center and get any information that we can."
"But the risk is extremely high on that." Lark sipped from his mug.
"Not when they have to be dealing with the chaos of a protest on their front doorstep." Dante was on his phone, sending out text messages as fast as they were coming in. He was working on the coordination of the chaos. The where and the when as he smiled. "This means they just have to move smartly."
"So we have the chance to? When are we doing it?" Angel questioned as her eyes glanced up to him.
Dante had a moment of pause as Willow rolled out a map of the city. Placing tokens in the corners. "So the main protest would be in front of their main doors, I'll pull up the blueprints tonight for you two to study in the morning. Use one of the no alarm service doors and sneak in. I will try and secure a clean alley path out of there for you two to get out swiftly."
"But wouldn't they all be at work?" Finnick stated. "It's a good idea to use the distraction to get them inside; however, we are then against the odds about getting caught." He paused for a moment. "But the diversion should draw it away and their performance."
"That's the secret too, the government officials fear them with every bone. So their flight or fight response kicks in and they freeze." Dante placed two coins at a service door. "All they have to do is get there with as few people seeing them as possible. If that happens. We are set."
They all agreed as the twins went to bed early. The rest stayed up and slowly began the process and efforts to begin this one final push to crumble the government. Dante worked on printing the blueprints as Willow scouted out the outsides of the building. These four kids were ready to put all their combined effort together to make an empire crumble.
