'Where? Am i? The ship? ' The deck is there—Young lady, how about joining me?" A fat old man's voice sounded and held my wrist tight. 'The world is spinning; am I drunk? watery eyes, a flushed face, and weak legs. "Come on, young one," says the old man, "hm aahh," 'let go of me! This... I don't like this; I'm scared. 'Help me, please'.
"Gen… Genevieve!"
I opened my eyes to a hand hovering above my eyes. My back shivered. I tumbled. I got up on the bed, panicked. "Don't touch me!" My eyes blurred from tears. I couldn't recognize the person in front of me. My dream and reality are mixing. Lights shone, and I squinted my eyes as they cleared. "Genevieve, you're having a nightmare! Wake up!" He held me and shook my arms.
I look at him bewildered. 'A nightmare..."—aah. "I'm awake, I'm awake, I'm fine," I breathe in heavily cold sweat that drips down my face. "You don't look good." His worried face makes me calm. He handed me a cup of water. 'Cup.. of water.. Where did that come from?! jolted me awake. I saw a dish tray on the trolley beside the door. This mansion is so bizarre. He is wearing a black robe with silver accents and borders, making his look outstanding. I gulped, It's so early, my eyes are blessed. I took his hand to comfort him. He calmed down.
'What should I do now? ' I need to know what is currently happening outside, I said. "Where's the library? And... I want to go outside, can I?" He stopped fiddling with her fingers and spoke, reassuring her, "I'll hire a lecturer that can help you adjust to what happened in 100 years, and we can go outside whenever you want to." I got out of bed and noticed, "Aren't you going off to work, Mr. President?" teasing him. He looked at me, examining me, and said, "Are you sure you're okay? You just had a nightmare?" His concerning voice rings bells in my ears. 'He's so damn cute. "I'm fine." showing of my bulky muscles like they exist, except they don't. He chuckled. I got mesmerized. 'Damn, whoever got this man's heart will be envied by gods.'
He led me to the library, and he left. I asked him before where the maids were, and he said they were all here, just shy. Just look at one spot, and they will appear: "Don't let it spook you or they will be sad; all of them are sensitive". I kept it in mind as I strolled the hallway of the library. I saw the book I was looking for, "The Demon King, Defeated by the Hero 100 Years Ago." This could be useful, so I started reading it. Christian, the hero, vanquished the demon king, and peace was restored. All the demons went into hiding, never to be seen again. The kingdom rejoiced as the hero became the heir, and the king died shortly after he became the king. The first prince was reduced to being a baron in name; he didn't have any possessions. The king implemented presidential rule and became the president. Instead of a king, people still have him as a ruler, and now people have their own individual rights. Women can now get involved in politics and business. I closed the book, thinking 'it was too fanatical'.
I looked at one spot next to the door and balanced the chair, lifting the front, then steadying it on its two legs behind. It's a habit of mine that whenever I start thinking deeply, a shadow shows up. I blink, thinking something just caught my eye. I look again, and it's still there. Then a person wearing a maid outfit appears out of nowhere. She smiles and says, "Miss, what can I do for you?" I fell my dress open from the skirt, revealing my undergarments. "I'm so sorry," she said, looking alarmed. I told her, "I'm okay. Don't blame yourself. Maybe you can help with this." She lifted me up, showing us both disheveled. We both laughed.
