Chapter 81 - Chapter 81 - Preparations for Establishment

Ethan looked up at the building. At the top was one of the most expensive restaurants in the city. He had only been here once before. But from what he understood it was completely rented out this evening. Which is why he texted Fisk that he would drop by toward the end of his meeting.

He walked through the front door nonchalantly, immediately taking notice of the various bodyguards that were waiting in the lobby. Russians, Yakuza, Chinese, Italian Mobsters, and Fisks men. He easily made all of them and ignored them.

They tensed as he confidently walked up to the elevator. One of Fisk's men frowned and stepped forward to confront Ethan. But the elevator door suddenly dinged and opened, and a man in an expensive suit stepped out.

"I would not do that," James Wesley talked to the guard then turned to Ethan, "Doctor Hilt, if you will please join me."

Ethan nodded and stepped onto the elevator. It went up and Ethan glanced at the right hand of Kingpin. "How is he?"

James Wesley used to be a lawyer that brushed shoulders with many rich people. But he became Kingpin's right hand after learning more about him. He even helped build the man's empire in the shadows. "Annoyed, Silverhand has become abrasive while the Yakuza are being demanding. He is trying to keep the peace but it has become difficult."

"Ah, well Hydra wants to rile up people. He just has to adjust his mindset to account for things like that popping up. Actually that reminds me of something else I have to talk to him about." The elevator arrived at its stop when it opened Ethan frowned.

"I apologize, but since they are using the main floor, Fisk thought it might be best that you use this floor to prepare for your meeting." Wesley told him before walking away.

Ethan walked to a large round table and pulled the tube off his back. Then he started setting up as he could hear the discussion getting heated in the lower seating area where Fisk was having his meeting.

Less than a few minutes later it got quieter as he saw Fisk climbing a set of stairs up to the level he was at. He already had the blueprints, papers, and contracts laying out. Fisk was dressed in a dark blue suit with a matching tie and white shirt.

"Doctor Hilt, I apologize. My previous meeting went a bit longer than I anticipated." Fisk and Ethan shook hands in greeting.

"That is alright, these things happen. But I suppose your… dining buddies- let's call them that, will be going out of their way to identify me." Ethan pointed out as he motioned to the table.

"Will that be an issue?" Fisk asked as he thought about it.

"No," Ethan chuckled, "but I would suggest watching the Japanese faction, I imagine their reaction will be the most entertaining." Ethan then turned to the table as Fisk raised an eyebrow in surprise. "I contacted you because I need someone with a construction business that I can trust."

Fisk nodded and looked over everything on the table. "Do I need to 'procure' land or anything else?"

"No, actually I just need you to set up the fences and management personnel for actually building it." Ethan explained as he handed a specific document to Fisk, "I am already working on getting the necessary muscle and machinery. As for the location, it is on that document, I already have ownership of the land and the abandoned warehouse. Both of which are uninhabited."

"Hmm…?" Fisk frowned and looked at Ethan at the side, "I assume there is a specific reason you asked for me instead of going to any construction company. Afterall, Fisk Construction is not that big."

Ethan smiled, "there is. I need the blueprints to be falsified on official documents and I figured you would be comfortable with that. I can take care of building inspectors, OSHA, and anyone else that might naturally come looking. But I still need the official records to be falsified."

"Well then," Fisk smiled and sat down, "let's discuss this further I will have Wesley bring some drinks." He waved at Wesley who was standing on the other side of the room.

It was time to really get things started.

Ethan walked through the warehouse with a sense of pride as he walked through the warehouse. There were fifty AI droids being manufactured by the machines he had set up in here. The warehouse was one of the many properties he owned in New Jersey, he had to set up here to lose his very persistent tail.

After finishing his arrangements with Fisk, he just needed to acquire the manpower to work the site. Which is what he was working on now. He would make them a week ahead of their scheduled ground breaking so the androids had time to adjust with existing.

Which is where the Umbros Opera Droid prototype came in. He would help them adjust and teach them the basics they would need to know. When they broke ground next week they would begin living at the construction site. The plans and schedule already told him that they would have the base floor done a week after they start.

But he would still have the AI Droids staying at the site he needed to get a temporary facility where they could recharge and stay. Then there was Ray, the Umbros Opera Droid prototype, he would be in charge of managing the new ones. Ethan and Ray came up with the idea to help them develop their own skills so they can do more after their employment contract for being created ended.

The AI Droids employment contract required the droids to work for him for five years after being created. During that time he would pay them a wage and provide energy to recharge them. After the five year term they could choose to stay employed in one of Umbros Private Military's many branches.

Speaking of which he would have to time it so his employees arrived after their security wall went up. He hoped he could be subtle enough about this.

Liberty Lion stared at the pulsating blue circle with a mix of annoyance and awe. Every time she saw the portal she was amazed that something could just exist without a solid presence. But she was annoyed since this latest one was in the middle of the city.

If the collapsing pocket dimension fully collapsed with the cores still inside it would level a large area of the city. The damage and the loss of life would be of an unacceptable amount. Not to mention forcing the reveal that these pocket dimensions exist. Greedy politicians would jump at the chance to exploit such a resource.

She pulled out her phone and made a call, "Call Ethan, I have a job for him in the United Kingdom. He needs to come with the utmost haste, and tell him to bring his best equipment. I will fill him in personally when he arrives."
