Chapter 1014 - Mysterious Diaries

Before the Summit War, Tesoro had already partnered with Morgans to establish a digital news platform based on the Rotom Phone. However, traditional journalists were slow to accept this new model, so the Rotom Digital News hadn't yet grown in the outside world.

But things were different within the Beasts Pirates. The fully functional Rotom Phone had already been distributed to the officers early on, and members of the Beasts Pirates had become accustomed to this convenient information tool, especially the group chat function, which was extremely useful.

Most of the members on Arceus's Genesis ship were believers of the Arceus Cult. Among these believers, some had a very special task: to record the glorious moments of their Lord.

Unlike court historians who stayed close to kings to record their words and deeds, they were the most quick-witted individuals within the cult. Their only duty was to spread the glory of Arceus in ways that would not displease him.

During this process, Shayna also acted as a gatekeeper, so nothing had ever gone wrong.

Arceus was normally very low-key. The Summit War was one of the rare occasions where he personally took action. That Power which was like punishment from the heavens became the most effective tool in the cult's missionary work.

That was a real, undeniable miracle. For a newly emerging religion, nothing is more effective than genuine miracles.

"The Lord does not intend to judge the world, but to save it. This chaotic world has long since lost its moral baseline. Only the Lord's glory can drive out the 800 years of darkness.

The bounty is a sign of the enemy's fear of the Lord. The Lord has not yet fully awakened. What we must do is to pave the way for His return to full strength and spread His gospel.

Our efforts will surely be rewarded in the world to come!"

Under the statue in the monastery, Misu held the doctrine in one hand and pointed to the Rotom-projected image with the other. Below, a chorus of unified voices responded in agreement.

In addition to the believers present here, there were also believers in other territories using Rotom for remote communication, members of the Knights Templar spreading the faith outside, and the Knights of Retribution fighting blasphemers. It could be said to be the most successful gathering since the founding of the Arceus Cult.

If a new war were to arise, these believers would have the courage to go to the battlefield. Their strength might not match that of the knight orders, but in terms of morale, they were not inferior to any army.

With faith as their support, this force would never fear death.

"But do not forget, the Lord does not desire meaningless death. Outside these walls, your own lives are what matter most.

When you encounter enemies, the first thing you must do is contact those responsible for combat, not throw your own lives away."

Under Misu's guidance, the members of the Arceus Cult began their religious service, while something entirely different was going on in another region.

In Kuri, inside Setsuna's room, Meowna and Wolff quietly snuck in. Seeing that Setsuna hadn't returned yet, Meowna extended a claw from her fingertip, attempting to open a locked drawer.

"Is it done yet?"

"Almost, I'm just about to open it. Mom didn't use a complicated lock."

"Don't just stand there watching, go to the window and be on the lookout."

Meowna quickly found the crucial spot. With a twist of her claw to the right, she smoothly unlocked the drawer, revealing a row of neatly arranged diaries.

Setsuna had a habit of keeping a diary, and she was the only member of the Beasts Pirates who had preserved all her entries completely. These diaries didn't just record her personal life; they also chronicled major events that had taken place within the Beasts Pirates.

When the officers of the Beasts Pirates forgot certain things, asking Setsuna always helped. As long as they remembered the specific date, Setsuna could usually find what they needed in her diaries.

At this point, these were no longer just ordinary diaries; they had basically become a history of the Beasts Pirates' development.

And the reason the two of them were flipping through the diaries was because of a request from Yamato.

[Can you two please go check Queen's lab for his work logs, and look for evidence of him slacking off?]

Before departing for the Summit War, Queen had handed over his authority to Zeraora to facilitate internal defense duties. Yamato remembered this, which is why she asked them to dig up some dirt on Queen; this sort of task wasn't exactly appropriate for adults to handle.

Though the two of them had followed Zeraora into the office, there were just too many documents inside, and they had no idea which ones were the ones Yamato needed. That's when they thought of Setsuna's diaries.

Setsuna had a habit when writing her diaries. She would use tags to add extra notes for certain things. For example, if Queen dragged Zeraora in for overtime before her date, she'd write something like "I'll remember this grudge."

By using the diaries, they could find specific dates. Then, by cross-referencing with Queen's work logs and eliminating certain entries, they could roughly determine whether Queen had set aside any tasks.

In fact, it was through clues in the diaries that the siblings had previously learned about the research on Energy Steroids.

Sometimes Setsuna would even show them her diaries and reminisce about the past. Otherwise, they wouldn't have known where she kept them.

Not long ago, Yamato had sent another message to the siblings, asking them to see if there was any new dirt to dig up.

"Mom has so many diaries, they're even more than our textbooks."

"Yeah, how did she manage to write so many?"

Before, Setsuna had only ever held a single diary when telling them stories, so they had never imagined that their mom had written an entire drawer full of diaries. What they didn't know was that this was only a portion of them.

But just at that moment, Setsuna silently appeared behind them.

"What are you two doing?"

"Mo-Mom?!"

Meowna glanced at Wolff, her eyes clearly saying: So this is how you keep watch?

"Don't bother trying to explain! I was your age once too. Everything you're doing now, I did back then."

"Peeking at someone else's diary is wrong. You need to respect other people's privacy. If you want to know something, just ask me directly."

Setsuna didn't get angry. She simply corrected their behavior and used the opportunity to teach them a lesson. Only after the two began reflecting on what they had done did she ask them what their goal was.

"Sister Yamato asked us to look for any dirt on Uncle Queen."

"She said Uncle Queen screwed her over during the Summit War, so she wants to get back at him."

"Oh, if that's what it was about, you could've just told me sooner. Come, let Mom help you look."

Within the Beasts Pirates, behavior like this at most counted as roughhousing. And if the target was Queen, then Setsuna had absolutely no qualms about lending a hand to settle some old scores.

Even though those things were in the past, thinking about them again still made her feel irritated.

While Queen's future looked grim, near the territory once ruled by Whitebeard, pirates who had heard of Whitebeard's death had begun to make their move. But what awaited them was Jack, who had just arrived here.
