Chapter 117 - The war Begins

Leaves fell from the grand tree onto Fiviana's nose, tickling her awake. She looked around and saw her sister safely right next to her. Fiviana breathed a sigh of relief as she saw all her sister's wounds had healed. She tried shaking her sister awake but to no avail.

Fiviana stood up and searched for the Aeon that had saved her and her sister. After wandering around in the temples of Serenity she finally found Sekito lying on the floor holding her chest with a pained expression on her face. Fiviana planned on trying to help but pulled back her arm when Sekito's eyes fluttered open.

Her eyes were bloodshot red and empty. Fiviana was taken aback by how she looked. She was not the same serene Aeon she read about in the books. This was just a person suffering with their own problems, not some god.

Fiviana tried to talk to Sekito only to be met by incoherent muttering as she wandered around.

As Fiviana turned her back and decided to head back to Marlowlia she felt two hands on her shoulder.

She felt how the two hands on her shoulders were trembling. Turning her head she saw those hopeless eyes of once such a stoic person staring at her. It was as if Sekito was trying to see Devina in her. But no matter how much she looked Sekito never saw her sister.

Grasping those cold shaking hands of Sekito's Fiviana thought about what would have happened if she had lost her sister. But as long as her sister was alive, she would do anything for her. Because Marlowlia had dedicated her life to finding a way to cure her and this was the only way to repay her.

A few days have passed since then and Marlowlia had recovered. She was visibly distraught over what happened to their mom and even more distraught over the Aeon change inside of her. And while they were running away from those soldiers that day, Fiviana had completely missed that her brother had vanished. He was carrying Marlowlia with her but then he suddenly disappeared.

And as for Sekito, she had lain herself inside the giant oak tree and not moved from that spot for a while. Fiviana was practically taking care of two mentally ill people who couldn't even feed themselves properly. They would mutter incoherent nonsense and not react to anything. It was as if they had lost their humanity.

Fiviana herself felt miserable but bore with it because it was nothing compared to being sick in her room all day. She could change stuff now and decide for herself what she wanted to do. She felt that she was useful for once and helping her sister and Sekito was her way to repay her debts.

But then came that prophesied day which would bring the total destruction of our country. An eerie mist washed over the whole world. Fiviana looked from the mountains of Serenity and saw that the whole city of Nautilus had been swallowed in a dense fog one of which she had never seen before.

Far far away in a desolate forest, the smell of blood found its way to the Silver Saint who was enjoying dinner with a family who had taken him in. He still had wounds all over his body after the battle against Isadora and Wolte but sensing the belligerence in the air he stormed out of their house and manifested a silver sword in his hand.

"So you filthy dragons have finally decided to come again. COME, I will be the one to shatter all of you."

The mist washed over him and covered the village he was in. He leapt into the air and used his silver sword to fly towards Nautilus.

Aylin and Vivshi were walking together at night holding each other's hands as we both stared into the horizon. The morning sun which should have risen was covered in dark smog. Emovi stared intently into the fog and saw that she saw something in the horizon.

Silhouettes could be seen beyond the ocean. I squinted my eyes and made out the outlines of a ship… another ship… and before I knew it, there were thousands of ships stretching as far as the eye could go.

*Meanwhile….*

Isadora stood with Glei and her subordinates on her ship staring out into the vast ocean.

"LOOK LOOK, I think I see land!"

She could hear the battle cries from the other ships. Because of Dexterity's and our king's contract being expired our king had ordered a full-on assault across the whole world. Scouring all lands for women that might contain our queen's soul.

As Dragons, we were obligated to follow our king without questioning his decrees. But I Isadora don't want to claim a single life, but it is in my blood to spill the blood of humans. Glei put her hand onto my shoulder and reassured me that she and the others would take care of that for me, and I could just sit back and support them with orders.

I sighed as I put my head on the deck and stared into the ocean.

"Wolte, where are you when I need you the most?"

We had been given the orders to completely eradicate the city of Nautilus by our king. He had deemed the city which had the blood of Hectima the hero to be too dangerous. Descendants of that city had to be snuffed out before they caused more trouble.

Through some intel we gathered, it is said that Nautilus was changing. The current government is a dictatorship run by the Aeon of Guilt Allegrano.

"This might be a little more difficult than I thought…"

Glei analysed a map of Nautilus and told us about the city gates and where we would dock.

I stepped down from the deck and stopped Glei before she said anything more.

"Our enemy is an Aeon, don't be too hasty."

"You are right… Allegrano… the god tricker."

Glei reevaluated the situation and told her men to gather up for another strategy. Isadora smiled and walked back to the deck. Though she had a brilliant strategist on her ship, she couldn't help but feel a little worried for what would come next.

*Meanwhile*

In the capital of Fukviyu, the king is sent a casus belli by the King of Rhene.

"What is this tomfoolery? A war declaration against our whole country? WHERE IS MY SON? BRING HIM HERE AT ONCE!"

"But Sir… lord Viego is in Nautilus at the moment."

The capital sent out notices to all the cities throughout the land to prepare for an all-out war against the Dragons.

Hidden in the skies flew thousands of airships powered by hundreds of dragons. The commander of the main army and the strongest dragon Nale stood on the ship with his arms crossed as he peered down on the capital of Fukviyu.

Hundreds of his elite soldiers surrounded the capital with cannons pointed at it.

*Meanwhile*

Fiviana ran down the mountain to check what was going on. But as she exited the smoggy forest she saw the ships lined up on the shores of Nautilus. She used the forest's vegetation as cover and watched the ships closely.

*Meanwhile*

In Allegrano's office, he gets the notice from the king about the approaching Dragon army but as soon as he gets the letter from the king he throws it into the fireplace and continues to watch as the ships approach his city.

"Filthy dragons that ruin my show, such disgusting creatures."

He stood up, adjusted his tie and suit and exited his office.

"Aeon Acclimation, Nebbia della Mente."

An invisible force field engulfs the city of Nautilus as Isadora clasps her hands together.

"Heed me world."

Time freezes.
