Chapter 189 - Chapter 189: Time to Address Things -4

"Security?" Shera repeated, frowning in confusion.

"Master… are you in danger?" Remu asked, startled.

"No, that's not what I meant," I said quickly. "I'm talking about the security of our home—this entire mansion."

"Then… are we in danger?" Lillia asked, gasping as she covered her mouth.

"I don't know for sure," I said in a serious tone. "But it's a possibility."

"Master, please tell us what's wrong," Anastasia said, her voice filled with concern.

"I'm worried that people with bad intentions might try to infiltrate our home," I admitted with a sigh. "It's been at the back of my mind since I first started living here… and that worry only grew as our family expanded. But today, I realized I can't keep ignoring it anymore."

"Is this because Miss Nightingale was able to enter the house unnoticed?" Roxanne asked, her expression tightening.

"I won't lie," I said, folding my hands on the table. "Seeing her inside the dining room was a wake-up call. A big one. It made me realize that we aren't as safe as we think—even inside these walls."

In every story I had ever read, the moment you believed you were truly safe… was the moment everything went wrong.

And in isekai worlds?

That was practically a rule.

Which is exactly why—

I refused to stay complacent!

"But… didn't you say, Master, that as a witch she can turn invisible and even walk through walls?" Sherry said uncertainly. "If that's true, then there wasn't much we could have done. If she didn't have those abilities, we definitely would have noticed her entering."

Her words reminded me just how terrifying Nightingale's abilities were for assassination.

Only someone with a sharp nose like Roxanne—or someone like me with Appraisal—would even stand a chance against that kind of invisibility.

I had already suspected after the Auction, that the world of Release That Witch was mixed into this one. I knew for certain that witches existed.

The moment I used Appraisal on Nightingale and saw her name and abilities, I recognized her from the original story. And on top of that, my Opportunity Sense kept warning me not to fight her.

All of those factors combined were the only reason I didn't attack Nightingale… and instead chose to befriend her.

If even one of those factors had been missing—

Or if it had been someone else with similar abilities infiltrating my home—

I wouldn't have hesitated.

I would have used everything I had to eliminate them.

Because someone like that…

Wouldn't just be a deadly threat to me—

…but to every single girl here.

"After talking with her, I don't think Miss Nightingale is a bad person," Roxanne said thoughtfully. "Even Wendy mentioned that she just likes to act tough. And now that this misunderstanding is resolved, I don't think she'll sneak into the house again, Master."

"I know that," I said with a sigh. "I'm not worried about her right now. I'm worried about others—thieves… or worse. People who might try to enter the house at night while we're asleep."

"But Master, you lock the gates at night, right?" Vesta asked uncertainly.

"A padlock won't stop thieves or bandits," Remu said in a serious tone.

"Exactly," I nodded, my expression tightening. "They could break the lock easily. The iron gate is far enough that we might not even hear it. Or they could just climb over the walls surrounding the estate."

I paused for a moment before continuing.

"And once they're inside… it's just a matter of breaking the front door, the back door… or even dismantling a window."

"Master, if they come into our house at night, we'll beat them up!" Shea said, clenching her fists.

"B-But what if we're asleep?" Kunou muttered fearfully, her voice trembling as Yasaka held her hand.

"I-I think someone would wake up from the noise they make… right?" Shera asked with a wry, uncertain smile.

"You, at least, wouldn't wake up even if they looted the entire house," Remu said bluntly.

"Hey! Don't say that in front of Master!" Shera snapped, pouting.

"Master, I would definitely notice if someone with an unfamiliar scent tried to enter our room," Roxanne said, trying to reassure me.

"That helps, Roxanne… but it's not enough," I said quietly. "I won't feel at ease if they can enter the house in the first place."

If they entered my room, I had plenty of ways to deal with the threat. At worst, I could evacuate everyone in batches using Warp—they wouldn't be able to follow us or even know where we had gone.

But what if they didn't come to me?

What if they chose another room instead?

The thought alone made my stomach churn.

Someone breaking in… while we slept…

Doing something to any of the girls before I even realized—

It was unacceptable.

"And from now on, I'll be spending most of the day in the labyrinth," I continued with a deeper sigh. "Neither Roxanne nor I will be here. I can't help but worry… what if something happens while we're gone?"

There were no phones here.

No way for them to contact me.

I would only find out after returning myself.

And keeping someone back just to maintain a Party Link would only slow down our labyrinth progress.

"Master is quite famous now," Anastasia said, rubbing her hands nervously. "There were many people at the auction yesterday. Not just merchants—even common folk must know now that Master has wealth… and many slaves."

"He was already well-known when Master rented this 'Ghost Mansion,' but after the auction it will be even more so," Sherry added. "Even today, the merchants at the cloth shop were far more polite to us."

"Our house is also quite far from the city and the Knight headquarters," Remu muttered, thoughtfully scratching her chin. "For bandits or thieves… this would be an ideal target."

"Hey, don't try to s-scare us even more…" Shera said, trembling.

"I'm just saying what they would think," Remu replied with a sigh.

"Setsuna can guard Master at night," Setsuna said, clenching her fist. "If bad men come, she will kill them all."

"Thank you, Setsuna," I said with a wry smile.

"Guarding is a good solution, Master," Roxanne nodded. "Two people at the main gate and two near the house entrance should be enough."

"We can take turns doing it during both day and night so the house stays secure at all times," Sherry added.

"As Catkins, Miria-oneechan and I can see better at night, so we can take the night watch," Remu said immediately.

'I would also like to keep an eye on the thieves. I will not let them steal the fish from the pond!' Miria declared angrily.

"Master, we can also take the night watch," Ram and Rem said in unison.

"Oni don't require much sleep at night, Master," Ram explained.

"Yes, so Nee-sama, and I would be perfect for it," Rem added with a small smile.

"If someone notices anything near the gate, they could ring that iron bell over there," Jasmine suggested thoughtfully. "If it's night, we would all wake up. If it's day, we can gather immediately."

"We can even set signals," Viviana added. "One ring for visitors… two rings for danger."

"And if they get close to the house, I'll hear it instantly if someone shouts 'thief!'" Shea said, her rabbit ears standing upright.

"One less thing to worry about is that all the walls here are coated with Shield Cement," Viviana said with a reassuring smile. "So other than Master, no one should be able to enter using Field Walk."

She gestured lightly toward the surroundings.

"The trees are also too narrow for Field Walk, which means they would have to approach on foot. We should be able to spot them coming, so a few guards should be enough to keep this place secure."

"These are all good suggestions," I said with a grateful nod. "But I don't like the idea of you all having to sacrifice your sleep just to guard the house."

"Master," Roxanne said as she gently placed her hand over mine on the table, "we are your slaves. It is our job—our duty and responsibility—to protect you and everything that belongs to you."

"Yes, so you shouldn't feel bad about this," Sherry added, taking my other hand. "This is what we should be doing in the first place."

Seeing the sincerity in their eyes—and the way all the girls around the table nodded in agreement—I couldn't help but sigh.

I finally understood why this didn't sit right with me.

To me, they weren't just slaves.

They were my waifus… my family… my lovers… people I wanted to protect.

But to them, the roles were reversed.

They saw themselves as slaves and me as their Master.

In their eyes, they were the ones meant to protect me.

It was… strangely sweet.

…but right now, it was also giving me a headache.

"This still doesn't seem like the best solution. You'll already be tired after coming back from the labyrinth… and other activities," I said, coughing awkwardly. "You all need appropriate, regular sleep so you can grow properly."

Back on Earth, growing bodies needed at least eight to ten hours of sleep to function properly.

I didn't know how much that applied to other races here—but it couldn't be that different.

"Setsuna doesn't need sleep," the wolf girl said stubbornly. "She only wants Master to be safe."

"And we can rotate schedules," Sherry added. "Whoever takes night watch can rest during the day."

"Master," Roxanne said softly but firmly, "we know how much you care about us. But we are here for you. We belong to you… so please, make use of us."

"Alright… let me think about it some more," I muttered with a sigh. "For now, keep this security issue in mind and see if you can come up with other solutions."

The girls nodded, and while the discussion continued around the plans we had made, I mostly stayed silent, organizing my thoughts.

I tried to come up with ways to improve the mansion's security, but the property itself was massive. On top of that, the nights here got incredibly dark—especially without the moon.

None of my modern ideas would work here.

And the only answer I kept circling back to… was manpower.

Using the girls in a rotating day-and-night watch still seemed like the only viable option for now.

Soon, they finished maintaining their equipment and stored everything back into the Explorer Bag.

I was mentally exhausted, so I urged them to head to the baths.

On the way, I quickly sent a message to Roxanne through the party link.

Once inside, I added the squeezed lemon juice into the bath—courtesy of Vesta—and wrapped a towel around myself.

Despite my earlier fatigue, both my body and mind felt strangely energized.

…Probably because I knew I would soon be able to see all these 18 girls naked together once more!

I adjusted my jobs, keeping Sex Maniac active, and waited.

The wait felt longer than it should have.

But soon enough, the girls entered—each wrapped in towels, carrying buckets and soap with them.

Many of them seemed bolder today, removing their towels without much hesitation, revealing their stunning figures in the candle light. Others were still shy, carefully covering themselves as they undressed.

For some reason… those shy, hesitant movements only made them seem even more captivating.

The girls began helping each other, lathering soap and washing one another as laughter and soft chatter filled the bath.

But one group remained still.

Roxanne stood at the front, with Vesta, Setsuna, Anastasia, Yasaka, and Kunou behind her.

The same six who had spent the night with me yesterday.

They were clearly waiting—Roxanne must have already informed my wish to them.

"Girls," I said with a small smile, "since we have some extra time tonight, I'll be washing your bodies… one by one."

A few of them stiffened slightly at my words.

"After that, I'll help wash your hair as well. We'll be doing this in a rotation basis from now on every night while bathing."

I had chosen these girls because they would be more comfortable with me after last night.

I also didn't want them to feel neglected just because I wouldn't be spending tonight with them again.

Hopefully, this show of attention and affection would ease any lingering jealousy.

At the same time, it would serve as a quiet incentive for the others whose turn hadn't come yet… giving them something to look forward to.

And if I was being completely honest with myself—

…I simply wanted another excuse to enjoy touching their sexy hot bodies!
