Chapter 89 - Chapter 89 - London Calling 8/9

BOOM!

The tank shook as it was fired. The small building that the Nazis were firing out of exploded in a burst of wood and shrapnel. A few body parts also began littering the street. While the few surviving ones began screaming in pain.

Ethan twisted the turret and focused on his next target. On the roof of a building a few Nazi soldiers were firing at them. The machine gun went off as their bullets missed him. Ethan's shots tore through the building and the Nazi's gunfire went silent.

He looked and saw they were getting close to the hotel. But as they rounded a corner he cursed. "Hydra Nazi tank!" He called out and the cannon began turning.

The tank he was talking about was a giant black armored vehicle. There were glowing blue spots on the tank. Showing that it was powered by the unstable energy that they were using.

"Where do I aim? That thing looks way too armored for me to take it down with the tank." Murdoc pointed out with a tone of annoyance.

"The rear of the tank." Ethan called out while chuckling. "All Hydra weapons and gear have a critical weakness that showcases their stupidity. On tanks like this one the weakness will be the extra energy discharge. It looks like it leaves through a pipe in the back. If we get it to fire after damaging it, the tank will explode."

"How do you know that?" Delilah asked from below him.

Ethan rolled his eyes. Focusing on the Hydra tank he noticed the tank was pointed away from them for the moment. Their tank rolled fully around the corner. Then the cannon loudly began turning.

While the Hydra tank began moving, several of the Nazi soldiers began running around it. Taking up positions as they started firing at the tank.

Ethan turned the turret and fired.

KA-CHUNK! KA-CHUNK! KA-CHUNK!

The bullets he fired began tearing through them as he turned the turret, covering the area around the Hydra tank in a hail of bullets. There were screams and then silence as the Hydra soldiers seemed to decide it was better to stay hidden for now.

BOOM!

The tank fired underneath him causing his body to shake. The shell slammed into the Hydra tank. But instead of destroying it, the round embedded itself in the back of the tank. But after a moment the cannon on top of it began turning again.

"Time to go! Get out of the tank!" Ethan called out. He tore the machine gun turret off the roof of the tank and jumped down. The roof of the tank opened and Delilah climbed out followed by Murdoc a moment later. They were scrambling away from the tank while Ethan took cover behind a stone wall, glancing out in time to see the barrel of the cannon begin glowing. "Dive away now!"

Murdoc tackled Delilah away from the tank. She was trying to carefully climb down but instead they both went flying through a window. A moment later a bright blue beam hit the tank and the tank went red from heat before exploding. Shrapnel and secondary explosions happening a second later.

BOOOOMMM!!!

The Hydra tank exploded a second later. But this explosion was much bluer as the unstable energy backfired on them. There was a large shockwave that shattered windows and put out the fire of the tank Ethan came in on.

Ethan looked around the corner. The tank was burning but the flame was dying down quickly. "You two okay?" He asked as he moved around the corner of the stone wall.

"I am." Murdoc answered. "Delilah was injured. But she can still move."

"Then pick her up. We need to get moving before they recover!" Ethan started walking to the burning Hydra tank. Glancing behind him he saw Murdoc support Delilah as they walked out of the building that Murdoc tackled her into. They were both covered in blood but it appeared that Delilah was holding one of her legs that was bleeding.

Ethan walked past the tank just in time to see a group of Hydra soldiers that grouped up around the hotel recovering from the Hydra tank's explosion. They had set up a host of sandbags and other defenses as it appeared they were initially struggling to break into the hotel. But he could see in the distance near the entrance there was splatter of blood and one of the militia members.

Ethan began firing the machine gun at the recovering Hydra soldiers. Walking nonchalantly to the entrance as he killed them. Eventually he stopped when there were no more soldiers trying to recover.

He walked into the hotel and frowned at the body of the British Militia member. "Jones, oh no. What happened to him?" Delilah asked as they walked in.

Ethan took a moment while he was aiming down the hall to take a closer look at the body by the entrance. The body had a single slash from the right shoulder to the left hip. He was cut clean through. The only reason the body was not in two parts was because whatever cut him did not get through his spine. The cut was clean, too clean.

"It was a sword." Ethan told them before walking to the stairs but as he rounded the corner where the stairs were he had to jump back. "Damn." He cursed as the sword that came out of nowhere cut through the machine gun he was holding.

Ethan jumped to the side and then stood up while he stood up the Silver Samurai. There was one like him in their world as well. As far as he can tell it is the family legacy of a Japanese crime family.

"Silver Samurai." Ethan spoke as he discreetly waved at the others to wait for a moment. "I apologize but I do not have a sword to fight on equal grounds against-"

Ethan stopped mid sentence and caught the sword that was thrown at him. "So you know about me." It was a katana. A simple one made of steel. Not like the one that the Silver Samurai had. "I will admit, I was hoping to fight this one again because I fought him once when he was using a pipe." The Silver Samurai pointed his sword at Murdoc.

"Then why don't you?" Murdoc asked as he cautiously watched the samurai walk out from the corner.

The Silver Samurai chuckled, "it is not something trivial like feeling insulted that he has played us better strategically or technology wise. Nor is it anger at the fact that he clearly came up with the plan that killed Red Skull. Just now he dodged an attack that would have killed most people and injured anyone strong." He raised his katana and pointed it at Ethan. "Which means you are at least as strong as Captain Carter, she was the only one able to dodge an attack like that."

Ethan chuckled, "Go up to the other members of the Militia, I will join you after this fight." He held up the katana, ready for a fight against this expert swordsman. The others quickly moved past as Silver Samurai gave them a clear amount of distance. He did not care about anything but the duel. But for Ethan the duel was just a means to get rid of this opponent.
