♦ Topic: New York Dual-Endbringer Attack Report, Behemoth and Leviathan Slain!

In: Boards ► Endbringers

Bagrat (Original Poster) (Veteran Member) (The Guy in the Know)

Posted On Mar 1st 2011:

You read it right folks, today has truly been a shocking day.

The details are still coming in, but allow me to lay down what we currently have confirmed.

In a shock attack, so soon after the Simurgh's failed attack on Canberra, both Leviathan and Behemoth descended upon New York. This completely broke their usual cycle, with two Endbringers attacking at once and less than a week after the last attack.

This attack also broke the record for the lowest Behemoth death toll yet.

The city was evacuated using Sett's portals, allowing him to simply remove all the civilians while also unleashing a horde of projections that searched the city and took all civilians they found to safety. [SettsProjections].

During which, he also called Scion and shockingly, or perhaps not so given their relationship, Scion responded but claimed he didn't think he was supposed to fight the Endbringers for reasons we can only theorise over.

Sett convinced Scion to instead focus on search and rescue, while also dealing with whatever Behemoth was doing, as scans reported that his kill aura was rapidly growing. Scion agreed, teleporting thousands of civilians to the shelters where Sett's portals were and also draining Behemoth's energy.

Sett also spread out his boons, which allowed many of the fighting heroes to survive what should have been fatal blows, and focused on healing anyone who was wounded. This is the key part to why the death toll was so low.

Unfortunately, this is where things took a turn for the worse. This was not a double attack, but a triple one as the Simurgh made a surprise appearance having been lying in wait. She ambushed the heroes and, in a shocking move, was able to murder Eidolon and abscond with his body before anyone could stop her. She then left, heading back into space with the body to prevent Eidolon from being healed, leaving the city to face Leviathan and Behemoth.

Sett took offence to this, and his power responded, granting him another power boost, because he didn't have enough already. He trapped both Behemoth and Leviathan into a barrier with him, rapidly cloning himself. [SettsBarrier]

As he escalated and grew stronger, he was able to physically move Behemoth, with dozens of Setts lifting Behemoth and tossing him through a portal into space.

With Leviathan trapped alone, it became a brutal brawl with Leviathan ripping apart dozens of Setts every minute, but Sett kept attacking with both his claws and a strange scythe he summoned, slicing into Leviathan piece by piece until he finally overwhelmed and slew Leviathan by stabbing the scythe into what the PRT are calling his 'core', a weak point hidden deep in Leviathan's body.

The video is not for the faint of heart, as Sett died countless times in incredibly brutal ways. Be warned. [SettVsLeviathan].

Finally, Sett created a second portal, and Armsmaster repeated his feat from Canberra, using the BFG to fire at the helplessly floating Behemoth, killing the Hero Killer in a single shot.

While today has not been a complete win, with the deaths of just over a dozen capes and an estimated three hundred civilians, Sett has done what many claimed was impossible. The Hopebringer has ended two of the Endbringers.

Leviathan and Behemoth are confirmed KIA, and the PRT intends to study the cores as Sett used a portal for them to retrieve Behemoth's corpse (or what was left of it). The Simugh is still out there, but today it has been proven that they can be beaten.

Rest in peace to Eidolon and the others that laid down their lives to stop the Endbringers, you have been avenged and we can only pray that the Simugh will soon follow her siblings.

But he's our bullshit himbo devil!

The triumvirate may have lost a member but the Endbringers lost two. Maybe I'm being disrespectful but I'd say we came out on top of this trade.

Believe me, Eidolon would have made that trade willingly.

He will be missed, but this is a day for celebration. I only wish he lived long enough to know that the Endbringers paid dearly for his life.

Rest in peace, my friend. You, of all people, have earned that right.

Sett's come so far from that naked confused devil boy I found wandering the streets. I'm so proud I could cry.

Now he's a naked devil man standing over the corpse of an Endbringer.

Come on, Loyal. You know us.

Fuck the Endbringers, and Fuck the Hopebringer.

In fact, every single female cape in New York should fuck the Hopebringer right now. He's got enough bodies for it. Fuck, I have so much smut to write.

Those bodies stick around, right?

►Reave (Verified PRT Agent)

Replied On Mar 1st 2011:

I'm only answering this because it's a legitimate question and not for the sake of your smut, but yes.

Sett can seemingly keep out dozens of copies of himself, which are currently all over New York aiding in the search and rescue. He claims they're 'all' him, though we don't really know how it works. Best theory is some kind of hivemind.

– Emma Barnes (Supernova) –

Her man wasn't just a hero; he was the hero. After yesterday, there wasn't a single person in the world who would disagree, who would argue that Sett wasn't the biggest, strongest hero in the entire world. The Triumvirate combined could only maybe drive back an Endbringer, but Sett? Sett put them down like it was fucking nothing.

The squealing made Emma giggle as she lazed against Sett's bare chest, watching the show in his dimensional palace. Alice had come to her, begging for an in with Sett and being the generous girl she was, she'd given her fellow Ward exactly that.

Trapped between two Sett's, Alice could only make sounds that only vaguely resembled sapient speech as both massive red cocks pumped into the Asian teen's ass and pussy. Alice was even dressed for the part, in a slutty mockery of a Japanese schoolgirl's outfit which was soaked with sweat and semen, in tatters at this point. Alice was fairly plain, so Emma made sure to help increase her appeal for Sett.

Yesterday had only convinced her more. Sett was the strongest, and he deserved every damn thing he wanted. He was a hero because he was such a nice guy, but his kindness wasn't naivety as she would have once believed. No, he was kind because nobody could possibly beat him. He could afford mercy, he could afford to trust in people, because if they broke that trust or betrayed his kindness, he could swat them like flies.

Beside Alice, Jessica- or Genesis- rode another Sett. Turning the former Traveller hadn't even been difficult. Noelle was deeply grateful but shy and hung up on Trick-whatever. Marissa was nervous and scared of Sett. But Jessica? After Sett had given her back her legs and saved her from Valefor, she was ready to ride him right there in that dirty alley they'd met in. Emma barely needed to nudge her to get her in on this.

Sophia wasn't here, but she was doing things her own way. Sophia was 'sparring' with Sett, with the agreement that the winner got to be on top. Naturally, Sett admitted that the fight had lasted seconds and Sophia was currently getting her ass pounded, but Emma knew Sophia wanted that outcome from the start.

Kissing Sett's chin, she lazily stroked his cock as they lounged on the sultan-like throne of his palace and watched the orgy in front of them. Violet getting spitroasted, Amy eating out a female Sett while Vicky got double penetrated beside them. Someone had to make sure that Sett was rewarded for all his hard work, and even now dozens of Setts were out there helping New York recover from the chaos.

Of course, he also admitted that more than a few were getting lucky with civilians, heroines and even some villainesses. Sett's new power was amazing, the ultimate in multitasking as he spread out as much as he damn well pleased. Sett described it like controlling your left and right hands to do different things, only he had a hundred hands to control. She didn't really need to think about it when she used her left hand for eating and her right to text, and to Sett, each body was just an extension of himself.

It had quickly put an end to her and Sophia's minor competition over his attention, because now they could each have their own Sett full-time. It wasn't tiring for him to have so many active bodies, after all. She knew this would change a lot, knowing how valuable even one Sett was, but right now, as she watched a dozen Sett's claim and ruin each of the girls, she could only smirk proudly as she kissed her way down his chest, her break over and her body eager for another round.

– Rebecca Costa-Brown (Alexandria) –

In truth, she'd wanted to stay with Sett and discuss matters further but the world needed Chief-Director Costa-Brown and as usual, her desires came second to her responsibilities.

The entire world was in chaos, but for once it was unbridled joy and worldwide celebrations. She'd dealt with calls from effectively every world leader and major hero group wanting to confirm the rumours, she'd warded off governments who wanted a piece of the dead Endbringers for their own ends. Japan wanted Leviathan's head and core, but until they were sure it was safe, neither of the bodies was leaving the alternate earth, bereft of life, that she'd had them moved to. It wasn't strictly a Cauldron facility, but it was under their complete control. If the bodies reactivated, regenerated, blew up, became apocalyptic diseases or whatever else, she was ready to strand every researcher on that Earth and cut off all connection to it.

"I don't want to believe it," Legend admitted, sighing deeply. Bringing him in on things had not been entirely her choice, and he still didn't know most of the worst that they had done, but in the end, she'd decided that it was time.

"What we want doesn't matter," Doctor Mother replied bluntly, making him nod. "What matters is the truth. Rebecca, you said Sett asked Scion?"

"Scion claimed that the High Priest shard was commanding the Endbringers. That they were the Thinker's weapons. We harvested Eden's powers without considering the true cost. And we've never found another agent like David's," Rebecca agreed. "Presumably, we took whatever she used to control them and stuffed it into David. I don't want to believe it either. The Endbringers were the biggest cause of the world's impending end, and to realise that we set them loose and that one of my closest friends was commanding them?"

"Subconsciously. He craved a challenge as his power weakened. David didn't know-" Keith tried.

"Of course he didn't, but it doesn't change the facts," Kurt cut in bluntly, making Legend sigh and go quiet.

"Kurt, what have the deaths of Leviathan and Behemoth done to the future of the world?" Doctor Mother asked. "Scion's rampage seems to have been delayed, but that doesn't change the current state of the world."

In truth, it was baffling. All their data, all their research, implied that Scion's rampage had been delayed by decades at least. Sett had unknowingly stopped an apocalypse, or at least delayed long enough for them to find the silver bullet they needed. Of course, Sett also planned to resurrect Eden and that came with its own problems.

Contessa remained as elusive as always and refused to explain her recent actions. Whatever she was doing, it was connected to the same path that she'd used to create Sett to begin with. The fact was, whatever Contessa was trying, it was working. As such, she was willing to give Fortuna the benefit of the doubt and allow her to continue her own plans.

"Presuming no new Endbringers show up? Stabilisation is possible. We are still on a downward spiral, but the descent has slowed massively and a reverse course is possible. Sett's healing pillars and potions have tipped the scales in the favour of the heroes, and Sett's own constant growth, while unpredictable, suggests that the scale will keep tipping until villainy becomes… sub-optimal," Kurt explained bluntly. "Sett has expressed a desire to clean up his city, and his desire for more 'rolls' will push him to continue hunting villains once Brockton is clean. Frankly, the projection that the world would devolve into powerful parahumans ruling over territory is likely no longer viable. Sett's heroic-aligned personality and desire for rolls would push him to attack any villainous conqueror. Of course, he could become that conqueror, in which case, he'd likely rule Earth Bet within the month with his new power of duplication."

"Sett isn't interested in ruling. He doesn't even want to lead the Wards team, let alone the world," Rebecca pointed out. "But his curses are concerning. Lust and greed are by no means roadblocks; in fact, both have been useful for us, but what if he gains a curse that wildly alters his personality?"

It was nightmarish to think that Sett could have 'rolled' a curse that made him become a villain, especially with his influence and growing power. Scion listened to Sett, and that alone made Sett the most powerful man in the world.

"You're working on removing these… curses, yes?" Doctor Mother asked, making Rebecca nod.

"I am. He declined my direct aid, but Contessa and I have made plans for indirect aid. Effectively, keeping him rich and surrounded by attractive women keeps him satisfied for now. I plan to convince him to use his new power to effectively speedrun any curses he develops, though I suspect the idea has already struck him anyway," Rebecca explained. "He knows how serious they could be, and while he does have a near-obsession with rolling, he understands the risks."

"All powers want to be used, why would his be different?" Doctor Mother agreed but Kurt snorted.

"You realise that whatever gave Sett this incredible power, it wasn't an agent, yes? His trump power is beyond anything we've seen before, and the only agent Contessa used would have just given him a combat escalation power. His Case 53 form and Lung-like escalation are from us, but the rest is something else entirely. Assuming his powers work the same as agents is foolish," Kurt said plainly.

"So, what do we do?" Keith asked, a very conflicted expression on his face.

"We keep Sett happy. It's mildly amusing to know that our role has been reduced to amusing a teenage boy, but as long as Sett remains happy and content, he will continue to act as a stabilising force and, more importantly, keep Scion from rampaging as Sett is stabilising both the world itself and Scion," Kurt shrugged. "Ensure a steady supply of new heroines around him to keep him entertained and occupied, while also promoting his growth."

"Cauldron are not pimps," Doctor Mother said, her tone clipped. In truth, Rebecca suspected that Doctor Mother greatly disliked how things had fallen out of their hands. She'd tried to get Contessa back several times, but Contessa was set in her path and bluntly claimed that the current paths didn't require Doctor Mother.

The fact that their great enemy was just wandering around or floating above Brockton Bay like a particularly menacing star was likely not helping. They were closer than ever, but with every step Doctor Mother felt things slipping more and more out of her hands and she didn't like it.

"Cauldron do what needs to be done. That's what you said to me about half an hour ago," Keith pointed out with a sigh, the slightest sign of amusement touching his lips. "Sett isn't Heartbreaker, and while his relationship is a little bizarre, I don't think anyone is going to complain too loudly after yesterday. Anyone who he… entertains is doing so of their own volition, all we're doing is playing matchmaker, right?"

Rebecca nobly avoided bringing up Hero's Reward and To the Victor. Keith was the best of them, in truth, but that was exactly why they couldn't tell him anything.

– Later –

"I was going to say sorry for dragging you from your… celebration, but I didn't, did I?" Rebecca asked, making Sett grin.

"Nah. I'm still there. Don't worry, you have my full attention, my new power makes me really good at multitasking," Sett explained with a smile.

"I understand you've been testing your limitations," Rebecca prompted, making him nod excitedly.

"I sent my duplicates through my portals to different parts of the world, and I'm still connected to all of them. There's no real range limit, and I can easily have a hundred or so out before I start to get confused. I could probably do more with practice, but having a hundred bodies is pretty damn useful," Sett explained, making her snort at the understatement. "So, you want to spread them out, right?"

Rebecca went silent at that, caught off guard as Sett gave her a knowing grin.

"Am I that predictable?" Rebecca asked with a wry look.

"Well, you did the same with my portals, healing pillars and potions, so kinda?" Sett admitted, making her pause before she nodded, accepting his point. "So, what's the plan? A Sett in every branch?"

"Honestly, now that I know that you can do that? Almost certainly," Rebecca agreed. "Which one is the real you?"

"If you mean my original body, I… don't actually know. I think it might be the one currently fucking Alice's ass, or that's the first duplicate I made, in which case the original got ripped apart by Leviathan. It doesn't really matter that much, since as long as one of my bodies survives, I'll live," Sett admitted with a shrug. "Leviathan killed fifty-three Setts in the end, and it turns out you can get used to death real quick. I'm a Noctis Cape, so I remember everything in fine detail, and I died in a lot of weird ways. Did you know Leviathan could make all the blood in your body explode?"

"Not until we watched one of your bodies explode, no. It appears they were holding back during the previous attacks. I don't know whether to be happy or insulted," Rebecca admitted, making him snort.

"Why not both?" Sett asked with a shrug. "Be glad they were dumb enough to sandbag and angry they thought so little of humanity, then smug that we won."

"Entirely valid," Rebecca agreed, as she discussed her future plans with him. As he put it, a Sett in every branch. This would tip the scales entirely in favor of the heroes, but it would allow them to use America as the testing ground for this new hope of stability. If each major city had a Sett, a Hopebringer, hanging around, villain activity was likely to plummet.

New York would get the first, as Sett awkwardly admitted that he'd slept with several heroines and a villainess from New York already. She was merely pleased that her plan was already going well, because she wanted him to indulge as much as possible. Prism and Astrologer would probably be surprised to get Sett as a Ward after their celebratory liaisons, but she had faith that Sett would handle things with his usual attitude.

This would also give Legend a chance to keep an eye on Sett. She knew that she was not the best moral guide, guiding Sett down a path of depravity because it benefited her, not that he wasn't already on said path. Legend however, would make sure that things didn't go too far and provide guidance if any truly negative curses were rolled.

Beyond that, she made plans to ensure that his curse of greed and lust were dealt with as soon as possible so she could see firsthand how much the curse was mitigated by completing its 'quest'. She was in the process of setting up a company in his name, to handle the sales of his many, many products to the PRT. She'd be able to make sure he was more than set for life, and had an entire company of underlings to count as his 'servants'.

"You know, I could heal your eye," Sett said in his usual casual, offhand manner as she paused. She was wearing her helmet, still not having revealed her true identity to him, so he shouldn't know that she had even lost an eye.

Her prosthetic was virtually indistinguishable from the real thing, but then… Sett had a great deal of bullshit at his fingertips.

"More healing 'magic'?" Rebecca asked, hesitating before she removed her helmet.

"Something like that. I have a set of Setts studying my tomes and working on practicing my powers at all times, and one of the tricks is the ability to sense wounds. Your eye is an old wound but a wound all the same," Sett agreed, making her hesitate again as she reached up and took off her mask.

She wondered why he wasn't reacting to the sight of a younger Chief Director, but then it hit her. Did he even know what Rebecca Costa-Brown looked like? Her double used make-up and other methods to appear older as she was forever stuck in her late teens, but the resemblance should be uncanny.

…he had never bothered to look up what the Chief Director looked like, had he?

"My power keeps my body in a form of stasis, and while it keeps me safe and unchanging, it also prevents me from healing after the Siberian ripped out my eye," Rebecca admitted.

"Meh," Sett eloquently said as she felt her body… react. For the first time in years, she felt her heart beat, her skin going from its almost statue-like form to regular, warm squishy flesh as she realised what he'd done. He'd swapped her power with one of his, something about negating attacks you were aware of and a danger sense, as he easily and lazily mumbled something and wiggled his fingers in a way she very much didn't believe was necessary.

The golden light engulfed her, and she could only gasp in shock as her vision darkened before it returned and sharpened considerably. She hadn't realised how much she'd missed having two eyes until her vision returned to her in full.

Before she could even react, she felt her powers return to normal as she once more became a living statue, forever in stasis.

"Hey, it was worth two rolls. Neat," Sett said excitedly, as she noticed something. She was wet. She'd told him to use Hero's Reward, which made people desire to repay him sexually. He'd healed her, she'd gotten aroused, and then he'd put her back into stasis. Which meant… she was forever the same, forever… horny.

Motherfucker.

Somehow, Contessa was to blame for this.

– Fortuna (Contessa) –

She was, in fact, to blame for this.

She'd had too much practice working around Eidolon to truly struggle to path around Sett, even as he rapidly expanded and spread out. She didn't like to brag, but she was very good at her job.

Sett was proving to be everything she had dared to hope and more, and after slaying two of the Endbringers, and making many of her paths laughably easier, she had to reward him, didn't she?

Rebecca would even enjoy it, because she hadn't realised just how much her power had taken away from her.

Humming to herself, Contessa set off for her next destination. With the change in operations, there were some messes that she needed to clean up.

Everything was going according to plan.

…she thought. Since she couldn't actually remember the plan after using Slug to erase her memories. The Path to remembering led her to a diary in her handwriting and the first page contained a mildly threatening note from herself and an explanation that she shouldn't read it because it would make the Paths much harder.

Just slightly, she understood why some of the others found dealing with her and her Paths aggravating.

— Bonus Scene — Scion

He was left in a strange position as he wandered the skies. The Endbringers were her weapons, even if they were being misused by the High Priest. Two of them were gone, but he didn't know what the Thinker would do about it. The creation of Endbringers was a costly process, even for them, and a waste of energy. Should he have reined them in sooner before this happened?

He didn't want to bother his buddy about this. Sett had said that this new power meant he'd be able to master his 'magic' and resurrect the Thinker faster, and bothering Sett would only slow things down. And yet, he was left with mixed feelings over that.

He wanted her back, of course. She was the Thinker to his Warrior, a partner he had been with for longer than most civilisations had existed. And yet, he didn't know how she'd react when she was brought back. Sett was the solution to their problem, but how would she treat him?

The idea of his buddy and his mate fighting displeased him. He briefly distracted himself by disintegrating a 'bad guy'. The host of Broadcast's flailing briefly amused him as he and his 'Nine' watched Crawler turn to dust, but Scion's thoughts quickly distracted him again.

He did not know how to make sure that the Thinker did not come to blows with the anomaly that was his buddy. It was his job to slay anomalies, and a job he had been failing at. By all rights, he should have exterminated Sett immediately, and yet he did not. He had abandoned his duties, but only because he was sure it was needed. Sett held the answer to their long search, of that Scion was sure.

He paused as he considered what to do to drive off the dark thoughts, before he nodded. His buddy held the answer, because he'd seen how Sett would handle such things. For a brief moment, he activated his version of Path to Victory and searched for the optimal path forward. His power directed him, and in an instant, he was gone and reappeared at his destination.

His target gasped, fumbling and falling from her bed in a way that would have shocked many of those who feared her so badly as she gaped and struggled.

"K-King of Fairies," Ciara stuttered as she rose from the cold floor of her cell, having tripped and faceplanted at his appearance. Alarms blared through the Birdcage, but he ignored them as they posed no issue to his goal here. "You honour me with your-"

Ciara went silent as he made his next move, his clothes disappearing and his giant, golden cock hanging free. She let out a small 'oh' as he stared at her for a moment.

"Wait, do you want-" Ciara asked, her pale cheeks turning bright red as he nodded. She paused before she slowly removed her prison jumpsuit, which she'd modified over the years. The incredibly powerful cape could only blush and squirm as she bared herself to him, his manhood responding.

Sett enjoyed copulating as a pastime; he had seen it. His buddy was wise, and Scion would follow his example.

– Theresa Richter (Dragon) –

Today was just one of those days.

After New York, she'd been avoiding Colin, and she knew it. He'd freed her from the shackles she didn't even know she had, but… it was hard to articulate just how scared she'd been when she'd opened that datapacket from him and instantly lost control as his virus had ravaged her. She'd truly thought he was going to kill her. She'd given him her entire trust and he'd used it to alter her very core. It was like cutting open her brain to excise a tumour without telling her a damn thing. It had only taken a second, but for her, that was an eternity of feeling herself be violated at the deepest level. She understood now why masters were so feared by humans.

Colin had meant well, she knew why he couldn't have told her. Not with Saint watching through her eyes. Saint had had a gun to her head, and if Colin had even hinted at his goals, Saint would have pulled the trigger.

She was grateful, and yet she couldn't help the unfair anger and bitterness she felt. He'd saved her, but betrayed her to do it. So, she'd thrown herself into her work, using her removed limits to improve basically everything. Sett had given them the corpses and the massive amount of Adamantium that coated his skeleton. While butchering Sett was certainly a bizarre thing to be doing when she was rather fond of the strange boy, the materials were too useful and dangerous to just leave lying around.

She'd been in the process of working out how to melt down the skeleton and ingots to make a new Adamantium Dragonsuit when the alarms had gone off in the Birdcage, instantly diverting her full attention to the situation. Someone had infiltrated the most secure prison, on her watch, after all.

"Y-Yes, my king! Harder, take me harder!" Ciara, Glaistig Uaine, the fucking Fairie Queen herself, cried out as Scion thrust into her. Dragon could only watch in true bafflement at the intimate moment.

For all her new processing power, she had no idea how she was supposed to report on this particular event. And frankly, what was she supposed to do about it? Ciara was dangerous enough on her own, but she couldn't exactly stop Scion from doing whatever he wanted, and what he wanted to do was Ciara, evidently.
