"Those 'things' have become restless last night." Her mother murmured.
"One of them acted on its own volition and attacked one of the young men in this house." Then she paused.
"It seems my control over them has weakened." The woman opened her palm and lowered her sleeves, exposing her wrist full of bandages.
"It's not the right time, my dear. Those 'things' should not be exposed. Anyone who saw them and recognized them must be killed." Her eyes that were calm and serene suddenly widened in madness.
Her eyeballs almost burst out of her eyelids as she searched for Ace's figure and locked on him.
"Kill…kill…Althea… kill…" She started heaving. Her blue veins started to come out of her wrist. She gripped the hem of her skirt so tight that her nails started to dig right through it until it almost pierced the skin on her palm.
"Mother," Althea reached out and held her mother's hand.
