Chapter 9 - Short and Sweet

With a new friend by his side, the once bleak and tasteless future now seemed a bit more promising.

Maybe, just maybe he didn't have to die in this ditch island.

"Wetin you dey think, boboyi? O ko mama wo ni, ki lo nwo gan gan?" Bade questioned, his attempts at ensuring communication between them was seen as he adopted the Pidgin English to get his point across.

(What are you looking at, this kid? You'd just fall into a daze everytime, what exactly are you looking at?)

The boy in questioned did not reply, rather he let out an expression that seemed to be a smile, if he still remembered the last time he smiled even.

Bade watched on, his eyes suddenly darkened as he looked at his friend, but later dissipating as he let out a sigh.

"Let's go get some food." He let out in pretend happiness.
