As for how their name and performance became so well-known in a few weeks, they simply spread the news through Dune Town and Illyan Town that special goods were carried by this unique caravan, and that there were very interesting performances involved.
They had spread this out even before Ansel and the others arrived, whetting curiosity early on.
With the two towns in line, the surrounding villages soon knew of it as well. Using their connections, they made sure the name of the circus was spread out in several territories.
Even if people didn't know it, they'd be curious, and because many people recognized it, people would subconsciously believe it was something popular mainstream.
Of course, the Circus was still unknown, and few people from territories other than Illyan and Dune would actually be willing to travel a day or two to go there, but there were enough tourists to confuse things.
