ETHAN'S DECISION
Jace got home that night since he has received a call from his mother, he went inside her room and she had slept, he saw that person whom they call her father in the living room, reading a newspaper with his glasses. He greeted him and left for his room. Just then Ethan arrived, he tried to listen to what they were saying, but he couldn't hear a thing, he just heard them mumbling, he gave up and took a shower, then he sat down under his reading light, trying to read something before he sleeps but he was infuriated, Kate never liked him, she only thinks about him as a friend. He was frustrated and lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling.
Ethan dried his hair after the shower and sat on a chair. He brings out Kate's number and smiled,
" Should I call her or not?" Ethan asked himself with the desiring smile and look on his face, and he remembers something which lit his face up
" Right, she was wearing Jace's uniform, why didn't I think of this earlier," He said and smirked and brought out a paper and pencil then he drew her as he could reconnect how he saw her standing like a hero, he smiled again
" It's, done," He said and stretch the paper up
" Whoa Ethan you are so cool, how come you are so talented, this is her, you did a great job Ethan" complimented himself and headed to Jace's room. He enters and saw him laying helplessly on the bed.
" Bro!" He walked toward Jace.
Jace sat up and looked at his brother, he wondered what he was up to this time,
" What brought you here?" He asked,
" No greetings? Okay, that's fine. Did you know this person?" Ethan opened the paper and showed him what he had drawn. Jace eyes brightened up, he quickly recognized see the person, he looked at Ethan
" How did you know Kate? Did she do something bad to you?"
"What? ' Kate' Is that her name?".
" How did you know her?"
" She forgot something in my hand and I want to return it"
" It's okay, give it to me, I will give it to her," Jace said, stretching out his hand
" Why? Are you that close to her?"
" She is in my class, I mean, she is my classmate as well as a friend. So let me give it to her"
"No, I can't give you, I have something to tell her. Thanks for letting me know about her class. Good night bro" He smirked and tapped Jace's shoulder gently, then he went back to his room.
Jace bit down his lower lips, he had fallen for his tricks. He couldn't help but wonder what he wanted to give her.
Ethan lay on his bed with enthusiasm.
" This is nothing but fate," He said, grinning. Making up his mind not to go back to England to study but to Jace's school. To meet that girl who swayed his heart. He smiled.
The next day, it was Friday and Jace had yet to arrive, the first class was about to start and everyone has settled down then Kelvin went to Kate.
" You must be proud to have someone on your side. I mean Jace or should I say your boyfriend?" Kelvin said and mumbled arise among the students. Kitty stood up
" Kelvin, stop that fake rumor!"
She said with gritted teeth,
" Are you sure it's a rumor? Let's wait and see, you will realize you are a dump" Kelvin said and everyone laughs quietly. Kelvin stood in front of Kate, who was staring meanly at him. Just then Jace arrived and saw Kelvin, he walked toward him, giving him an evil look.
" It's okay, I'm not doing anything to her, we are just talking, me and your girlfriend," Kelvin smirked and left then Jace looked at Kate before he went to his seat. Kitty was fuming with anger as she heard what the others were saying about Kate and Jace.
At break time, Kitty went on a walk, and then she saw the girls gathered, and she was curious about what they were saying, then she approached them.
" I heard the new girl and Jace was dating" The first girl started
" Rumor has it that they have been dating since when they were young"
" Could that be the reason Jace has never dated anyone?"
" Right, he must have been waiting for her"
" How I wish someone wait for me too"
" I don't know Jace has this loyal and sweet side of him"
" You see how he stare at Kelvin earlier, I have never seen him like that"
" I envy her"
" You did be since you have no work to do. And you do have, you are just so lazy spreading the fake rumor around" Kitty said and all the girls leave angrily
" What is the problem with her"
" It's probably because she was dumped!" The girls said, giggling, and left. Her breathing was filled with anger, and she went searching for Kate, fortunately, she saw her sitting on a chair alone. She sat beside her
" Here you are," She said and Kate looked at her and looked away, ignoring her.
" Alright, I will get straight to the point. Stay away from Jace" Kitty said and stood up,
" Why should I?" Kate asked and also stood up, then Kitty turned to her
" You must be enjoying this, aren't you? The fact that people thought you were Jace's girlfriend"
" What is there not to be enjoyed of? I was called Jace girlfriend, isn't it good? He was one of the most popular students in our school, he was a genius and a very handsome guy, everyone wanted to be his girlfriend, so why won't I enjoy that?" Kate said with a smirk,
" You must have someone backing you. Stay away from him when I'm still nice, you will hate me when you see the other side of me" Kitty threatened and left. Kate sat down when she left.
" What was that? She almost made my heart jump out of my chest". She said and left to get some fresh air. She sat on the stairs and saw Jace on the field, playing football. She smiled and made a heart with his fingers and looked at Jace through it, she hoped the rumors were true, but this was all a dream, a dream she didn't want to wake up from but will be forced to by her mother. She sighed and stood up, then she left. Just then, Jace saw her as she stood up then he left the field and rushed to her.
Kate suddenly saw a cold hand grabbing her hand and she stopped, turning to the person.
He looked at the person, he was sweating, and his hair is wet, the sweat dropped from his hair to his sharp nose, and then to his thin lips. She swallowed loudly after seeing his charming lips and looked up at the person she knew it was, which was Jace. She never once mistook him, even in the darkness. She looked at him, and their eyes met
"Let's talk for some moment," He said and left, cleaning his hair with a white towel. He was wearing his sports armless cloth, showing his muscles and he looked super hot, Kate almost plug out the eyes of the girls ogling at him as she followed him quietly. He suddenly stopped, making Kate hit her head on his back.
" Ouch!" She rubbed her forehead and watched as Jace turned slowly to her.
" I told you to stay away from those gangs as much as you can," Jace said, worried,
" Why are you blaming me? I try my best to stay away from them, did you know how frustrated I was to keep quiet when he speaks ill of me?" Kate said, bursting out and closing her eyes. Jace looked at her, feeling guilty, he didn't mean to be harsh, he was just finding an excuse to ask about her relationship with Ethan, but this seems not to be the right time.
" I'm sorry, I don't mean that," He said and pat her hair
" Good girl, you did a good job keeping it in, you can come and take it out on me when you feel frustrated and angry okay?" He said with a smile, still patting her soft black hair. She was trying to do a good job of hiding her red cheeks but Jace seemed to notice, then he smiled.
" See you around," He said and wanted to leave when Kate called him, then he turned to her.
" Would you like to follow us home today?" Kate asked and Jace smiled.
" I promise, let's all go home together today," He said and Jace left, couldn't hold how glad he was to see Kate blush because of him.

At closing time, Kate, and others were at the gate, waiting for Jace
" Let me check on him," Kate said and was about to leave when he appears.
" Talk of the devil," Donald said. Jace approached them
" Sorry, for making you guys wait" Jace apologized and Donald sighed
" You haven't been yourself since we resumed, I'm 100% sure you are hiding something from us," Donald said and Jace smiled
" I promise to tell you guys when I sort things out," Jace said
" Don't go hard on yourself, remember you have us" Nala said and Jace smiled nodding then they leave.
They arrived at Jace's house first, and he entered after bidding them farewell.
Getting inside, he saw Ethan grinning ear to ear and running from one place to another. He wondered what caused his excitement and he went to the living room just to see the school material that didn't flinch him much because he knew he was planning to stay and study here but what scrunched his heart up was when he saw their uniform. That means he will be transferred to their school. He moved two-step backward, probably because his leg became numb all of a sudden. He saw his mother in a corner, crying silently. He left for his room, without uttering a word.
