The image in the flyer was of a girl who clearly was not her but her name and seemingly everything else that was normally associated with her. It was plastered right there on the flyer, causing her thoughts to roam. As she held on to the flyer, she wandered around the city, as she was sure that her family would clear up this mistake if she could just bring it up to them.
Then before she could even get within view of her family's manor, that was when she jumped back as something was thrown at her feet. It was a new article that had been apparently published while she was away from home. Away on the suggestion of her own father that she needed to at least appear to be continuing her duties as swordmaster while he and the other fix this manner that had come up with her. She was so sure that by fixing it he meant to come up with some method to explain everything to everyone that she was still the same weapon user at heart even though she had always somehow been a mage against all odds and norms of her family line.
'Kuta Sabre drops dual sword style to focus on mastery of a single blade.
'I decided it was better to just use a single sword and swap between using either hand or just two handing my sword instead' she claims'
This is what the headline of the article said and the first major line of it under the heading read.
"Is it just me or does the Sabre girl look different than before?" a resident said
"The reasoning for that is the training in isolation and the incident that happened on her birthday. This must have been what caused them to finally drop that dual blade style she had been using. Was wondering when she would finally drop it as always thought it was weird she used two blades, and this fits her better" another replied
Kuta could not believe what she was hearing as sure there were a lot of people who did not like the fact that she was a dual wielding weapon user. If she wanted to dual wield then be in hold she used both hands to single a single sword and increase her overall power by just two handing her weapon. That was the more popular and accepted method of dual wielding in the Sabre family. Her father had told her this countless times before but she insisted on doing things her way as she always proved that it was effective for her and she had not lost a match serious at least. She did lose sparing matches and other things that were just training and playing around.
"As you can see you are no longer considered to be Kuta Sabre anymore. This was what my master was planning with the other family members regarding his daughter. She is now just a random girl who just so happens to have the same first name as the young mistress. You can continue to use it as a parting gift as not like you can do anything with it. There are quite a few girls who possess your name after all mostly thanks to how the master announced his daughter's birth. You might be the only mage named Kuta though" the agent said.
This agent was the one who threw the article at her and now speaking to her directly.
'I am no longer a Sabre...no longer father's daughter....he replaced me' Kuta thought.
She then noticed that her legs had given out and that she was lying on the ground as she looked to view her arms only to see that they too were on the ground.
'I lost control? That should not have happened unless I lost focus' she thought.
She did not understand fully the entire nature of her wand as she was not a mage in name only as she was in her heart up until this moment a weapon user that had become a swordmaster in her goal to follow the path of the blade. That was her goal, desire, and dream all wrapped into one as she going to make her parents proud as this was what she wanted to do and was glad it was being supported by them.
"Seriously did the news that her own family had not disowned her by replacing her entirely really break her" another agent said.
Kuta just sat there with a shellshocked expression on her face as she stared blankly ahead at nothing.
"Just more proof that she was never truly a Sabre let alone a weapon user at all. I do not know what she is as she is neither a mage nor a weapon user at least not fully. She is just something that mimics one but can never be a weapon user as she is a mage after all"the first agent said.
'I am not...I can not follow the path of the blade anymore cause I never was allowed to be a mage' Kuta thought.
In her mind the path she was walking along the path of the blade where she was firmly and confidently walking two swords that stretched out into the endless horizon before. The shattered and she was left falling in the black abyss that was now underneath her.
"Look there has been a change in her," the second agent said
"Seriously did she just really give up entirely" the first agent said lifting up head by the chin.
Kuta's eyes were staring blanking forward now completely vacant and seemingly devoid of all life and light that was previously present in them even in her shellshocked state.
"Seems the master was right about what would happen as the moment she learned and accepted that not only had she been disowned but she was no longer able to follow the path of the blade it would break her entirely," the agent said.
Kuta was then tossed over the first agent's shoulders while the second one grabbed her arms vanishing away as their job now was to just dump her off in the nearby city that had both weapon users and mages roaming about. She was not in the proper mindset to properly defend herself anymore and was too broken to piece herself back together either as had nothing left anymore. She had lost everything from her family to her even her goal, desire, and dream all wrapped into one. The mage girl merely known as Kuta now was just a shell of her former self lying where she was dumped along with her wand in her lap. Left to her own device as her formerly family...her former life no longer cared whether she lived or died. That is because to them Kuta Sabre was a broken mage girl with her wand being her literal arms but the swordmaster proclaimed how she was looking forward to joining the weapon user school to mingle with others her age and learn from them.
