Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: January: The New Student

A new year started and so did a new semester. School grounds were packed upon students returning from their break. Most students returned the day before break ended.

It was January 6 and all students were in class. Mr. Hexon had his students before him and he missed the feeling of not having them around. He was going through some notes on future events and updates. The door was then opened revealing a boy who walked in, a little robot waist height accompanied him. Hexon paused seeing someone at the door and so did everyone else turning to the new arrival. Hexon looked at the boy with his banged dark eye bags. The boy stood at the door and was obviously nervous.

The small robot slid over to Hexon handing him a file, he didn't read the file as yet but he could tell what was in it. He could feel himself getting more tired already. He opened the file examining it's contents and it was as he expected, the boy was assigned to his class. He was a new student. At first it made no sense to Hexon, but seeing the documents were sealed, stamped and carried a legitimate signature he had no other choice, but to accept it.

Hexon handed the file back to the robot after signing it, he placed his finger at the bottom left of the document as his thumb was scanned and copied. The little robot left, leaving the boy. Hexon sighed before finally looking at the boy. He held his head keeping it up after seeing the boy.

" I guess your my addition burden," Hexon started his voice tired as usual.

" Welcome. Introduce yourself and get out of my way," he added finishing his sentence.

The boy hesitantly walked to the front taking center stage. All eyes looked to him and he wished he could crawl under some chairs. Before he said anything he gathered all the courage he could muster before letting it out.

" My name is Hai Pentmore. I'm seventeen years old, my status is Class M3. I wish to defend for the greater good. Thank you for having me, I wish to get along with you all," Hai spoke pausing between sentences when necessary, his voice bold and a little shaky as he was nervous. He bowed immediately after speaking, bowing lower than ninety degrees.

" Hmm not bad," one of the students commented. No one was expecting a new student so they all had thoughts and comments of their own.

" He does seem a bit tense, but he does appears acceptable," Tyxin said from his seat, his voice only loud enough for his classmates close by to hear.

The students whispered their comments as Hai nervously remained at the front waiting for instructions.

" Settle down everyone. As he just mentioned his name is Hai Pentmore and he will be your classmate for the rest of the year. I guess we could use this form session as an introduction session. Everyone stand, be brief about yourselves and whatever. Start from front to back, Lawrence you first," Hexon explained more than happy about Hai's unexpected visit. All the students already knew that Hexon's words were the last he was going to speak.

" Yes sir," they all answered.

" My name is Lawrence Yen, seventeen years old, my Class H3 and welcome," Lawrence said as he stood up.

" My name is Lynx Ro, I am seventeen years old and Class L3," Lynx introduced also standing.

" Ash Redbyon, I'm seventeen and Class L2,"

" Zen Rayden, seventeen years of age, Class M2," Zen introduced smiling wide as usual.

" I'm Arsa Choi, I'm sixteen and from Class M2,"

" Ray X-Vin, seventeen, Class H1," he said not bothering to stand.

" I'm Jai Belgard, I'm sixteen, Class H3,"

" Will White, seventeen, Class M1,"

" My name is Tyxin Navis, I'm seventeen years of age and I'm from Class H1. I look forward to our semester together and welcome,"

" My name is Quil Spikin, I'm seventeen, Class H2," As Quil introduced himself Ray scoffed under his breath as he watched Quil stood up.

" Reeca Bell here, I'm seventeen and Class M2,"

" Shane Mitch, I'm sixteen and from Class M3,"

" Tina Sheild, I'm sixteen and Class H1,"

" My name is Zori Bell, I'm seventeen and Class M3,"

" Taron Mile, seventeen and Class M1,"

" It's everyone's future star here. I'm Pixie Mercury, I'm seventeen years old and Class H1. We'll definitely become friends," her voice sounding sweet as always.

" Fredrick Finn, seventeen, class M1," He also didn't stand.

" Melton Venus, sixteen , Class M2,"

" Jade Pink, sixteen, Class M3,"

" Dar-Ce Melhin, I'm seventeen, Class H2,"

No one was told how to introduce themselves, but since Lawrence started his in the way he did everyone simply decided to follow. There were four students going down in a row and five across. No sooner than the students had finished their introduction the bell rang. Immediately as the bell rang Hexon woke up and left, everything went as just as he wanted it to, but his students were already aware. It didn't take long before their teacher entered and it was now their math session.

Their math teacher too was unaware of the addition to the class, she didn't question too much and added him to her registry. She then told everyone to take their seats, but being new Hai didn't have one. Tyxin stepped up confidently and explained he would take Hai to get his desk and chair. The teacher nodded and granted them permission.

At lunch time Hai being the new student was approached by others. He was from Class M3 so he wasn't neglected or ignored. A lot of students wanted to know about him, he had a charming face and was always smiling. It didn't look like Zen's bold smile, it looked different. Soft, gentle, polite and shy.

Hai settle into school with no problem as the days went by.

There were three main Classes in society, High, Middle and Low. There was High which consisted on governors and generals, well established soldiers or rich people.

There was the middle class people who were regular city people.

And last and always last was the Low class. All people from the Steam house was of Low class.

All classes were then split into sub-classes with L3 at the very bottom. From lowest to highest it was Class L3, L2, L1 and the in the middle class category it was Class M3, M2, M1 and in the High category was H3, H2, H1. Each class was given upon birth, it wasn't permanent as if one could exceed them selves in society they could change their class.

Being born to one of the classes automatically designs one's class. If one's parents were parting and depending on the one they went with they could change your class. They could be siblings but still from different Classes. Some people could also change their class by marriage. If a parent got married to someone of a higher class their child's class could change if the opposite partner permits to it.

If someone had enough money and moved to upper classes their rank wouldn't change as they needed achievements for their rank to change. They could live among the upper classes, but they would still be registered as Low Class.

One could either do your best to go higher in society and be treated with respect and be acknowledged by all or slip up in life, fall backwards and be mocked.
