Chapter 1 - Prologue

The wind whipping around me was exhilarating, thrilling in an indescribable way. You had to experience it to know it. My exercise and adrenaline warmed me from within, while the cold air cooled me down. This is better than flying.

My hair flew in the air. I clenched my limbs and steadied myself on the skateboard. The endless clouds created and a lavender sky make for an out-of-this-world experience. The Glass Bridge, I was skating down and then up and then down once more, made the fantasy even more bizarre.

What a strange dream, I smiled my Monkey grin. I never want this to end.

Wait. Monkey grin? Who came up with that name?. A faint noise, a voice, I think, rings from the back of my head. Speaking.Screaming.I don't know the language, but it feels…familiar?

Something is wrong. Wait, is this really a dream? I see the road ahead of me get darker and darker, Lavender turns navy blue, then black, and the clouds smoke.

Wait. Something is not right. The ringing, no, the voice gets louder."..-Te..Sis- .".A figure forms. I don't know it. I don't know him.

He reached out, and as if on instinct, I do too as I launch myself off the skateboard. But my fingers touch nothing as they pass through him. My knees hit the ground.Hard.I feel pain. This is not a dream.

I stare back at the figure. It's glowing now, and for some reason, I am too. The world around us starts to swirl into a dark abyss, with both of us as the only light. I get up and chase after it again, and it moves towards me too. Tears flood down my face, but I don't know why.

The dark cracks open, and a large smoking hand emerges. It reached for the figure and clasped around him. It pulls the figure away as I chase and curse at it.

With the one final leap, I stretched my limbs to their limit, and a warm sensation flooded my body as I reached inhuman heights. The figure reaches out to me, too. But it's too late. The figure gets swallowed by the dark.

I glare at the abyss in front of me as I fall downward, and I know this for a fact–the Abyss glared back.
