CHAPTER 5:
SOUL RECOVERY AND SOUL AWAKENING
Jian Chen looked at them while grinning.
"What you guys missed was, Long Chen's soul acted against his own will. Tell me among us whose soul could move with the kind of speed Long Chen moved with? And don't forget that he is a mortal. I have been thinking about it and came with a conclusion that the little guy's soul is something that is above our comprehension. His soul's grade and realm is so high that I can't even want to imagine what level it is and how his could achieve to reach such kind of level while being a mortal. And if it's so, then, the amount of energy in the pond is not even enough to harm his soul let alone kill him."
"Hahahaha! We have found a real treasure at last! Hahahaha!"
Jian Chen laughed so loud that the space started shacking and showing signs of cracking. He was so powerful that his voice alone could cause the space to shake so badly.
The others didn't notice the phenomenal he caused just with his laugh. They were all shocked by what he had revealed to them. In fact they knew exactly what he meant. If what he said was true, then, they couldn't bring themselves to think what it implied.
"You … you mean …?" Wu Shuang looked at him in shock and disbelieve.
'That means, he had an Ancient Emperor soul and above grade.' Wu Shuang thought in secret as he felt a cold shiver in his soul out of fear of the strength that Long Chen's soul possessed.
"Yes! Exactly. Hahahaha!" Jian Chen couldn't stop himself from laughing in joy and happiness.
"No way!"
"Impossible! It can't be!"
"This … no! this can't be real! There is no way that it's real!"
They all opened their mouths wide enough to fit an apple in shock. They knew what Jian Chen meant. If this was real, then, this was a miracle straight from the high heavens.
They knew what it meant to have such kind of soul in the first place. It was said in the ancient times that, whoever possessed such kind of soul, will be the ruler of all the universes. Everything that has life will have to obey and bow down to him. To them, it was a myth because there was never even a single time since the creation of the universes that such kind of soul had appeared.
Back in the pond, after Long Chen jumped inside, his consciousness got pulled in a mysterious space while his soul sank and laid at the bottom of the pond.
In a space full of dense mist, an illusionary figure materialized. The space was full of a dense white mist and nothing else. It had no end. The figure started looking around after arriving in the mysterious space in a dumbfounded look. The figure was none other than Long Chen.
"Where is this place? Is it a hidden space that I accidentally entered after jumping … no, after getting pulled in by I don't know what in the pond?" Long Chen furrowed his brows not understanding where he actually was. He couldn't understand what was really going on.
What he didn't know was that the space he was actually in, could only appear in cases of special souls that were referred to as Ancient Souls when they got seriously injured and lost most of their memories. No one knew what or who created such kind of place. This was something that no one has ever known if it exists. There was no one who has ever witnessed such kind of thing. It was because it was something that happened to Ancient Souls of the high grade. Not everyone who had an ancient soul could enter this space.
There were actually 5 grades to ancient souls. The weakest one was referred to as Ancient Soul followed by Ancient King soul, Ancient Emperor Soul, Ancient Divine Soul and Ancient Emperor Divine Soul as the strongest one.
This space is only entered by Ancient Emperor, Ancient Divine and Ancient Emperor Divine souls only. These three are the type of souls that there was no history or record of anyone possessing them. There were just myths and legends that nobody had never witnessed. It was said that they once had appeared in the Primordial Era and later disappeared but no one knew if it was true since there was not a single record about the primordial era. It had disappeared completely as if it never it existed in the first place. That's why very few people knew about the grades of the ancient souls but they couldn't gage and tell which grade it was if they saw one.
For Long Chen, his soul is more or as powerful as an ancient emperor divine soul. But Long Chen himself didn't know how powerful his soul actually was. All he knew was that his soul was freaking powerful.
While Long Chen was looking around, the dense white mist burrowed in his figure in massive waves. He felt a warm and cool feeling wash over him that he felt like mourning loudly in pleasure.
Before he could make a sound, something inside him cracked like a seal getting broken. Then he was flooded with images and scenes that nearly scared him in his head. He took a deep breath, calmed down and looked at the scenes and images carefully. So, it turned out that they were memories and experiences of his past life.
The scenes flashed in his mind starting from when he was a child, the journey of his cultivation and the challenges that he faced, till when he reached the pinnacle of his cultivation and he became the strongest God of the Immortal world. He was later attacked by the ones who always hated him and had wanted him dead for a very long time.
Long Chen had built a huge city where his family and friends lived. Because Long Chen had reached the peak of what could be reached in the Immortal world, he had always felt that it was not the end of cultivation. He had a very strong feeling there was another realm above the realm he had reached. But he couldn't reach that realm no matter how hard he tried. So, he decided to venture outside to other worlds and try to find a way to breakthrough.
One day when he was out in an adventure, his enemies formed an alliance of 20 Gods and decided to attack his city and kill his loved ones while he was away. They came and attacked the formation that Long Chen had created to protect the city. When the formation broke, Long Chen felt it from where he was. Too bad Long Chen was quite a distance away from home. When he felt the formation breaking and then receiving messages from his loved ones and friends, he rushed back as fast as he could. He had hoped that the formation in the palace where his people and him resided could hold for a while.
It would take him only half an hour for him to arrive. But the enemies were too many of them for the formation to hold out. By the time he arrived, the city was razed to the ground and everybody including his family and friends were all dead. Not a single person managed to escape or survive. Anger and sorrow clouded his mind. He regretted never having took care of all his enemies before he could decide to search for a way to breakthrough. He attacked the 20 gods in anger and decided to take care of them once and for all. He managed to kill ten of them. Although they were all at the same level, he was stronger than them.
Although he managed to kill half of them, they had come prepared on how to counter him and seriously injure him before making the final killing move to eliminate him. They surely managed to seriously injure him using some kind of wicked evil treasure. Seeing this, he decided to bring them all down with him. So, he took the risk and decided to explode himself. In the explosion he managed to kill five more but the other five escaped with serious injuries.
When he exploded, a certain treasure in the form of a pagoda which he had found in his adventures but failed to know what it was even after researching it for a long time, emerged from his body, sucked his soul before it could disintegrate in it and tore the space and fled from the Immortal world to some place, he didn't know what kind of place it was. The treasure stabilized his soul and prevented it from disintegrating and somehow healed his soul a little which prevented him from completely dying.
Then he was reborn in the mortal world {Earth}.
Long Chen opened his eyes and took a deep breath. There was a very terrifying light flashing in his eyes. A strong killing intent emerged from his soul in the pond but it disappeared instantly as if it was never there. The energy in the pond prevented the four gods from sensing anything. Otherwise, they would have been scared by the terrifying killing intent that Long Chen emitted. No one knew how they would react if they sensed the killing intent from a 'mortal'.
Inside the pond, Long Chen opened his eyes. There was only coldness and deep hatred in his eyes. The coldness nearly caused the water around him to freeze.
"Old hags; now that I am back, wash your necks and wait patiently for your daddy here to take your heads. I know it would be a surprise to see me alive. It is just a matter of time before I return to my peak and come hunting you all. Just sit tight and wait for me. Hehe!" Long Chen chuckled in coldness. He swore to make those bastards pay for what they did. He decided to kill all their descendants down to the last one without leaving even a single one alive. It also applied to the 15 Gods he killed. He would kill all of their disciples including their descendants.
He took a deep breath and cleared his mind. Revenge would come later when the time was right. But for now, he had to completely heal his soul and then see what kind of body the four guys would create for him. He calmed down and started absorbing the energy in the pond in frenzy to heal his soul.
The absorption force was so great that it started forming a whirlpool around him. His soul was sucking the energy in the pond in great amounts. If the four gods saw this sight, they would be too scared and terrified that he didn't know what they would say or do.
As his soul healed, the mysterious pagoda in his soul emerged. He couldn't sense it before, but now that his soul healed to a considerable amount, it finally shown itself. It then produced a suction force no weaker than the one his soul produced to absorb the spiritual energy and also started to absorb the energy in the pond.
The whirlpool around him doubled in size and extended around him. The force caused the spiritual liquid in the pond to form a wave and started rotating forming a small whirlpool at the center of the pond. The whirlpool started getting bigger in a matter of seconds. When the four outside saw what was happening in the pond, their eyes were wide in shock and disbelieve. They all froze as they stared at what was going on before them.
They could feel that the energy in the pond was decreasing at a very fast rate. That meant that Long Chen was behind all this. He was absorbing the spiritual energy at a terrifying rate that they found it impossible for someone to achieve such a feat. For them, they could only absorb at most a few drops at a time. But Long Chen absorbed it as if it was the common spiritual energy of heaven and earth.
They looked at each other in shock and no one knew what to say. They were all speechless.
