Chapter 665 - Preparing, Elite Four Wikstrom

Galladite was one of the compensations Terrance received in exchange for totem aura technology, and it was a compensation that Terrance specifically requested.

Among his main team, aside from Altaria, Gallade was the only one with a corresponding Mega Stone among the discovered ones.

As the best external force to enhance strength, the Mega Evolution system was something Terrance could not afford to give up any chance to acquire.

Now that he was about to face the Steel-type Elite Four of Kalos, he had no choice but to prepare his trump card.

While the initial purpose of bringing Gallade here was to hone its techniques, now that he had the chance to battle a top-tier Trainer, fully enjoying the battle had become the priority.

"Gallade's Mega Stone? Sure, it should arrive in Kalos by tomorrow afternoon."

Inside the Gym, Kotoko nodded.

"Thanks. How's the Gym doing lately?"

"Not bad. Ever since your Beautifly stole the spotlight at the festival, a lot of Trainers have come to challenge Fallarbor Gym," Kotoko rolled her eyes. "Meanwhile, you've turned into a hands-off Gym Leader. Oh, and let me remind you, the second batch of Trainers choosing the second challenge mode is about to arrive."

"Ah… Time passes that quickly, huh…" Terrance was at a loss.

There were only a few Trainers in the first batch who chose the second challenge method, but now the number in the second batch had grown significantly. Terrance could already picture himself collapsing from exhaustion at Fallarbor Gym.

"Also, the guardian deity project has reached its preliminary completion. Under Beautifly's leadership, the Bug-type Pokémon are working together in quite an organized way."

"Mm, that was expected. I think after some more time, it could be opened to the public as a scenic area," Terrance said.

"Also, the final exam is coming up soon at Rina's police academy, and apparently there will be a parent-teacher meeting. Grandma Arlan is too old, and others are not suitable to go. I'll send you the specific time later."

"…" Terrance.

"In addition, there's a company planning to acquire the farmland around Fallarbor Town. What are your thoughts? Many residents have come to the Gym to ask for your advice… You…"

"Stop stop stop stop!!"

Terrance nearly hung up the call right then. He really shouldn't have asked those extra questions; he just wanted a Mega Stone, but now a flood of issues had piled up, giving him a massive headache just from hearing them.

"Give me some time to prepare for these things. Don't rush me…"

"I'm planning to return soon anyway."

After finishing his battle with Elite Four Wikstrom, Terrance intended to head to the ruins where the maiden statue was located to check on Altaria's training progress.

If there hadn't been much progress yet and Altaria still needed more time to train, he might return to Hoenn to take care of some matters before coming back to the Kalos region.

In preparation for the battle against Elite Four Wikstrom two days later, Terrance hadn't conducted any more battles with Gallade in the past two days.

Instead, they reviewed the battle videos recorded by the Rotom Pokédex and used simulation technology to help Gallade review its previous gains. During the battles, it was somewhat unreliable for Terrance to solely guide Gallade by himself. However, fortunately, Gallade Pokémon was naturally gifted in the art of Iaido, and with the help of the intelligent Trainer assistant Rotom Pokédex, their half-month of training had produced decent results.

However, this "decent" performance only applied when facing weaker opponents. When it came to top-tier Trainers with more experience, Terrance felt both anticipation and uncertainty.

In the forest surrounding the Battle Chateau, Terrance and Mismagius began a new round of special training for Gallade.

Illusion simulation!

Using the battle footage recorded by Rotom Pokédex, Mismagius created illusions to continuously correct Gallade's movements. This was the final training session between Terrance and Gallade before their battle with Wikstrom.

One day later, Terrance received Gallade's Mega Stone.

He also tried Mega Evolution with Gallade, allowing it to get used to its new body in advance.

After the Mega Ring was destroyed, Terrance simply bought a necklace-style pendant, placed the Key Stone inside it, and wore it around his neck.

After Mega Evolution, the biggest improvement in Gallade's stats was its strength.

This made its sword drawing technique even more threatening. The essence of the technique was a one-hit knockout. With such a massive boost in strength, Gallade could now deal terrifyingly lethal blows.

"Warm-up complete. Let's go." On the day of the battle, Terrance packed up and spoke to Gallade, who stood beside him.

Gallade nodded, sheathed its blade, and in the next moment, the leaves on trees within several meters around it began to rustle and fall.

A closer look revealed that each falling leaf had been cleanly split in two. The cut marks were sharp and precise.

This was one way to use Psycho Cut. By releasing solidified psychic energy like sword ki to inflict wide-range damage.

When Gallade struck, it unleashed dozens, even hundreds of attacks. This was one of the changes Gallade had made.

The continuous extension of the move, which enables it to produce a variety of different attack effects to deal with various situations, is also a result of the training over the past half month.

On the way to the Battle Chateau, Terrance recalled the information about Elite Four Wikstrom that he had found using the Rotom Pokédex.

Wikstrom was a Steel-type specialist from the Kalos region and one of its Elite Four. He was highly experienced, having served as an Elite Four for many years.

He and Kalos Champion Diantha were contemporaries, but he had always been overshadowed by her, failing every attempt to challenge for the Champion title.

"Steel-type Elite Four…"

According to the data Terrance found, Wikstrom possessed a Scizor capable of Mega Evolution.

Although the opponent had only revealed it once, it was enough to put pressure on Terrance.

If Wikstrom sent out Scizor, Gallade wouldn't have much of an advantage.

"Excuse me…" A hurried voice reached Terrance's ears. What he saw was a girl about his age, with a rare short head of silver hair.

"Do you know where the Battle Chateau is?"

"That way." Terrance pointed with his hand and said, "I'm heading to the Battle Chateau myself. If you don't mind, you can come with me."

Looking at the confused girl, Terrance spoke up.

"Thank you very much." The girl bowed in gratitude and began chatting with Terrance.

Through their conversation, Terrance learned that the girl's name was Eve. She was a Trainer who had only been traveling for two years. After hearing her reason for coming, Terrance slightly regretted personally showing her the way.

She was a fan of Elite Four Wikstrom and a Trainer who specialized in Steel types—

Terrance said nothing. She had come all the way after hearing that Wikstrom would appear at the Battle Chateau. And as Wikstrom's upcoming opponent, Terrance couldn't have felt more awkward listening to her shower Wikstrom with praise.

"This is the Battle Chateau." Terrance sighed, walked forward, and rang the doorbell.
